I think I'm off to bed too, shoudl have gone hours ago, am exhausted.

mustsparkleandburnmore · 06/11/2007 23:04

Oi! I'm not lazy, I'm just waaay out of my depth with real nappies!

Dont do links; I've already told you that clicking on them freezes my pc

Saw that mooncup thread; but it was only based on a posting from a money saving type site, so assumed it wasnt true (or just one branch had cocked up their pricing!)

Phoenix · 06/11/2007 23:07

Goodnight everyone, i'm calling it a night too

Jas · 06/11/2007 23:07

Yes he was just taking the week off, but the joy of being self employed means that his boss tuns round and says there is no more work (he is the last one in, and on more money than the others) and there is nothing he can do.He's only just been paid for the previous three weeks (supposed to be paid weekly) so cash flow is obviously a problem for them, too.
Something will turn up. It alays does. They did say they mayhave more in a couple of weeks, so it isn't just an excuse to et rid of him.

I really can't do nippas. I'm still trying with my worn out velco'd tots bots, but more often than ot it is undone when I change him still.
I'm going to bed, now, too.

NN

Flame · 06/11/2007 23:08

Fluffles are shaped nappies (so they need a wrap), fast drying because they are made of microfibre (like the insides of the white fluffy tester nappy), but quite bulky.

Howzat?

Jas · 06/11/2007 23:09

mrm - You were right. It was a case of chinese whispers when one shop sold one mooncup for 50p I think.

EachPeachPearMum · 06/11/2007 23:35

Hi all, another horrible evening- much screaming, though she did fall asleep much more quickly after it thank goodness, as it was my reading group this evening- the one evening when you're all here chatting!

Jas- ds is gorgeous! wow!

Friz- love the idea about shouting bang... will try tomorrow, though she doesn't actually ever shout... (DH and I are quite quiet people)

Flame · 07/11/2007 07:43

Poor little thing EPPM

DS slept through, and has woken all chirpy (Ok, he won't be when he realises he's at nursery, but at least I know that is nursery crying and not me abandoning a very ill child )

mustsparkleandburnmore · 07/11/2007 09:05

Hello. up late, Off to playgroup now.Chaos. Do you need to change wraps as often as nappies IYSWIM? Or just the nappy bit and the wrap every now and again?

Flame · 07/11/2007 10:29

wrap is just one for day and one for night unless you get poo leakage (rare)

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/11/2007 20:34

Was tonight any better EPPM?
We've had several tantrums when dd hasn't got her own way, and a few mins of screaming when we put her to bed again, but I went back up and she was ready to cuddle and then lie down nicely.

Right, off to pick a colour for my berry plush.

(mrm - did you miss my q about Sunday?)

Frizbe · 07/11/2007 21:21

Wow, you lot have been rather busy
Nearly time for a new thread again! name ideas then?

EPPM how has it gone?

Mr CSWS Mexico, jammy.......I just mentioned to dh that Paris is now only 4.5/5 hrs away by train with the new link and he kindly said, hahaha you're working now, you have no free time to go So here's hoping someone can get me free tickets to comiccon in San Diego next year..... then we'll have to get staff!

Phoenix at your firework impersonations

Hi Chole, welcome back

Flame which glasses did you choose then?

Jas for house, love those photos, how grown up are the kids looking!

MRM yay for ds2 acknowledging you, finally! I may have to re send that request then! (stalker alert!)

Sooooo dd2 says this am, mummy poo, I look, nothing.....a few minds later, mummy poo, I look, nothing........another few mins later, MUMMY POO! and blow me, there it is, appearing in her nappy, I'm thinking I need to get the potty out non?

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/11/2007 21:29

You know that hub2dee might well be in San Diego next year don't you Friz? You could meet up with him if you're over there.

Yes, go on, potty train. Could do with a laugh .

Hadn't realised the thread had so many messages. I think 'Testing Boundaries' would be a good title from my POV!

Frizbe · 07/11/2007 21:41

Woooohooooo poor old hub2dee wouldn't know what had hit him if we suddenly landed
I don't know about potty train, but was thinking of leaving it about and seeing what happened? and the sooner she does train, the nearer I am to a new living room carpet

Jas · 07/11/2007 21:46

Definitel sounds like its worth having the potty around!

