EPP

Flame - It is only the front page. The rest seems fine. Reviews and best sellers have slid off the white bit and off the page.

I need to go to bed, too.
NN all.

CountessPHOENIXula · 19/10/2007 00:03

Oh, great. I miss an evening when most of you were actually here

Ds2 till never get hs cot turned into a bed I remember the weeks of trauma with ds1! And actually, he's still just roll out of it now; ds1 does, on the rare ocassion that he's in bed not on the floor anyway.

Actually csws;, I think the monkey will do it on boxing day(he's an italian monkey BTW, with a very sexy telephone manner!). And if not, I remembered that dh gets a free cab to work on Boxing Day; wonder how he's going to swing getting one from 800 miles into deepest Herts?! Was also thinking, good job the boys have tiny santa sacks, as there's no way ds1 will be going anywhere withour his pressies! He's getting that puppet theatre from us, so if you're really unlucky you might get a show How much would a cab be from WGC if we all came up that way? And do you know any firms with carseats?

Flame, have you got any fuzzi inserts you can deliver to me in person?! I just need 2 I think, as 4 are currently lost in the post from my friend. Assuming they ever turn up!
Er, if its this cold over the weekend, i'm going into London with my wheatpillow up my jumper

Frizombie · 19/10/2007 08:42

you lot are up to late on the one night that I wasn't

No idea what tog duvet dd2 is under, its ikea cot duvet if that helps? We have a friends bed, actually waiting for me to collect it this week/weekend, as her son now has a new 1st stage bunk bed really hoping dd doens't pester me for one

EPPM so I'll take your brummy accent away again then where you from before then, then?

Jas think I have rubbish socket collection too, even though our house is new ish, could defo do with another double one, in the huge space where there isn't one! but then the planners we're very bad when they designed this house lots of unused space ie the HUGE stairwell upto the friggin loft, hello, why didn't you extend a bedroom out over there?

Ok off to work, if its quiet I may go and sit in the middile of the shop and plug a wire into the laptop! however I fear I have much more to do than that.

mustrunmore · 19/10/2007 09:13

When we moved in, we used the kitchen for about 6 months beofrespliing some water on th worktop, which dripped down the bsck and into an unsafe socket hidden behind the cupboard, and nearly blew the place up
We have a lovely set of 4 sockets that are so close together you can only use two at once most of the time, as the plugs overlap onto the adjoining socket.

ChasingSquirrels · 19/10/2007 10:15

when we put our conservatory on I insisted on 4 double sockets so that there would be plugs whereever we needed them - they hardly get used - but they are there, and they basically cost pennies if you put them in at the beginning. I just don't understand why they don't put more sockets into new houses.

CountessPHOENIXula · 19/10/2007 10:39

Our bedroom and ds' old room only have 1 double socket. His new bedroom now has 3 double sockets but before only had 1.

I really should have gone to bed early last night. Lewis woke up about 2am then again at 6am. He did settle straight away both times but he woke me up.

CountessPHOENIXula · 19/10/2007 10:41

Oooo have i said we're getting a Wii for christmas Have u got one Flame? Are they good

FlameBat · 19/10/2007 10:42

lol @ discussing socket collections.

Yup to fuzzi inserts - I have a load that I've never listed on the site I'll check they are the same thickness as the normal ones though.

ChasingSquirrels · 19/10/2007 13:02

what did I say about the grobag stopping T climbing out of the cot - he fell out this morning, cot has now gone down to the lowest level.

Jas · 19/10/2007 13:28

Yes looks bck to normal from here now, too

EachPeachPearMum · 19/10/2007 13:49

Hi all!

@ CS- well it made you lower it!

frizbe- before that, Manchester - but no manc accent either . Grew up rounf the corner from Rhubarb (and Custy) actually, but only found out the other night... they are marginally older than me, so our paths didn't cross as far as I know.

Phoenix- we have a wii, and its fab! All our friends young and old play it when they come round. (we do have an awfully large number of other consoles in our house though )

FlameBat · 19/10/2007 15:41

Arse

Car has been having an engine light flash on and off for a while, needed to take it in, but if it isn't on constantly it isn't meant to be urgent... revs have been up so we assumed they just needed adjusting. Checked oil today and the oil bit is looking like there has been a leak on the outside or something, nowhere near as much oil in there as there should be (I put loads in a while back)

DH has taken it to the garage, dunno if they will be able to look at it today. Or how much it will cost

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/10/2007 15:41

Good grief - how is a girl supposed to catch up when you talk this much?!

I think that children need lower togs because their bodies aren't as good at getting rid of excess heat, so they stay warmer with less covers.

mrm - don't be daft woman! Dh or I will come down and pick you up Christmas Eve evening. You can't come on the train with all your Christmas stuff!

I have 12 sockets in my kitchen (plus a hidden one that the dishwasher goes into). I always put masses of sockets into any room that I have work done on.

I left Brum 10 years ago EPPM. I guess the town just wasn't big enough for the both of us!

Forgot to mention yesterday that I did manage to get dd to the docs. She now has antibiotics for a slight ear infection and her cough. mrm - you will be surprised to hear that the yellow did wash out (vanished it first), but the stains from her tea didn't . She hates taking the abs, but she slept so much better for having them.

Had a busy day so far today. 6 friends came round with their dc this morning, and I went out and left dd with them! Figured that between them they'd be able to cope with my whirlwind! We went to the open day for the school that was our first choice. Absolutely loved it. Will still go to the open day for the other contender, but will be very surprised if we like it more than todays. Just need to arrange to see the nursery separately though, as didn't go there today. Unfortunately, the fire alarm went off part way through the headmaster's address , so we ducked out then to come home, as we'd already been gone longer than expected.

Am off out this evening too. Going to a quiz at the school of a friend's dc (in Gamlingay if you know it macca). Dh will be left to clear up from dinner and put dd to bed by himself. That'll be fun, as I don't think she'll be wanting to go up early, given how late she is getting her afternoon nap!

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/10/2007 15:42

Cars are a PITA flame. Stick a bit of packing tape over the leaky bit, stuff a load more oil in, and ignore it for a bit longer .

Jas · 19/10/2007 16:03

That is my home csws.

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/10/2007 16:04

What, Gamlingay?

FlameBat · 19/10/2007 16:06

£45 - pipe detatched somewhere and plugs burnt to hell and back (not sure if they are related things)

for first choice and Jas's gaffer tape house!

Oh is that what she meant by her home comment .

Phew for car.
