Thank you for nice comments about DD - will try and catch up later, but may be quiet for a few days.

Went out last night - really enjoyed myself. Turns out my friend thought I stopped talking to her at college because I didn't like her and preferred our other friend What had actually happened was that I was desperately in love with Kirk, she was seeing his friend, and I couldn't handle going out as a group with them anymore - so there was this sort of natural seperation (our other friend didn't like the group much )

Anyway, 12.30 Boy whinging that he is hungry so we leave to get food etc - get a call as we leave the club asking how much medicine DS can have - raging temp.

Got home, got his temp sorted, but keeps spiking all night/morning.

I sleep for a bit whilst DH takes over.

DS comes up to me sobbing, hot n sticky so I snuggle him in my bed and go to run a bath - not putting on my glasses as it involves leaning over him and disturbing him.

2 mins later "Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum - Flameboy got your glasses!!!"

Seeing as I don't have an ear pointing out by my nose, I am now wearing old contacts (which I hate, are the wrong prescription and make my eyes go fuzzy when I type). My glasses have been on the way out for a long time, so I think this is a sign that I am just going to have to admit defeat and spend the 360 fund

So - finding it hard to read properly and catch up, and won't be typing much until I have vision!!!! (Or sunglasses in the house which is my next option).

CantSparkleWontSparkle · 04/11/2007 14:15

Blimey - it'll be quiet on here with no Jas and no flame!

Hope ds is better soon flame.

Bikes - someone was telling me about a 2 wheel one without pedals, that gets them used to balancing and all that, without needing to actually cycle. Supposed to make the transition to a real bike easier, without the need for stabilisers. Sure I saw one somewhere after friend had mentioned it, but can't think where. My parents have a little bike type thing for dd up at theirs (got from a friend) - it's a 3 wheeler iirc.

Well we had a family trip to the leisure centre this morning. I burnt over 400 cals in the gym whilst dh took dd swimming. Had to persuade her to sit in her car seat with a sweet to come home, and she then spent the half hour journey screaming for more . DH took her for a walk to see the horses (she's obsessed!) when we got back, so that I could make lunch (scallop and prawn risotto - yummy!). He's going to take her for a bike ride later too, so that he can get some exercise.

mustsparkleandburnmore · 04/11/2007 14:57

The house of csws has suddenly got very active!!

I spent the last few hours helping to run the freecycle stall Got a lovely cotton/lace white duvet cover and pillowcases, absolutely pristine condition! Great, as our one has got holes in from having vehicles rolled up and down all the time. It looks king size, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed when we try it.Also got 2 ikea glove puppets for the boys!
Oh, and I got Jas a stairgate if she still wants one. Remeber she said she'd have had mine if she knew I was selling it. Anyway, I texted but no reply, so I've brought it home anyway. I'll offer it on here if she doesnt need it now.

CantSparkleWontSparkle · 04/11/2007 15:03

I'd assume that Jas still wants it, but if she doesn't, then I wouldn't mind for across dd's doorway when we put her into a bed. Although if I see my parents first then I'm going to pinch one of theirs, as no holes in wall required for it!

mustsparkleandburnmore · 04/11/2007 15:42

ah, I forgot you wanted one too This is a pressure gate, so you dont really need to make holes. Its going up the loft till one of you comes and gets it

FlameFromBonfire · 04/11/2007 20:32

What is it with you and glove puppets woman?!

I'm going to whinge - I can't read properly because I have had to take out the contacts because my eyes were sore DS is miserable, temp keeps spiking and keeps sobbing. I went to put DD to bed and he was sobbing on his front - didn't even look up for me to pick him up, just lay there crying

Urgh.

mustsparkleandburnmore · 05/11/2007 09:52

I've got spare glasses; what a shame all prescriptions arent the same!

We love puuppets.

csws, Jas got back to m e with a yes please for the gate.Sorry! Incidentally, she was also standing in the freezing cold to get reception, with dd1's phone as it had credit!

Frizbe · 05/11/2007 12:58

boo for glasses flame, and for ds being poorly when you'd been out. at your good night with your mate though, guess you'll be keeping in touch now then!

CSWS well done on the lots of activity did dh do his bit eventually?

Uni, I love those toddler skates at ice skating, am hoping to get the dd's there soon too! well done on the find
EPPM yes, dd2 is 20 mths and roller skating on the carpet in dd1s shoes and skates
Business is building nicely thanks for asking, cart site will be appearing soon ish! that's the next move.

MRM for the run, hooray! they still don't do freecycle here, and I haven't got the time to set it up.......think Nottm has a network, but we're too far out

Jas off line still she's getting a nice newly wired house, so hope your back soon hon!

What a weekend I'm all partied out! spent yesterday at Planet Happy as dd1 had her party there, then her mate had hers 2 hrs later had a lovely time, with some lovely presents, so a very happy dd1, she even got her yellow power ranger which is the best thing ever!
Good news for the kids cousin as well, he's been scouted by Birmingham City to go to their acadamy

FlameFromBonfire · 05/11/2007 13:43

I'm on even though my eyes hurt (eye test tomorrow afternoon).

