Hi Eddas, yep fishing all day, back at tea time. Holds no attraction for me either I can tell you!!
Am starting to think time away may be a good idea, but part of me is stubborn enough to think that if I go off to my mums house, he will have too easy a time of it on his own as I will have dc's with me!

I had a lie in yesterday and so the not so DH won't get up. I am up and have been to the shop to get some bread to make DD toast, the local shopkeeper probably thought Halloween had come early when I walked in!

Morning all.

Oh MJ, what a s*. I am really sorry things are not grand. Ikwym re going off with the dc's. I sometimes think about that, then I think no way - too much hard work and dh would have an easy ride. Although tbh, it would break his heart if I took the dd's.
Hope you get some lovely things from the Market - don't go wasting them on dh's lap tho !

IDOB, glad things are a bit rosier for now with you and dh. ikwym tho about not sweeping under the carpet. Things need to be addressed or they just rear their ugly heads' again don't they? Have a good day.

CD, you are such a busy bee! Have a good day.

WCL, you poor lamb. How is dd now? Hope you can get a break some time today.

SMB, a bit of an early start then? Hope you too can have a break. Perhaps T will have a nice 2 hour nap later on

Hi to everyone else I haven't mentioned.

I feel guilty to say that things are good here. Tmi, but dh and I had fab sex last night (brought on by the delight that was England's win over Oz!!!). Dh is looking forward to the results when/if we win the World Cup!!

Right, need a shower. Back later. x

Morning again everyone!
WCL, sorry to hear your DD is sick, has she been sick again this morning?
mammyjo, hope you manage to get through to your third child!
Well T was feeding last night at 2, 5, stayed awake till 6, had another feed, then 8! If it happens again tonight I think we'll start weaning tomorrow! Hopefully it's because he didn't feed a lot last night, he had one about 7 then was too tired to feed again, rocked him to sleep at nine. I'm surprisingly bright eyed and bushy tailed, DH is still asleep
Well am in the middle of breakfast but can smell that he needs a bath

Morning! And what a beautiful one it is here too..about to get showered and dressed and see what the day has in store for us..

Leaky - thinking of Eva and everyone who loves her x

Mammyjo - sorry things are a bit hard between you and dh right now, I really hope you figure it out x

Pinions - was it you who was asking about pushchairs? I think I said before I´ve got the Maclaren Quest and it´s fine but got nothing to compare it to. I might have preferred one which lays down completely flat if necessary, there is a maclaren one that does that but I can´t remember which.

I am thinking of getting this highchair does anyone have it? Any recommendations for/against this one or any other? The Stokke is too expensive so apart from that..

CaptainDippy · 07/10/2007 11:27

LOL Maveta - I sold that chair at the Nearly New Sale yeserday for £25! I only sold it because I now have three children and all the paraphenalia that goes with them and it was just taking up too much room in our house (we've got a plastic-y booster thingy with a tray that goes on one of our dining chairs for P.) I used it for the 1st two and it was great - looks nice too and converts into a sweet little table and chair set after they have grown out of it. NB: I found it wasn't great with K and S weren't sitting up unaided as they tended to flop about from side to side and occasionally disappear underneath!! You need to buy seperate reins to attach onto it as it doesn't come with a harness to fix the child into the seat. DD (albeit small) can still fit into it at 2.5 yrs.

CaptainDippy · 07/10/2007 11:28

There are cheaper versions of the Stokke chair you can get, but obviously being in Spain might prove a problem there! (Tchibo has done one, my friend has it and it is great!)

I have a similar high chair that came from mamas and papas but mine came with reins and a central bar to stop them slipping out which couuld be removed to use it as a seperate chair

Really easy to use around town, folds up like the others etc etc. Cannot praise it enough.

Leaky, meants to say, have been thinking about baby Eva a lot.

Makes one appreciate what you have got. xx

Hello all

Thinking of Eva and family Leaky x

Sorry to those of you having dh problems. Mine has had to go to work for an hour today (spoiling our Sunday afternoon...and ruining my shopping plans).

My parents bought us a highchair (while we were with them, we chose it) a while ago...opened it up last night...the box had the wrong one in . Had to take it back to Mothercare this am...got the most useless unhelpful assistant EVER...it's out of stock at all local stores and on the web so now have to start looking for another one. Suggestions appreciated (don't want to spend too much either)

.....for those of you asking about highchairs again is an emotive subject but for me this one,as they go up/down and most especially TILT BACK!!for 6-18 mths see link, and then definitely, from about 18 months onwards as they have more control we used the hard backed type that maveta linked earlier....

