Morning all.....

Thought I'd start a new thread as the other was huge.

Bit late now but big hug to Beau..... hope you went back to sleep little man.

J & M still asleep, it's one good thing about having Mum & Dad around, I don't have to wake the girls up to do the school run.

Good morning,

How are you feeling this am mrsjb? You know where i am if you need a chat xx

LG&T, hope B settled for you.

Just have to let everyone else know that i got a FREE KK yesterday whilst waiting to pay for the 6 i had chosen

Off to baby swimming this am. Have missed 5 weeks due to holiday and Ella being snotty. Had better go and see how much i have missed.

See you all later xx

largeginandtonic · 08/11/2007 09:28

I have KK

B was a little tinker till late last night, he rarely moans so i didnt mind really. I just fed and snuggled him till i went to bed, he settled fine then.

I must do some serious washing and cleaning today or dh will return tomorrow and think i have let the whole house go to pot!

We have friends over for tea tonight and then we are going to a firework display, not sure how im going to manage but the kids will love it. Im thinking of dressing them all in one colour so i can identify them

MrsJB whats up?

ShowOfHands · 08/11/2007 10:50

Good morning all.

I hear you on letting the house go to pot LG&T. I have about 6 lots of laundry to do but in the interests of experimentation I am seeing how high I can stack it on the spare bed before we lose a member of the family/the cat to the Monster Wash Pile.

I am wasting time until my parents get here. Off to buy my last three Christmas presents today. I am none too impressed with who I got for my Secret Santa. She's absolutely lovely, I have enormous amounts of love and respect for her but she may well be the most difficult person in the world to buy for. I will do my best and I apologise in advance. Norfolk has no shops. Well there's the welly and wax cotton jacket outlet, but that's hardly a gift emporium.

Baby signing is fantastic. M already understands the signs. If I sign cat she looks at the cat, milk and she pulls my top up, Daddy and she smiles at J. Very impressive! I like the songs too. 3 Little Monkeys is my favourite and I have been known to get rather carried away at Tiny Talk sessions, singing like a loon. They all think I'm uber mad hippy Mum anyway so I care not.

I feel very guilty. Have not worried about M's cradle cap until now. Most of it went on its own but she has a bit left at the front. I may buy something to get rid of it as was being lax and letting it sort itself out.

Boring bit for today: Did some research on luteal phases after pregnancy and during breastfeeding. Apparently it is completely normal for you to suffer a luteal phase defect while still breastfeeding. Caused by a depressed ovary so they say. So will be taking my depressed ovary out for lots of fresh air and exercise before demanding Prozac for it. It's clever really. Even though af may return, while breastfeeding, your body will still try and prevent any chances of conception in order to nurture the baby you already have. I'm no longer worried that I've become infertile all of a sudden.

Anyway, M is being neglected and trying to eat a toe separator. She's 26 weeks today! That's 6 months. I'll have a biscuit thank-you. A hero one. And some gingerbread. I never thought I'd make it.

largeginandtonic · 08/11/2007 11:01

You so deserve it my lovely, knew you could do it and in fanatastic style too. This is the hardest bit, all a breeze from now on...

Before i go though, are you coming to see me next week? I need to stock up on gingerbread if you are

ShowOfHands · 08/11/2007 11:09

I would throw this gingerbread at you but it's too good to waste.

Still heading your way if that's alright by you? A week today we will land upon your doorstep...

Do you know what you're letting yourself in for?

anneme · 08/11/2007 11:17

have copied this across from old thread...
Abby - if you are worried go to see the dr - and when you phone to make an appt say "I would like to make an appt for my 6month old who seems to have quite a bad runny tummy ~" - that should get you an appt pretty quickly! It could be dairy intolerance - DS1 has that although it tends to show itself in eczema. Diff dairy has diff affects iyswim - I noticed it with my bf DS1 when I gave him porridge made with cows milk and he seemed to have a sore tummy straightaway. I agree with all that has been said - diff things work for diff people!

largeginandtonic · 08/11/2007 11:26

Wahoooo SOH is coming to stay We cant wait, the kids have been briefed on visitors. You know the usual, wake them up before us, dont jump on them too much I hope to have tackled my washing pile by then, of course another will have grown in it's place

twelveyeargap · 08/11/2007 11:31

Mrs JB - in answer to your question, we were told to say the word and sign too. You know you could brush up on the signs you need for babies by going to British Sign Language. All that's important is that you and J can understand each other and the rest of the family. How is she now?

Is Beau better today? A was awake about 10 times last night. SO unlike her. Moaning and calling in her sleep. I fed her at 2am, but after that at 3, 3.20, 3.50, 4am (you get the picture), she just needed a cuddle to get back to sleep. I'm shattered today. Poor A. I guess it must be teeth. She has very ruddy cheeks. I must give her some Nelsons powder. I haven't seen those other ones you mentioned.

I too have a Very Hungry Laundry Pile. The water pump in the cellar was broken until 10 minutes ago. £150 later I can use the washing machine again and need to tackle the washing as I don't have any clean sheets to put on the bed for the four girlfriends who are arriving from Ireland tomorrow. And I'm going out (yes, out - in the West End no less) on Saturday and I don't have a stitch to we-ar. (Think The Smiths...) Anyway. How the bloody hell am I going to find something black and trendy to cover my enormous arse/ thighs/ hips/ belly without having to go to sodding Brent Cross?

