Well Maveta my advice is GET THE CHAIR NOW...and make sure they give you the right one . Have phoned all the mothercare stores within a reasonable driving distance (so basically from York to Sheffield - about 10 stores), have had to put up with numerous stupid sales assistants and nowhere has it in stock, plus with the crappy customer service I decided to forget it and went to Mamas & papas and got one there!

Pinions · 09/10/2007 20:57

You are most welcome.

Right off to Channel 4 to see what all the rave is about, but be warned I may come back swearing, depending.

CaptainDippy · 09/10/2007 20:57

& liath!

nappynuttynormabutty · 09/10/2007 20:57

You WILL be swearing Pinions

Pinions · 09/10/2007 21:00

30 seconds to go.

CaptainDippy · 09/10/2007 21:13

Feeling kinda glad we don't have TV in DippyLand!

Pinions · 09/10/2007 21:25

Pinions · 09/10/2007 21:28

CaptainDippy · 09/10/2007 21:32

Don't have a clue what you are talking about!

Bramshott - purchased your cups of Doidyness today - will post soooooon!

Pinions · 09/10/2007 21:40

Go girl, gym after 4 weeks!

CaptainDippy · 09/10/2007 21:48

Must go wash up .......

Sexonlegs · 09/10/2007 21:49

Given up watching Bringing up Baby. I can't really see what it is aiming to achieve.

Pinions · 09/10/2007 22:07

I know going round in circles a little.

I have to say that I found it fairly mild, was anticipating it to be much more 'ing. Thought CV was a bit of a plastic shiny face cow tbh.

And laughed at all the old biddies who were saying on public bf "ooh no not in my day, nooo never, no way". Bless.

I find it more contraversial that there are too many pitbull terriers and pitbull crosses running around our near neighboorhood.

Right, off again, cup of tea and bed x

Hello all,

Just popping in to say a quick hello and goodbye Have finished packing for me and dc just waiting for DH to do his now...although he didn't come home from work until 9pm and he had a very near miss on the motorway today. Aquaplaned on all the water and hit the central reservation, luckily he didn't hit anyone else and the car isn't too badly damaged.

Really please Eva has had a more settled day Leaky, hope the MRI scan goes ok. Still thinking of you all.

Luce sorry to hear about your Aunt.

Sorry can't remember anything else getting too stressed about holiday, plane etc.

Hope you all have a good 11 days while I'm away. Lots of love to you all xxx

elkiedee · 10/10/2007 01:10

Got home this afternoon, flight was a mixed experience, D very tired but kept having to be plucked out of Skycot due to turbulence. And taxi journey home a nightmare, traffic appalling and company booked online because they offer a carseat for an extra £5, but driver didn't know how to use it. D was desperate to sleep, thankfully he was happy immediately I carried him in and set him down on playmat, then took him to change his nappy and then put him to bed.

Leaky, sorry to hear about Eva Rose, hope news continues to improve - I last had a look at your Facebook profile and haven't done thread catch up yet.

runnyhabit, sounds like you did a great job bf your baby.

nutty, blooming marvellous has some mugs here including ones for grandparents, don't know if they're what you're looking for.

elkiedee · 10/10/2007 01:57

LW sorry to hear about your aunt.

Leaky, hope Eva continues to make progress.

Am also looking forward to getting a highchair but am hoping my kind mum might find us one (I can't cope with all those decisions, plus it's harder to get home without a car).

mj and khin, sorry to hear about your dhs and shocked at khin's ILs. I'm thinking I have it so easy on that front.

MurderousMaveta · 10/10/2007 06:48

Welcome back Elkie - hope we can see some photos soon! Sounds like you might be needing a few good sleeps over the next few days to catch up..

Have a brilliant holiday Ange - at your dh, glad he is ok.

CD - Hope you are feeling chirpier today - if I sometimes feel like that re. my life with only 1 lo well I can only imagine how it would sometimes feel with 3 little monsters angels It´ll all even out, you just have to love them loads and loads and then send them out to earn their fortune and share it with you

Well I gave N a bottle of formula as his last feed last night which he guzzled down. He then went down to sleep pretty quickly but still woke at 1am as usual for a feed. But then wouldn´t go back down (normally I can put him straight back in his cot) we had an hour of real crying.. dh was dealing with it and I shouted through 3 TIMES for him to check his nappy. Did he? Well you know the answer to that. Eventually at 2.15 he brought him into bed with us and I asked again - so he finally changed it and it was sopping. Poor love. But that still wasn´t really it, I think the formula wasn´t quite sitting in his tum right.. then again, after all that he didn´t wake again til 7am which is a bonus! Still, no bottle tonight I don´t think...

got to go get ready for work, chat soon, have fab days all off you x

SharpMolarBear · 10/10/2007 06:56

Morning everyone
Sorry to hear about your aunt, Luce
Welcome back elkie!
Well, we have been up for an hour and he's vomited 3 times
Never mind, at least he's entertaining himself while I have breakfast

busywithIzzy · 10/10/2007 07:57

Popping in again really quickly to say goodbye. We're leaving in a few minutes. DH is getting his priorities right as usual setting up things to record on Sky Plus!!