DS is very poorly - the doctor's diagnosis this morning was "a bit poorly" - his temp has shot up again, he has a hideous rash over his boy bits and rash spreading over his body, so waiting until 2pm when I can take him back

Glad the party went well Friz

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/11/2007 14:03

Do you have any idea what it might be flame?

Yay for business building well Friz.

No worries on the gate mrm. Will wait and get mum's. Bed poss not best idea at the mo anyway, as she's tantrumming a lot at bedtime (inc nap time) just at the minute. She tried to bite me again when I was putting her in her sleeping bag this afternoon, but I avoided it, plonked her in her cot and told her to go to sleep once she'd finished stropping, then left her to it! She was full on until she obv got bored, then put her music box on, and then went off to sleep. Hopefully it won't take long for the message to sink in.

FlameFromBonfire · 05/11/2007 14:16

Nope

Waiting for duty doctor to call me back, discuss said rash over the phone, then tell me to come in anyway

I was going with just "viral rash" until I changed his nappy and it is just this big mass of redness with all merged spots. It's on the palms of his hands too, his sucked thumb has got the most. He has a spotty chin, but that is due to DH not bothering to clean off stickiness yesterday

My dad and the neplings have scabies It isn't itchy or looking anything like that, but I had better mention that too!

Oh, and to round off a fun day - DH called to say he got whacked in the head with a plaster cast (no idea how, assuming one was throwing it across the workshop to another, and he got his head in the way). Got checked out but they think he is ok - big lump, headache and slight dizziness (sure, he's fine to operate machinery ), they were going to send him to A&E (just down the hall) for scans etc but decided it wasn't that bad after all.

Thankfully DD is at a friend's for tea so I don't have to panic about the school run.

FlameFromBonfire · 05/11/2007 14:18

Hurrah for soon cart site, and for bed tantrums.

DD was always a bit like that - we just shut the gate and left her to it

Frizbe · 05/11/2007 14:23

CSWS re dd eh.....I think bed is best avoided too with her being like that.

Flame for ds, poor mite hope its nothing serious {{{{Hugs}}}} to you.
Sorry to hear dh has gotten whacked in the head too.

Its just started with drizzly rain here wtf? forecast said dry for the next 3 days

FlameFromBonfire · 05/11/2007 14:39

My eyes hurt, I'm tired but I can't sleep because I can't be doing with taking the lenses out and putting in a fresh pair.

Doctor still not called back Tempted to just bundle him in the car and go down there.

I know it is most likely nothing serious, but he is miserable (well, right now he is sleeping fitfully, but ykwim).

Frizbe · 05/11/2007 15:44

I agreee, chuck him in the car, plonk a very spotty boy onto them and let them deal with it.

FlameFromBonfire · 05/11/2007 17:31

They phoned just after I posted.

The crap very thorough exam this morning somehow missed the huge, pus covered tonsils

So - tonsilitis, strep rash, and thrush boy bits

FlameFromBonfire · 05/11/2007 17:58

Either my friend has found MN (unlikely, she isn't online), my other friend caught on to me being unhappy, or she thought better of what she said on Friday... just dropped DD back to me and told me all about how lovely, polite, well behaved and funny she was

mustsparkleandburnmore · 05/11/2007 20:33

Poor little thing.

Just had a bizarre converation with my Dad (birthday); both of us coughing and hacking constantly, so it took about 15 mins to say 3 sentences to each other

Thought of your dd actually csws, at bedtime. Told ds2 it was time for teeth; he trotted off to the bathroom happily, got his stool, got his toothbrush, let me brush, went back to give ds1 a kiss, walked upstairs, pointed to have the blind down... then climbed into ds1's bed . I didnt let him stay there.

Got 4 days of diary to do tonight (dh on evenigs, so time to myself!). And I've just covered the one for next yr that I bought today from poundland

Dh has taken the plunge and booked a man to fix the boiler on Thursday. So we'll have heating and hot water, but be in the red even sooner in the month than usual

And ds1's school application form went in today. So thats it. Cant change my choices. Now I 'just' have to wait till April 18th to see if he's got a place anywhere

FlameFromBonfire · 05/11/2007 20:54

Crush?

mustsparkleandburnmore · 05/11/2007 21:03

People who stalk me on other threads never find out my secrets

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/11/2007 21:08

Gizza clue!
Male or female?

mustsparkleandburnmore · 05/11/2007 21:21

No clues! Its a crush anyway, so it'll all be over before you've had chance to blink!

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/11/2007 21:34

I've blinked. Is it over?

mustsparkleandburnmore · 05/11/2007 21:35

Cheeky

FlameFromBonfire · 05/11/2007 22:03

Tis not stalkin... I was there first (on both of the threads)