Did I mention that we have 13, or possibly 16 for Christmas dinner, plus 5 children? 10 of those will be sleeping here... Seemed like a good idea at the time. It was reading Nigella's "Feast" what did it. I came over all funny and started phoning people.

largeginandtonic · 08/11/2007 11:54

SOH have a look at this

largeginandtonic · 08/11/2007 11:59

How sweet is that?

TYG 'Feast' is the most popular book in my cookery colection, it has got me through the last 2 Christmases. You will be fine, organisation is the key, start freezing now!!

B has been asleep since i came home from the school run! Obviously making up for last night, lucky for him I's doing well on the washing pile though and have put loads away too. Made the mash for going on the cottage pie tonight and have managed to STRAIGHTEN my hair!!! SCOOT you would be proud.

We miss you where are you? You must have tinternet by now? Come baaaaackkkk

Must go and make lunch, not feeling inspired. Hugs is chewing on a piece of lego so he must be hungry

twelveyeargap · 08/11/2007 12:27

Well yes, I suppose 13 for dinner is a bit like a normal evening in your house!

Is the chocolate malibu cake in Feast the one that you sent to me? (YUM!)

largeginandtonic · 08/11/2007 13:19

Yep it is the very same, a regular here. Very good excuse to buy Malibu I do not drink it with coke when no one is looking...

largeginandtonic · 08/11/2007 13:20

Hugs and i just waliked down to the local chip shop, they are the best for miles around. So yum

Mrsjaffabiffa · 08/11/2007 13:25

Wrote a long post and then MN went down and took my post with it. Just checking it's working again before I write it again.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 08/11/2007 13:42

Thanks AM I may try to catch you tonight if you are around. I'll be OK.

lg&t, Yesterday was just one of those days, you know the ones when every tiny thing sends steam from your ears. You want to throw and kick anything that gets in your way, H & M would NOT stop fighting and being horrible to each other. M undid everything I did, I picked something up she threw it back on the floor you know how it goes...... Father decided it would be a good idea to hose down outside the front doors, the only way out of the house was now soaked and the water pissed in through the french doors just adding to the things for me to clear up. I had planned a nice productive day which just didn't happen. Moan, Moan, bla de bla you know what it's like I'm sure. Dh finishes his job he's been doing for a few months now tomorow and has NO more work lined up so I'm worried about where the next bill/Christmas will be paid for. BUT
Mum and dad go back to the Uk tomorow for at least 2 weeks so I can't wait, it's time we had a break from each other before I lock them in their wing or in the tower.

TYG, thanks for that, I must brush up my signing, infact I think I have a key word signing book in the loft. 13 for Christmas lunch, pah, you'll be fine, Sounds like you are going to have a great evening with your girlfriends.

SOH, How cute that M is recognising the signs already.

I Love the owl hat, how very cute!!

J is a little better today although still bunged up. The medised and Carvol have worked a treat, thanks lg&t hadn't thought of carvol, doh.... We can't get either of them here but I have supplies.

Right, m gone to bed, J I think has fallen asleep on her playmat, she's gone very still and quiet anyway and I must go and help Mum pack all of their belongings the things for the UK into the car, Woooo Hoooo roll on tomorow.

SKYTVADDICT · 08/11/2007 13:47

Hi all

Had a horrid morning as had a txt from work to tell me someone else has been taken on to work full time and I will have to work with them when I go back in Jan and not by myself. Very long winded so won't go into details but I really don't think they need two people doing MY job. Its been a cock up basically.

All well here, C still a bit constipated and waking once in the night for a feed but days have a sort of "routine".

What happened to the "East" meet up? Anyone any ideas/dates?

largeginandtonic · 08/11/2007 19:49

Where is everyone? Im off to chase the rest of the mini demons to bed but when i come back im posting a pic on my profile of them all in the bath!!!

Hope your day improved Sky, give them hell!!!

LeafCoveredMeadow · 08/11/2007 20:10

Please all look at the meet up thread. SOH is going to see LG&T next weekend..... why dont we try and arrange it for then??

Pinknerverashjenny · 08/11/2007 20:28

Hello all

I know I keep disappearing. I always check in though, sometimes I just don't have anything interesting to say. Not that I do now.

My gorgeous daughter still prefers sleeping with mummy and daddy, and as she sleeps like a log in the middle of us, who am I to argue. I know, LG & T, I've let you down and given in. Its not boding well for the future.

We went to baby cinema again today. Saw Elizabeth, truly the loudest film in the entire world. Clive Owen made up for it though.

Lexie got a cold, really hamming it up. Am about to post a new pic.

I also have my Secret Santa person, and am feeling pretty confident about it!!!

AM - can't find the meet up thread!!!

juliewoolie · 08/11/2007 20:33

here it is

ShowOfHands · 08/11/2007 20:40

Might not make the meet-up after all. You know how we live on the river? Our house overlooks the river? We even have a boat mooring?

Severe flood warning for the river... it's going to burst its banks.

May be very wet tomorrow. Oh dearie me.

juliewoolie · 08/11/2007 20:43

Pinknerverashjenny · 08/11/2007 20:49

Hi Julie

Why is it that whenever I straighten my hair it rains?

SOH - nightmare. We don't worry about that too much in Scouseland.

Have posted two new pics x

ShowOfHands · 08/11/2007 20:55

Lexie's very cute! You look far too lovely and polished woman. I am never putting a pic of me on here. I look like a troll. Tomorrow I may be a drowned troll. I am very slightly worried.