Bye for now xx

MurderousMaveta · 10/10/2007 07:59

Morning SMB! Just sat here at work letting my mind shift into gear over a morning cuppa.. it's a national holiday here on friday so my last day of the weeeeeek really pees my boss off when there are national holidays here but ho hum..

Got all stroppy with dh last night about his bloody band rehearsals.. he went at lunch yesterday so effectively between 9.30am and 10pm we saw him for 1 hour. And he's doing that again tomorrow. I am so torn between wanting to help him try and do everything he wants (work/ school/ group/ us) (hmm is it telling where we come in that list??!) and telling him off for trying to do too much. He tries different combinations of days all the time but no matter what I still end up getting annoyed at him being gone so much. Like now, he thought he should do 2 lunchtimes so the weekends are all ours. But that means that on the days I work we don't see each other except for 10mins on baby handover and on my days off just 1 hour at lunch. The alternative is the band eating into our weekend time. I feel like neither of us can win I know it seems really juvenile, playing in a band and everything.. but it means the world to him and I couldn't bear it if he couldn't play..

Sexonlegs · 10/10/2007 08:18

Morning all.

Ange, you have probably gone now, but have a fab holiday!

Elkie, welcome back from yours!! Hope the jet lag isn't too bad!

SMB, hope T is ok.

Maveta, hope you get a better night tonight.

All ok here.

Quick query re feeding. Dh seems to think K could take more solids, but how on earth do you judge it? I am wary of her taking too much and then puking it all back (not helped by my fear of people vomiting incl. my own children)!!

MurderousMaveta · 10/10/2007 08:29

Sol - my solution to that would be that your dh takes charge of feeding her if he thinks she needs more lol.. maybe not helpful, but it's what I would do

geordiemacmummy · 10/10/2007 08:55

SOL, C is taking 3 "meals" a day just now, in addition to 4 or 5 b/f and a ff. He really enjoys it which I think makes all the difference.... he actuaaly has quite an amount too, usually a "jar" full although its normally porridge mixed with pureed fruit. Only introduced 3 meals this week, but he has slept from 7.30 til 5.30 .

If B isnt hungry then she wont take it? Maybe? Orshe might throw it up...trial and error? Sorry thats not much help.

Lucewitch · 10/10/2007 09:49

Morning ladies

Thankyou for kind messages, my aunt lived in America so I wont be able to go the funeral .

Have a great holiday BWI

Leaky, so pleased to hear that Eva had a better day and hope that she continues to get well.

PSML at the BLW a la cat

SOL, S blows rasberries on the spoon when he has had enough of his solids and covers me in it!

GMM, did you get my email? I dont seem to be able to send email to any hotmail addresses from my yahoo account anymore

Bramshott · 10/10/2007 09:58

Thanks Dippy!!

Just popping in v quickly as work is maaaad at the mo! But wanted to say:

Ellie - Orla isn't drinking much formula either (as I have posted here ad infinitem!) and I have just dropped her 9.30 bf so she isn't having a feed between 7.45 and 4.00 - just solids, water, and the offer of 2 x 2oz beakers of formula which she doesn't really drink. She seems to be fine and is eating for England (or Ireland, being a patriotic girl!). From what I remember, N was the same at this age - only bf morning, mid-pm and bedtime, but I wasn't too stressed about that as I wasn't back at work so I wasn't forcing the issue iyswim. I know the current vogue (whispers) is for more milk and less solids at this age, but I do think we can get a little milk-obsessed when actually they can thrive very well on less milk. O has a yoghurt every day, and cheese in many of her purees.

SOL - I am of the shovel it in until they won't take any more school, but then I do have a particular reason for trying to get more food into Orla! She's never been sicky with food so far, whereas she will be if she has too much milk.

Leaky - glad to hear that Eva is doing a little better. Still thinking of her with fingers crossed.
