Yuck GMM that didn't sound fun for you at all
Promise not to dress shop on saturday (like I would fit into nice dresses ATM anyway )

geordiemacmummy · 09/10/2007 14:55

Guess I just get a bit down sometimes that there is no family up here to look after C if only for a couple of hours.... Since he was born dp and I have had 4 hours together out... Would just be nice to have an "occasion" to look forward to, to be able to get dressed up for, and to have a nigt out with dp just us...

Still C is soooooooo much cuter than her baby....oooops did I say that out loud He is 6 weeks and was weighed yesterday... 14lb 6oz

nappynuttynormabutty · 09/10/2007 14:57

hmm...sounds fun GMM NOT! Similar story here with relatives not being nearby. Luckily dad retires this year so they can come down to babysit while we go to dh's works xmas party. Just hope they're not here all the time (dad did joke about staying for a while....)

leakyR · 09/10/2007 15:18

Oh Dooby, thinking of you and your dd. Something like that never really leaves you .

No Eva news yet today. Hoping that's a good thing and she's had another steady day.

Went to meet a friend for coffee today. She's pg and just starting to feel flutterings. It's lovely to see her bloom. making me feel wistful about being pg

Used my advantage points to get a toy for G. Love feeling like I've got something for nothing and he loves it too. It's an activity frame and has lots of things to twiddle on it.

He's grizzling in his cot at mo, was hoping he'd have a nap but think I might need to go and booby him first.

leakyR · 09/10/2007 15:19

Oh and I LOL at Mom song.

And GMM your pal sounds nauseating

geordiemacmummy · 09/10/2007 15:23

leaky hopefully no news is good news.

Eddas · 09/10/2007 15:30

quick post as lots to do and dc's requiring attention[rolls eyes]

oooggs, i've just been to netto and they didn't have any It's hit and miss in there. Hope you find one soon. Maybe ask if any other mners will look in their local one?

Lucewitch · 09/10/2007 16:16

GMM compleletly agree that C is very cute

We have never had any family help either and it is so hard.
What we have done is go to this hotel and once the children are asleep we order a proper restaurant dinner and have it delivered to the room so that we still get an amazing adult treat.
The rooms have balconies overlooking the Loch and when its warm enough you can sit out there and eat/guzzle wine
The rooms also have saunas in them.

So not a child free weekend but a really lovely treat.

Lodge on the Loch

leakyR · 09/10/2007 16:28

That looks fab Luce. I'm already fantasising about a weekend away with dh and George.

geordiemacmummy · 09/10/2007 16:36

looks fab.... I'm sure someone famous got married there a while back....

Gonna think about getting a night away, leaving c with my parents, it has to be done.

Anyone know how long I could get away for without milk drying up? He is on 3 meals a day now, but still gets 4 b/feeds and 1 ff?

Lucewitch · 09/10/2007 16:37

It is fab leaky, we have gone there with 2 then 3 children but haven't attempted it with the four of them yet

Thinking of little Eva x

Lucewitch · 09/10/2007 16:38

Just take a pump and then do a 'pump and dump'

I have one you can borrow if needed

geordiemacmummy · 09/10/2007 16:39

i have a medela electric one that io hardly used... would be nice to have a night away but not ready to give up bf just yt...i'm far too lazy

Lucewitch · 09/10/2007 17:02

the 'pump and dump' option will keep up your milk supply for you GMM.

Sorry that last post was short, complete meltdown over here.

My M phoned to say that one of my Aunties died this morning (she was v sick so it was expected)
whilst on the phone DS1 bit both DD1 and DD2 so I put him in his bedroom.
I then put the tv on in the kitchen to distract the girls whilst talking to M.
DD2 then walked in sopping wet. She had been too busy watching tv (it isn't normally on at this time of day) to go to the toilet and had piddled all over the utillity and toilet floor

PillockInThePumpkin · 09/10/2007 17:05

how long would you be going for GMM? I've gone all day without feeding before now, but then Joe feeds at night.
I think it would take longer than one overnighter for milk to dry up, but you'd be in agony and Jordan like proportions!

Hellooo

I know you weren't looking for attention dooby but my heart goes out to you re. your little girl. I do think it's funny how the mind words where it takes a while to click why you feel like you do.. even after so long when you feel you should KNOW why you feel like that I'm so eloquent..

Anyone got Baby Einstein DVDs and do they like them? Was going to buy one today and then this woman whispered 'just download them from the internet' so I said ok and left! Moron (me not her). I don't want to download it, I want to buy it so I can have it in english or spanish and I can't burn dvds anyway so he'd have to watch it on our teeny laptop. I'm such an idiot. I didn't want to embarrass her but buying it (?!) So now have to go back tomorrow..

I have been highchair window shopping today and want to get this one

Ooh I had more to write but got to dash, will be back on once N is in bed.. x

geordiemacmummy · 09/10/2007 17:14

Sorry to hear about your aunt Luce. Hope your mum is ok.....I dont believe for one minute that my gorgeous little Benjy would bite his sisters!!

Ellie - hopefully a full 24 hours although its just an idea at the moment.

That highchair looks great.

C has just bitten the cat....Had C under 1 arm and th cat underthe other, C grabbed his leg and bit it...poor cat.

nappynuttynormabutty · 09/10/2007 17:19

Sorry about your aunt Luce x

Lol & at all the biting

Loving that highchair Maveta - v funky!

Lucewitch · 09/10/2007 17:52

Oh dear GMM, B must have been teaching C things when we weren't looking

Lucewitch · 09/10/2007 17:53

Thanks Norma and GMM

Loving that highchair Maveta!

VamPesha · 09/10/2007 18:00

Quick post just to say GMM - sounds to me like your friend is over-compensating for something to be going on and on like that, her life may be busy but I reckon empty at the same time!

Pinions · 09/10/2007 18:10

Thats just what I was thinking Pesha, but you worded it better than I could have done.

I generally avoid people like that like the plague.

Right off to bath ds x 2. Body feels battered tired from swimming .

Sexonlegs · 09/10/2007 18:24

Hi ladies

Luce, really sorry to hear about your aunt.

GMM, hope the cat is ok! K keeps pulling our cat's fur! I am sure they are going to get peed off soon and bite her.

Well, K will not stop rolling on to her tummy. No longer able to leave her on her mat to lie back and gaze at the animals!! She just gets fed up and cries as she can't roll back on to her back!

Right, need to get dd's in to the bath. Back later. xx

CaptainDippy · 09/10/2007 18:34

Lurking .... P crying, has been most of the day, exhausted!!

Oooooh, a night away

Outlaws were going to older 2 this weekend, but MIL is "too busy & tired"

MurderousMaveta · 09/10/2007 18:47

Well he´s down but I don´t know how long for. Luce - I missed the news about your Aunt, I´m really sorry x

GMM - I thought the same thing as Pesha re. your friend.. when people go on like that I tend to think ´who are you trying to convice here, you or me??´

Good effort Pinions re. swimming. Our jogging fell by the wayside when my dad went to hospital and I´m not sure when we´ll get back to it again.
