idoc, sounds like a lovely weekend. Just looked at your profile as I thought you used to be em and you were your girls are beautiful, love dd1s hair, it's gorgeous Thanks for the micralite suggestion. Have looked it up and it does look lovely. Will go and look at one in rl.

pesha, sounds like d's doing really well. My nephew had a massive head when he was young, really out of proportion to his body, bless him. But he grew into it he's 8 now and well in proportion

Eddas havent read everything yet after x posting before but just thought i'd mention that i wad talking to my sister who has a britax 2nd stage car seat for her dd. Her dd is 2.7 now and car seat is falling apart so she is having to buy a new one.

Peshanearth · 05/12/2007 10:43

Her thread is here

Ellie has been chatting to my sister How weird!

D is frantically trying to pull my top down and latch himself on!!

LuceYule · 05/12/2007 10:52

Ellie so sorry to hear that J is poorly and that you are having such a hard time
Really hope that you get some answers today from the drs. Thinking of you x (& hugs)

GMM Aaarrgghhh about your tyres and garage what a week for you with tyres. Not long until sat though

Weeonion really hope that you get your childacre sorted soon. It sounds like a total nightmare for you.

Eddas what a PITA about your car. Glad that no-one is hurt and another vote for the Maclaren techno here.

Pesha YEAH for D! that is great to hear.

Everyone else is having terrible weeks and I feel guilty because I am having a lovely one My boys and I enjoyed GMM and Cs company on monday and then saw Liath and her dcs yesterday. B had an absolute ball with E and took great pleasure in annoying his big sisters at the dinner table last night with exciting tales of E at the playground . It was lovely to catch up with both mummies and have some grown up talk.

Scottish Mince Pies
Trying to sort out some dates. Any dates that are better or worse for anyone?
Friday isn't a good day for me but how about Mon 17th?

Northern Lurker I keep reading your christmas name as NorthernLurker With a Strop On it does make me giggle!

RudolphtherEDDASnosedreindeer · 05/12/2007 10:54

I have put some pictures of my car on my profile. Please vote wirte off/fixable? we'll see who gets it right

LuceYule · 05/12/2007 11:00

Hmmmmm I think that they might fix that Eddas

RudolphtherEDDASnosedreindeer · 05/12/2007 11:20

Right have just read your sister's thread Pesha and pillocks info, all very helpful. POTC which ones did you buy in the end? Did you get them for free because of the accident? If not you should be able to as I just mentioned ours and they siad that's no problem either send the receipts for the ones you have or buy new and send those receipts, which is what we will do since ds's seat is old(and we didn't buy it) and haven't got the receipt for dd's anymore.

I will get confirmation that they will refund the money on the seats before I buy them and also I need to know if the car is fixable before I buy as I need to check the seats I choose can be used in my car. Far too complicated!

Need to check they will definately replace the buggy too as I do have 2 of them so can get by without the 2nd(I have a buggy and travel system, i'm not a buggy freak, lol!) probably doesn't need to be replaced but as it was in the boot i'll see if I can get one for the pure inconvinience of the accident it's not like i haven't paid out loads in insurance. See now i'm trying to justify it

Just popping in for quick hello

Pillock - you poor thing - what a nightmare - Joe is your priority now - try not to worry about his mad court threats. Hope M is better too after being sick. Your boys are such sweeties - Ernie sends Joe a big slobbery kiss (with tongues) xxxxxxxxx

Hope everyone else is okay.

I have been to sign on for JSA today - not sur ehow much will get but am looking for a job so might as well! Not sure what I want to do really either ...

DH pranged my car the other night [sngry] so am waiting in for a ding man to give me a quote! ggrrrrr!

Off to check on my sleeper!

liath · 05/12/2007 13:50

Hi,

Hope things go well at the docs, Ellie - you really don't deserve all this hassle, pity others can't put your boys first the way you do .

Monday 17th would be fine for us, Luce. It was great to see you yesterday - E was so wired she talked and sang all the way home - not a wink of sleep! At least she went to bed early!!

Dd is currently dancing along to a christmas song DVD wearing a huge santa hat - so cute.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 05/12/2007 14:24

Docs at 3.20, can't see the doc I have taken Joe to before so have to see someone that has never met him, in fact, last time I saw this doctor it was because I needed something checking down there so I know I'll be embarrassed!

Homestart just rang, they met me in the summer but haven't been able to find me a volunteer until now, she has people who will be ready in January so I'm feeling more positive that I might get a friendly ear nearby

Eddas
I went for the same one for Matthew as you have chosen for dd, is fab, and for Joe I have the Maxi Cosi Tobi, I planned to get the M&P one but one I saw it in rl it just looked wrong

Did you find my thread with the which test reports?