Thanks to those who have mentioned the prams......thanks pesha atlas pram thingy definitely a no go now!!

Hiya, re highchirs, we just used a plastic booster seat thing that attaches to a regular chair with B and will do the same for K. Has a tray on it which can be removed. We removed it when B was older and was able to sit up at the table, but still in the seat iyswim. It was about 25 quid from Mothercare. My brother used the same for his 4 dc's.

Hope everyone has had a good Sunday. We have been to the park this afternoon.

Right, better find B and give her some tea.

Re highchairs. We've bought this for J 2 years ago (slightly different pattern though)here and agree with everything Pinions said. Am using it for W at the moment in the fully reclined position. Have a look on the Boots website (we got ours for £80) We are now using this for J and this without the tray so he can sit at the table with us. My mum had a one of those mothercare ones given to her and J still uses it now when we go round, but in the table and chair mode. J did use at around 6 months but had to get reins and mum used towels either side of him to wedge him in, lol.

Leaky - thinking about Eva and your family x

Mammyjo - What an arse. And everything is so much worse when our mums are on holiday (have nowhere to escape to) Sounds like a big frothy hot chocolate with marshmallows is in order a la costa coffee? I'll text you x

Have had a lovely day. Been at out inlaws for buffet style lunch (stuffeed olives, lots of cheeses, etc) Dh sis and bil were down from London with their dd. Really lovely to catch up and show off my boys - all 3 were very well behaved

Take care all
x

Hi all

Eva is still in NICU but having a better day. No seizures today (thanks to meds) and she has slept a lot, like a newborn should. In her first 2 days because of seizures etc she barely slept at all. She has also taken some EBM through a naso-gastric tube.

ILs are now in London and have seen their grandaughter. MIL now in cooking, cleaning and caring mode to make things easy for BIL and SIL to spend as much time as possible with Eva.

Dh is happier but refuses to get hopes up too much(felt really positive on Friday then it all came crashing down when docs said she could die) He goes away for 4 days (and more importantly 3 nights) tomorrow. George has been lovely this weekend all smiles and giggles for his daddy. Think it has helped him a lot.

I've tried to plan something for everyday this week as I think being in the house all day makes the wakeful nights harder when I'm on my own.

Will probably be on here more next week with no DH to be "MN police"

Hope you had good weekends. Thanks for lovely supportive messages, it has been a comfort to both of us. Stuck here feeling worried and a bit useless.

How many weeks is Eva Leaky? I have missed the news, am gathering she is your prem neice? I do hope she pulls through, if I have assummed correctly, girls are notoriously fighters and ahve better chances of survival with less problems than boy prems (((hugs)))

DD, not doing too good, she has hardly eaten anything all day and fell asleep at 4.30pm so we out her to bed. She has a temp and is generally blurgh. Am sure she will be over it in the next few days, probably just a virus (she started pre-school last Wednesday so she's probably picked up something like they do).

Hi all. Leaky, glad Eva has had a better day. Thinking of you all, hoping Eva makes a full and speedy recovery xxx

Nutty, I have this high chair and its fab. It has a 3 position recline on the seat. It also has a teether toy attached to the tray which F loves to chew. And the thing I like the most is the fact that the tray has another removable tray over the top of it which can go in the dishwasher. She can get it covered in food and it will just lift off for washing. Forgot to mention that the height is adjustable too.

Well, F is taking to formula very very well, to the point that she doesnt want to bf from me in the day at all. I think she is just too nosey. I offered her boobie earlier which she bluntly refused! Tried her with a bottle of formula instead and she took 120mls in no time! Think she likes sitting up and looking around. Am still doing the overnight feeds myself though as she doesnt bother to try and look around when its dark

Thanks for all your supportive messages ladies. Dh and I are ok again now! Bloody men! I went to the farmers market and bought organic veggies and pork and made delicious sunday lunch. It was delish!
Runny, would love to meet for hot choc. Not working any day this week so whenever you are free xx

That was long and drawn out, will stop now

Meant to ask a question of the formula feeders. How do you make up your days feeds? Do you make them as you need as I notice it tells you not to make feeds in advance any more. I used to make ds all up in one go and leave them in the fridge. Would be grateful for any advice
