Have just added pics of George dressed as a pumpkin and as Santa to my profile

Bramshott · 03/12/2007 16:46

Twinkle - OF COURSE we remember you. Lovely to 'see' you and hear that all is going well.

MJ - it's a few years ago, but I used to work in Covent Garden. Will have a think about where you could go (whilst being wildly jealous!)

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 03/12/2007 16:55

Elkie has been having major stress with a new kitchen - as I recall the fitters forgot the sink

Leaky - adorable pictures - love the santa one but the pumpkin one is extra extra cute! He will not forgive you for that when he is a 6ft tall rugby player (league not union I expect ) How is Eva doing now?

leakythesnowman · 03/12/2007 17:04

Eva is doing well. We go down to London for her christening this weekend. She last saw consultant 2 weeks ago and he is happy with her progress - it's still a matter of "wait and see" for a definite answer about brain damage, but it looks good. Give me a couple of minutes and I'll put a pic of her and G on my profile.

As for rugby, I'm definitely a union girl but living in West Yorkshire league is impossible to avoid When I taught in Wakefield league chit-chat was a way of bonding with the naughty boys.

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 03/12/2007 17:10

Thanks Leaky - glad all is looking good - love the pic - so sweet!

I'm more union myself - but saying you prefer union to league in Yorkshire is like saying you eat your children

Hi all

Back from a manic first day back! Hope ILAB had a good day!!

It was fine tbh, as dh had K, so I didn't have to think about how she was iykwim. Tomorrow will be hard I think.

Leaky, hope you are feeling better.

Twinkle, lovely to see you after such an age! No need to change your name to be Christmasy!

Hi MJ, hope you are well. I used to live in London, but cannot for the life of me remember much. Have you started a new thread to get some ideas?

Hope everyone else is well and have had good days. I am utterly exhausted, so apologies for missing people out. xx

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 03/12/2007 17:52

Oh SOL - I feel for you - I got really weepy last night about going back - and I've got till April yet (unpaid ) - I love the job and I want to keep my career going but the thought of not seeing B all day for four days a week makes me feel sick. I've got to go back 4 days though - I know I could apply for less but I also know it wouldn't really be possible to do my job in less or to recruit for the other half of the week so I'm landed with it. I think what I might do is go back and then look out for soemthing else which would be less days maybe....

Sexmasonlegs · 03/12/2007 18:05

Oh NL, felt weepy reading your post! I do 3 days a week which isn't too bad. Didn't realise how exhausted I would feel. Dh is up at the crack of dawn tomorrow as he is off to Paris, and won't be back until about 9.00 p.m. An awful day.

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 03/12/2007 18:11

Oh no! I'm sorry - it's a killer isn't it - I'm sure it will be ok when we get back into the swing of it - right?

cazboldy · 03/12/2007 18:14

Ange, it all stems from when I had ds1....there was so much anger....I think it made them all feel better to blame each other! but honestly it was noone's fault but our own!

cazboldy · 03/12/2007 18:15

just realised that might sound a bit cryptic! I was only 14 when I got pg.....needless to say, it did cause a few problems!

DippyChristmas · 03/12/2007 18:27

jingleoooggs · 03/12/2007 18:53

hi twinkle

dippy I will email you

nl - I go back mid April 2.5 days a week 16 hours

back later ds1 still up

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 03/12/2007 18:56

Well B has just eaten a huge tea - half a (small!) baked potato mashed up with some cheese and milk, a fromage frais and the rest of a large jar of vanilla custard - she had the rest at lunchtime Need to bath her shortly. Got my washing back - were it not for the expense I could become addicted to service washes - you hand over a bagful of grubby stuff and it all comes back wonderfully clean and neatly folded

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 03/12/2007 19:06

oh oh oh - dd2 is singing Away in a Manger to B - think I'm going to cry......yes I am

DippyChristmas · 03/12/2007 19:09

Need to eat tea and dash out to Pre-School Christmas Fayre Meeting. The joys.

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 03/12/2007 19:14

Dippy - you're so good - I just say NO! No to School Christmas Fair, No to School Summer Fair, No to church Holiday Club. I do say Yes to toddler group things though - and I lend dh to church on a v frequent basis for all sorts of thinbgs inc Holiday club

leakythesnowman · 03/12/2007 19:25

Dippy I have emailed you.

nl- away in a manger, how cute. Makes me wish for another baby so they could do lovely sibling stuff together.

HTH teething gremlin is yelling head off in cot.

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 03/12/2007 19:41

Evening all. SOL, I didnt even think about starting a thread to ask! That would be very sensible actually! Will go and do that in a minute.

Bramshott, would be grateful for any thoughts, especially if you used to work there. Maybe be able to advise me on where to avoid!!

Leaky, that pic of George and Eva is so lovely. He is an absolute darling, so handsome

liath · 03/12/2007 19:54

LOL at teething gremlin, Leaky. Love the photos, he's gorgeous .

Oooggs - so glad you had a good night at last, hope they keep it up.

Twinkle - lovely to see you .

SOL, hope you're not too knackered and have an OK day tomorrow. I hate it when DH is back late, I just run out of steam with the kids some days.

I am so so SO looking forward to friday - SIL is coming up, I've taken the day off work and we are both going to a spa. A day of relaxation, massage and NO VOMIT!!! Lovely.

jingleoooggs · 03/12/2007 19:57

sol - forgot to add that hope 1st day back went well

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 03/12/2007 20:11

Oooh Liath, that sounds lovely, enjoy

Twinkle, of course we remember you! Glad to hear you and yours are well

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 03/12/2007 20:21

Oh I am so cross - just been talking to dd1 and basically it seems that she has been teased at school for being bright. (proud mummy warning) - she is very bright - her teacher has put her on the G&T register for literacy and numeracy - she is also lovely and i am steaming that another child has even for a second made her feel bad about her god-given abilities. It doesn't sound too bad - just an occasional comment and she doesn't want it mentioned to her teacher - but I will if this happens again - it's just not fair! Aaaaaaaaaaaargh!

RudolphtherEDDASnosedreindeer · 03/12/2007 20:46

hi everyone, off to catch up in a mo,

Didn't get to work today as a nice lady decided to hit my car, looks erm, a little dented as she bashed me into someone else who happened to have a jeep with a wheel on the back and a tow bar Anyway have now got whiplash and am without a car so won't be going to work tomorrow either[secret yay!]

Luckily dc's had just been dropped at sil's as I was on my way into work so they weren't in the car, phew!

Right, off for a catch up on everyone else's news

Oooggs, what a great night. Really hope you get a repeat tonight. Thanks too for your post re my first day. xx

Liath, hope you have a fab day with your sil - sounds great.

NL, hope your dd1 is ok. Children can be so nasty sometimes.

MJ, any luck with starting a thread re your trip to London?

Right, need to go - have decided to cook some more food for K as she seems to have found her appetite finally.

Then, I am off to bed

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your friendship and support. I would really love it if more of us could meet up one day.
