dunno, ds1 was 2y3m. But some go earlier - a friend had hers climb out at 13m - so safer in a bed (well safer on a mattress on the floor). Deoends on the child. T climbs onto our bed in the morning, and gets down fine - would probably be ok in a bed, but then we would need stairgates, and something to stop him opening his drawers and hiding in his wardrobe - on balance a cot is easier!

Jas · 18/10/2007 23:41

18m people seem to go into a (low) cotbed or small childrens bed type thing.

CountessPHOENIXula · 18/10/2007 23:42

Thanks for that cs lol

Ds bounces or lifts his legs and slams them back down in his cot and now we've moved him into the attic and he's directly above us its so loud

EachPeachPearMum · 18/10/2007 23:43

Ooh our friends just moved from Balsall Heath (Dennis rd) to Kings Heath..... which is where we are. Did your dds go to school there? or was it much longer ago?

Jas · 18/10/2007 23:45

I'm old

I'm still in touch with one friend there who is in Kings Heath I think.

ChasingSquirrels · 18/10/2007 23:45

pmsl at "moved him into the attic", you do throw bread and water up to him occasionally I hope.

FlameBat · 18/10/2007 23:46

DD went in a toddler bed at 18 months (I think)... she was in it by her 2nd Christmas, so yeah, about that.

DS is staying in the cot til he's 12, or when he grows out of it (I think 12 may come first )

Friz - I will pass on about the lack of whores, but that there may be a man with undecided hair in bunches Seeing as he wanted to buy one of my midget twins when I was pregnant with DD, he might find that appealing! (You'd love him MRM )

Forgotten what I came on to say

Littlelapin was lovely and attacked the front page for me again... she removed a few (70 or so) unnecessary font tags . Tis a good thing people come to me for my nappy knowledge and not my web building skills!!! If I was a spider I'd be very hungry

I think I really was a neglectful first time mum... We looked on toys r us, they had a cotbed duvet, we bought it. Not a clue what tog rating it is . Def feels like summer weight, if that!

DS loves his huge wool blanket too much, he will probably be under that til he's 12 too!

I looked at cot bed duvets, though "OMFG £30", brough a low tog single duvey and got my mum to sew it down the middle and cut it in half!

EachPeachPearMum · 18/10/2007 23:47

Dd can;t climb onto our bed yet. can just about manage down. She didnt crawl until 15 months though, and walked about a week after that. I think we've a while to go before she climbs out of her cotbed.

I can remember from when I was small (2.6), and I shared a room with my brother (1yr 11m younger than me) climbing out of my cotbed when I woke up- into his cot to 'play' with him (erm... he was about 6mo) then scampering back to my cotbed when i heard my mum and dad get up!

CountessPHOENIXula · 18/10/2007 23:48

Oh yes of course cs

Bloody bread and water is about all he has anyway. We went to ikea yesterday and me and dh had a hotdog, like you do at ikea, and Lew just had a hot dog bun wouldn't touch the sausage

Jas · 18/10/2007 23:49

I don't even know what a font tag is.

ChasingSquirrels · 18/10/2007 23:49

I think he might use ds1 as a stepping stone

Jas · 18/10/2007 23:52

The dds never climbed.
DD1 couldn't get out of my friends sons cot when she was 5!

Our bed is very high, so ds can'tt get onto it yet. He has no problem with the bunk beds though.

FlameBat · 18/10/2007 23:53

you're just braggin about your ikea trips

8 months ago I had no idea what a font tag was either!!!!

My mum bought DD's duvet She bought her the duvet, a cover, and a pillow for her 2nd Christmas (we really treat kids round here, if they're really lucky they get an orange too and a 50p )

Flame r u playing with your site cos i just went on and it's not right.

FlameBat · 18/10/2007 23:55

DD gets into DS's cot to play with him. Tis not so bad now, but wasn't great when he was tiny.

DD and her friend were playing upstairs. Heard familiar clattering

"GET OUT OF THE COT!!!"

"I not in it!"

Went up there to put him to bed and found a pillow (with head dent) and duvet in there... nooo, clearly wasn't in the cot

OP posts:
FlameBat · 18/10/2007 23:55

Noooooooooooo what's wrong with it?!!?!?

OP posts:
FlameBat · 18/10/2007 23:55

I suppose DD never said that Mia wasn't in it

Jas · 18/10/2007 23:58

Just checked it. Front page is a bit odd. Too wide for the screen, with bits overlapping on the riht hand edge when you scroll over to it.

EachPeachPearMum · 18/10/2007 23:59

dd's latest thing (well- the thing this week!) is to ask me to get in! I did on sunday morning, just cos i was so tired, so we snuggled up together and read her books for a bit (erm- can you guess which one LOL), till she got too hungry and wanted breakfast.
Like I said, she has a massive cot, and I am quite small. tis a pain to climb into though, so I know she aint never getting out!

EachPeachPearMum · 19/10/2007 00:00

aargh- there's the chimes. I've got to be in wirk by 8 night night all!
Flame- hope the site's fixed...

EachPeachPearMum · 19/10/2007 00:01

erm...work...obviously
