Jan 07 Part 19: This time last year we were cooking our own little xmas puddings!

Brand new and shiney, just like all those xmas presents which have already been wrapped up () and are underneath the colour co-ordinated tree!

I had a work ss and I spent ages deliberating over mine and put loads of thought into it.

And I got a candle. Not even scented. Just a candle.

And this was just after I was having a rant to one of my work-mates about how often I get candles from the kids for christmas, and how I hate candles and I never used them except for once in a powercut.

and before anyone says, I know some people do like candles, but it was very hard keeping a straight face right after I had had a rant about it! my mate was sitting opposite me, grinning.

Talking of candles, at my dc school they do a mothers day stall every year where you have to send in donations of unwanted gifts and then send your own children with £1 to buy something and have it wrapped. Lovely idea and last year dd1 actually bought me home a fairly nice scented candle. It wasn't until a couple of weeks later that I noticed the "To a special teacher" sticker on the side

canmummy - lol. It wasnt one of mine! I have to keep all gifts I am given, even if I hate the stupid candle . I feel dutybound never to throw away things that people have bought for me! Don't ask me why!

Had a non-mum friend voer for tea tonight who was very intruiged by MN and our ss. She commented 'you could spend hours on it'......yep

I had just put Ellen to bed earlier when my dad rang me to say Ellen has just rung him! She was playng with my mobile before bed and it turned out she had rung my parents who answered the phone and could hear her making noises and y voice in the background chatting to my friend. It amused them!

I cannot believe this time last year I was carrying what felt like a baby elephant, then gave birth to a teeny weeny less than 2kg baby.

Like the loko of that recipe on page one wilkie I have just moved, and at last have a decent sized freezer, so can do a bit of cooking in advance for Isobel and freeze it all... cant wait! well, i need to unpack last few boxes before can do anything organized like cooking...

I know RGee is going away for new year / pippas b'day but can't remember about xmas.

relaised I have missed one of Ellen's little friends birthdays and there is another tomorow so gonna have to make a quick dash into leeds this aft. I could do withoutit as had planned to make mince pies but never mind.

I am out this evening, working tomorrow and out tomorrow night so might not get chance to get back on here before I head off for a week. In case I don't...

Its my birthday!!!!
I have had 2 chocolate croissants oink and too many geurlain chocolate sea shells!

Am going to reach size 18 by the time xmas actually gets here! x
