NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 06/12/2007 17:15

Oh no - poor Joe - poor Ellie - will pray hard here and get my big girls to work on it as well.

Dippy - will start thinking of questions

DippyChristmas · 06/12/2007 17:22

Geeeez, I am nervous now

Right, go and get girlies .......

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 06/12/2007 17:39

no need to be nervous - too much of a baby-mush-head to be scary - I'll let you know when I'm ready

Sexmasonlegs · 06/12/2007 17:40

Hi ladies

Poor Joe and Ellie. Thinking of you all. x

Eddas, incredibly jealous of your Take That tickets!! Have a wonderful time!!

Nutty, good luck with the driving.

CD, what job was it you were going for? Fingers crossed for you.

Brain emptied. Was awake at 4.30 as K was coughing and then dh's had to get up at 5.30 to fly to Dublin. 6.00 Becky came in. Spent the day at work, and now waiting for dh to get home, as I am going to a work do. I am so totally exhausted that I really can't be arsed to go tbh. I know it will be fun, but I could sleep standing up!!!

Hope everyone is ok.

All ok here. K eating a bit better today, but both of them are coughing like smokers!

See you all tomorrow.

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 06/12/2007 17:55

Well -here is the latest update on my washing machine - I know you're all salivating at the thought aren't you

Hadn't heard about the parts so rang engineers - long pause then they say two of the parts are on 'back order' and won't be available till 21st Dec at earliest!!!!!

I didn't take this too well...but tried very hard not to take it out on her - think I succeeded - just and she gave me the number for Whirlpool Customer care (hollow laugh) - so I rang and spoke to the most unhelpful mardy madam it has been my misfortune to come across. She was no help at all, said they could/would do nothing - all they could do was sell me a new machine - she put me through to 'product exchange' and I hung on in a queue till they put me through to an answerphone then cut me off. By this time I am in tears and dh and I are debating the finacials long and hard - could maybe stretch to a new machine - but not without getting our call-out/labour charge back. So I call again and speak to nice man who puts me straight through to 'product exchange' - why the other madam couldn't do that remains a mystery and there I spoke to a human being! She did get it all - bathroom full of washing, baby, school runs, trips to the laundrette, cost of same and dh and the job thing. Bless her - she said she would see what she could do - rang back 20 mins later having located the parts and they are on the way!!!!! Hurrah for her and a good kick for the other harridan! Dh and I have agreed though - if it breaks again we will bale out and get a new one - can't have this hassle again - it is knackering!

elkiedee · 06/12/2007 18:20

CD, as NL says, if there were lots of other applicants you did well to get an interview. It sounds like you had a bad interviewer if they couldn't remember or check your application form when asking questions, but they must have thought that you were worth interviewing from the application.

elkiedee · 06/12/2007 18:23

Sad at news of Joe, won't use emoticon in case Ellie's still having to check on phone.

elkiedee · 06/12/2007 18:27

Something quite worrying happened today. I went out to baby singing to find it was cancelled but picked up a leaflet with details of a baby group at another centre. Went along and it was great, and centre is much nearer home than I thought. But, A the group worker is pregnant, due in March.

Towards the end of the group, A slipped and fell. Her colleagues at the centre were waiting for an ambulance to come when I left - they'd asked that we take our children out and leave space to help her, and I felt that was the best thing to do under the circumstances, but I really, really hope she's ok!

DippyChristmas · 06/12/2007 18:51

I hope she is ok too, Elkie - Please let us know when you do.....

OMGosh to your Washing Machine Saga, NL!!!!! Really excellent that the parts are on their way - you kicked some butt, Mrs - Well done!

Have had a couple of texts from POTC - M is with her Uncle and she is at A&E with Joe. Nurse saw Joe very lethargic etc when he came in, then she said he was "more alert than he has been all week", then he was sleeping again - then he was awake and crying. They are waiting to se a Dr. Will update as and when. xx

Ooooh, keep meaning to say - katy says Hello! to you all - She misses everyone and is feeling like she has lost a limb without the Internet! Good news is, they have moved.