Pesha, I never knew you had a sister, let alone one on mn!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 05/12/2007 14:25

and yes, I have to send the receipts to claim it back, that's partly the reason for lack of funds, it's all very well getting it back again but still meant I had to pay out in the first place.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 05/12/2007 14:26

I'm sure there's more I meant to say, thank you all for your well wishes, will be back later to report what doc says

jingleoooggs · 05/12/2007 14:28

hi girls - just popping in

Ellie - text, mail, ring me if you want to chat - hope Joe improves and you get to the bottom of it - wish I was closer

on the car seat front - thought I would let you lot buy the 2nd stage ones first

RudolphtherEDDASnosedreindeer · 05/12/2007 15:36

potc, i'm sure the docs seen a few more patients since you so doubt he'll remember Hope they are able to help joe or at least get you seen be someone sharpish who can begin to help. must be worrying for you, to say the least. It's a complete pita having to pay out first isn't it? Ok if you have the money but i suspect ours will go on the card oh and yes i found the thread, pesha linked to her sister's thread and you linked to yours so got there in the end. makes for interesting if not complictaed reading. The mind boggles. But think I shall stick to the britax ones I linked to. I know pesha's sis had trouble with hers but you just never know til you buy. And they do get a good write up.

The good news is my insurance company say that the woman has admitted liabilty so don't have to pay out my excess(and then later get it back) phew But why oh why do you have to chase them, if i hadn't rung them twice today I would (a) not have a time booked for the garage to collect the car or (b) have found out they have an admission and therefore they could chase the hire company. I know they have loads and loads to deal with but I kept stressing the importance of the hire car as I have the kids/no other way to work. and how on earth will they repair the car without the car grrrrrrrr

elkiedee · 05/12/2007 15:37

Hope things are going ok/went ok at the doctor's for Ellie and Joe. Hugs for you Ellie. Your ex sounds like he's really not thinking about his son as a baby, as a small person with needs etc.

elkiedee · 05/12/2007 15:47

Whinge warning - I'm feeling a bit stressed again.

Went to speak to someone about the children's centres in the area and the services they provide this morning, at a meeting organised by the woman who runs the baby group I used to go to, can't at the moment because of clash with swimmning but was hoping to return in the New Year. News is there may not be a baby group on at all, and if so, not until end of Jan/early Feb, a few weeks before I go back.

The state of the house is getting to me, lots of left over bits and pieces which I don't need and was hoping the builder would take away with him. Thought L (builder) was coming back today but he hasn't so I'm going to ahve to chase him again.

dp's usually much better but recently I feel that he's not hearing me on stuff around the house. If I have to ask him, I'm nagging or having a go. Well, maybe so, but I shouldn't have to ask about putting things away and stuff. The house needs vacuuming worse than usual but dp decided he couldn't be bothered either helping to do it or making it easier for me to yesterday afternoon or this morning. He's on a late shift today and had over an hour to himself in the house in the morning - and left all kinds of crap which would take 2 minutes to put away with 2 free hands and not worryying about the baby screaming everywhere.

Sorry about that rant. My dad's coming round soon and will stay long enough to help with D's bath before bedtime. Yay. Whoever thought I'd look forward to being able to get out the vacuum cleaner? Maybe!

LuceYule · 05/12/2007 16:10

Eddas, my car seats are Britax and I have never had a problem with them. Two of them are on the 3rd round of use

LuceYule · 05/12/2007 16:11

Hope that you have a better evening elkidee

iloveabargain · 05/12/2007 16:16

Afternoon all

Have tried to catch up briefly, but just wanted to say...

potc - I really hope you and your babies are doing better. Not sure if you've already done this, but could you write a letter to J dad, outlining your access proposal, get CAB or someone similar to check it, then send it to him registered post? That way, if things do go down the legal route, you've got evidence of being reasonable, iyswim?

elkie - sounds like my dh! They can be a right pita, esp when they say they've had a hard day! Fgs, what have we been doing all day! My dh still believes in fairies....the laundry ones, vacumming ones

eddas - insurance claims are a blooming nightmare!

Well, work has been ok. Feels like I haven't been away

But J hasn't been sleeping very well the past few nights, and has ended up in our bed. He's crafty though, cos he goes to dh side of the bed, who lets him in for a cuddle, and I only find out when I'm being kicked in the stomach cos he's having a nightmare!
As a result, its all caught up with him, so he fell asleep in the car on the way home (1.30) and is still asleep, even though I tried evrything to wake him up. Hope he's not coming down with something.

take care
x

cazboldy · 05/12/2007 17:06

Oh ellie it seems so unlike you to be so down!
Hope everything has gone well at the doctors.
if you want to talk off of here let me know and I will let you have my email address.
Keep being the lovely strong mummy that you are to your boys, and fwiw I think you are being more than reasonable about Joe...he is a small baby ffs...and his dad is prctically astranger!

Eddas, I think they will fix it!