Is Flame still potty training or has Flameboy stopped fighting the nappys?

I hadn't noticed the thread getting so big, either. No idea re new title atm.

EachPeachPearMum · 08/11/2007 00:17

HI all!

well, no fireworks tonight, but of course now she's in the habit of me being there so wanted me there till she fell asleep.

She woke last night too, for about 40 mins, screamed each time I left, gah.

She is still incredibly jumpy in the daytime

She was such a confident little thing too! Dh says she'll get over it soon enough, so fingers crossed. It seems like she just understood being scared IYSWIM- dont think she's really had the chance to experience it before, so she needs to learn how to deal with it. Just wish I knew how to deal with it!

Yay for the potty training Friz! dd reports after the event, unless you see her do it, when she denies it emphatically!

Flame · 08/11/2007 08:40

DS started co-operating with nappies again

Comiccon sounds interesting...

for your jumpy little lady EPPM

Can't show you the glasses - can't find em online

Chloe55 · 08/11/2007 08:58

Morning,

EPPM - I have just had a nosey at your pics on your profile and I love the pensive one of your dd at the bottom, gorgeous Are we all just biased or has nobody actually produced an ugly child on this thread?

How are the glasses going Flame? I tend to wear mine all the time now as I have run out of contacts and they are so bloody expensive to keep up with. Thing is, my glasses are bent so out of shape as I lay on the sofa with them and ds has had hold of them a few times - I hate having to wear them. So much so, that if I go on a night out I just don't wear them and can't see a bloody thing!!! It's like I'm drunk before I have actually had a drink!

Chloe55 · 08/11/2007 09:02

OMG - just rung post office again and can you believe - it's only bloody turned up!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/11/2007 09:19

Yay!! Hope they do fit after all that chasing!

Frizbe · 08/11/2007 12:20

lol at the bra saga lets hope they fit!

Hating blogger at the mo, it won't let me use ! pants says I.

EPPM I looked at your pics too! she's lovely Have to say here dd2 will be looking uglier if she carries on getting scratched/bumped etc.

So what you all upto today?

I'm waiting for a huge comic/graphic novel order and another games delivery, dum de dum..

Flame · 08/11/2007 12:23

Hurrah for bra arrival

Glasses lack of is hell. I hate contacts.

DS is currently running back and forth from the garden bringing me dandelions He looks so proud of himself.

Frizbe - have you got or can you get hold of the Firefly graphic novel. It was meant to be a sort of cross over between the series and the film (I'm assuming telling us why the Shepherd sodded off etc), but I didn't manage to get it at the time and it would be great for DH for Christmas.

Flame · 08/11/2007 12:28

Today... I am staring aimlessly at the housework and the work work I have piled up around me, and wanting to rock in a corner.

I think DH can sort the kitchen when he gets home tonight, and possibly do dinner too. I need to get on top of work work, some of the house, and try and be a decent mother to DS for a change

I am so tired, my eyes hurt... I tried to have a sleep when DS did but I had nightmares

Frizbe · 08/11/2007 12:35

{{{hugs}}} Flame, its very hard trying to work at home and look after the kids, I'm so glad we can just about afford to pop ours in nursery at the moment (thank you tax credits) so we can work properly iuswim, mind you that doens't stop me missing the both of them, but gotta earn pennies right

someone just came in and told me we had the best merchandised shop in town moi might be mistaken for a professional! lol

Flame Firefly can get:

Firefly off companion 1 into black UK £16.99
or
Firefly off companion 2 TP UK £18.99

Let me know if you want either ordering!

Flame · 08/11/2007 13:08

Erm... I don't know if either of them is what I want or not Have you got a link of some sort I can look at them and see? (Just to be awkward)

I sooo wish we could stretch to another nursery session (a whole day would be heaven), but it just ain't gonna happen Keep thinking money earning job changing thoughts for DH please I just want to get off housing benefit and then all our money be ours iyswim. I'm still balancing out whether it would be worth us living with no luxuries (rare nights out/takeaways etc) and stop the housing benefit completely, but I think it would tip us that bit too much over the edge of complete skintness rather than not having money to throw around iyswim (sort of this time last year money situation)