P in bed, little pickle, DH with older 2 in bath. I'm exhausted!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 06/12/2007 20:06

Elkie - that must have been quite a shock all round. Baby is very well protected though and sounds like her colleagues were taking good care of her - hope you hear some good news.

Dippy - thanks for the update - will keep praying. Re the washer - yes it is quite a saga and I did indeed kick butt! Shame I blubbed in between calls - rather spoils the image doesn't it

Please say hello back to Katy for me - great she's moved, - our move is at least as epic a saga as the washer - did I mention that the house we want is back on the market - hurray - oh yes I remember now I have, once or twice or hundreds of times

tcmummy · 06/12/2007 20:38

evening loves

ellie- thinking of you and Joe, really praying it's nothing serious and the hospital sort you out. xxxx

NL - ahhhhh.... at washing machine saga! Ours broke over summer. Night before holiday with a drum full of dirty nappies We cut our losses raced to Comet and had the cheapest in the shop plummed in withing 2 hours!

GMM- you poor love. What a NIGHTMARE tax bill!!!!! Thinnking of you xx

Dippy - sorry to hear the interview was rough. TBH the interviewer sounds really crappy, possibly wouldn't be great employers for you anyway. The right job will come along, I promise. Praying for it to come sooner rather than later!!

SOL - glad to hear K's a bit better today. All these poorly babies, not good.

Elkie - hope the group worker is ok. Sounds scary xx

Hi everyone else. Can't remember any more!

We're doing ok, just completely knackered. Had a really busy day yesterday. Dh is changing jobs and it looks like we'll be moving next August so we had a whole day looking round where we might go. Not looking forward to the whole moving/packing thing! Hope Katy gets herself straight for xmas! Dippy if you text her again, tell her we're missing her and thinking of her!

Right... i need a cup of teeeeeeaaaaa

DippyChristmas · 06/12/2007 20:38

LOL @ you, NL - Really hoping and praying you get that house! xx

Haven't heard any more from POTC - hoping all is ok with Joe - will text in a mo and let you know if I get any response.

I am going to have an early night tonight. I am.

DippyChristmas · 06/12/2007 20:41

x-posted with tcmummy - I just had a very nice cuppa - not like the dish water reasonable efforts DH makes I remember your dirty nappy washing machine saga of the summer, tcmummy - T'was truly dull thrilling! Where do you think you'll be moving to?? xx

cazboldy · 06/12/2007 20:42

Ellie hope all is well with little Joe.

NL i had something very similar happen to me with a hotpoint washing machine years ago!
I rent mine now. At the time when we needed to get one we couldnt afford it, and this way repairs are free, if they can't repair it they give you a new one !

Idreamofchocolate · 06/12/2007 20:52

Poor little Joe and Ellie - thinking of you and hoping the Drs can figure out what's making him poorly and get him back to full health as soon as possible.

Dippy - sorry the interview was rotten. Sounds like it was as bad as it could have been, so use it as a learning experience and have a think about the answers you wished you'd given to his rubbish questions. All interviews (even rubbish ones) are good practice, and give you a chance to hone your technique.

tcmummy · 06/12/2007 21:10

Dippy... Looks like we'll be moving near Cambridge [v v happy emoticon] . Will be good to be near a decent academic library and is nearer to MIL so she can help out with T more

Now... let me tell you more about my washing machine breaking down... ...

caz - loving the idea of renting one! Didn't think of that!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 06/12/2007 21:13

There's something about a broken washer that brings out the tiger in you isn't there? That or you bring out your wallet and hand over much cash to make the pain go away

Do you think the next thread title should be 'April 2007 - all washed up'

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 06/12/2007 21:14

ooooh Cambridge is lovely!

tcmummy · 06/12/2007 21:17

lol at "That or you bring out your wallet and hand over much cash to make the pain go away" That is exactly how we felt!
