Hi all especially to those we haven't seen for a while Fingers crossed for you MrsMcj.
Hopefully no news is good news for jen.
Trace sorry to hear about chloe. Hope she is home soon and you get good advice from the dietician

NatalieJane · 18/01/2008 08:49

Jen had a baby girl by emergency C/S, sounds like a bit of a rough ride by all accounts, but they are both doing well, hoping to be home later today I think

LuckySalem · 18/01/2008 20:49

Hi all,

I know DP has been on mumsnet announcing news so I'm not going to go through it all again (unless anyone wants to know more)

My incision is quite cute and not too painful (until I try to get outta my super comfy sofas)

She's SO worth the hassle and I don't care about the crap we went through cos I've forgotten about it now.

DP is dancing round the room with her to Stevie Wonder songs at the moment so Cute!!!

Will try and keep up with you all at some point but don't know how.

NatalieJane · 19/01/2008 07:39

OMG!!!!!!! Wow Jen, Congratulations! I have read your dh's version of your birth story, I am very very impressed at you both getting through such an ordeal. She must be so worth it though ((((((hugs))))))) to all 3 of you.
Lovely name by the way, I have a niece named Aaliyah . How many days did you go overdue in the end? Well done and once again the biggest congratulations to you all.
I think I am almost as impressed at your dh posting on mn as I am at you having an emergency section!!!!!
I am officially 4 days from my due date now -official due date 24th Jan - this thursday!!!!
Cant believe it, still feel in shock that its come around so quickly and there is actually a baby in there thats just about ready to come out and face the world .
Im hoping I dont go overdue. We did a really long walk with the dog today, over 2 hours. Not that long really I suppose, but the longest Ive been able to do in a while! Feel like the babys head is right between my legs sorry if tmi! Its all very uncomfortable at the moment, as Im sure you will all remember! Have told dh we might have to attempt sex at some point next week, and I'll be down at tesco for the fresh pineapples tomorrow
Hope to be back soon with some interesting news!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

LuckySalem · 20/01/2008 21:13

Right oh then people, I'll try and give you some kind of an update about how we're getting on here.

So... After the C-section (13 days late btw PCM) I had about an hours sleep and then spent the rest of the day awake seeing visitors and feeding. Also Aaly had her first bath which she wasn't too please about but she smelled sooo nice after. Both midwives that were there for the HB gone wrong came and gave me a run-down about what happened and why which made me feel better about it all. One of the MW's got that first poop cos I was still hooked to drips and a cathetar and couldn't get out of bed. Took her about 10 mins to clean We managed to get another couple of hours sleep that night.

Next day more visitors.. tireing, more feeding. Finally got my cathetar and drips removed and a shower (soo nice) got to wander around the ward and get shouted at for not taking it easy ahh well. By that night I'd had enough and wanted a good kip in my own bed!!

Friday - I told MW's I was going home. got abit of noises about not being ready but I think they knew I wasn't kidding. DP brought me some clean clothes (heaven) and Aaly had a change of clothes to come home in. She wore a blue babygro with "my first football" on. LOL. A couple more visitors and then sleep and she did sleep quite well.

Saturday - MW's came round to do checks and give me another injection for DVT. Also some iron tablets cos I was aneamic (should have been over 11 and only 7 ) We then went to Tesco's to get some baby gros that fit her. She has to wear early baby cos she's soo small.

Today - I've been feeling pretty crappy, headache and my stitches are killing me. MW's came again this morning to give me last injection for DVT. They're coming back on Tues to give her her heel prick test.

We're breastfeeding well and alot easier than I thought it would be although sometimes I do kinda feel like nothing but a plate for her as daddy gets all the cuddles in between

Ok ENOUGH now..... there's not much more to say and I've rambled so speak to you all later.

pussycatmomma · 20/01/2008 21:17

ahhh lucky! 13 days late though, omg.
You sound like you are doing BRILLIANTLY!!
You mentioned Aaliyah is in early baby sizes, how much did she weigh? I thought I remembered you saying her growth was off the 90th centile on the charts before you had her? Just shows they can be wrong cant they! Looking forward to getting my ass on to the post natal thread, feeling like it will never happen at the moment!
xxx keep us posted wont you.

LuckySalem · 20/01/2008 21:20

She was 6lbs 2.3Ozs. Which considering they were saying she was going to be at least 8lbs they were WAY off!! lol.

laughalot · 21/01/2008 09:58

Jen they said that to me with both kids and aidan was 7lb 10 and lauren 6 15. Glad you are doing well I bet it seems like a dream world at the moment but it gets easier I promise, sounds like you are doing a fab job though.

Pussycat you have to have a boy now .

NatalieJane · 21/01/2008 10:21

Hello everyone

Jen sounds like things are getting off to a great start Does she feel like she is your's yet? Took me ages to come to terms with the fact that DS1 was mine

PCM, lovely to see you The last few days are the worst, but try to enjoy them, you will miss your bump when it's gone - honestly, though it might not seem like it now!! Keep us updated

Hiya Lota and Trace, how did Chloe's test's go Trace?

Well I have almost got DH to agree to TTC A few more days work from me, and I'll have done it I am so excited Can you tell? LOL Whoooooo hooooooo

Hope everyone is well ?

laughalot · 21/01/2008 12:35

I want to ttc

NatalieJane · 21/01/2008 12:59

Yeah, come and do it with me (I don't mean do it with me, you won't get a baby from me!!!) but we could be on the TTC boards together again

pussycatmomma · 21/01/2008 13:20

hi anyone still around?? I am officially going stir crazy today! Cant seem to get my ass into gear to do anything, all stuff ive done recently includes: cleaning house top to bottom (tick) washing up to date (tick) bathing the dog (tick) cooking food for freezer (tick) washing all babys things in non-bio and even ironing the bloody babygrows (tick) .............what else can i possibly do?????
Im bored thought i would like this maternity leave malarchy but with no baby yet it seems pretty pointless!
Pouring it down with rain means i really dont fancy going out walking, plus we had a really long walk yesterday and i feel tired.
Dont feel like cooking.
Nothing much on tv.
Been bouncing on the bloomin' inflatable birthing ball, but really, its not an ideal way to entertain yourself with 3 days till your due date is it!!!!
Sorry, rant over!!!!!
anyone there?
bet you have all run for cover now havent you !
xxxxxxxxx

NatalieJane · 21/01/2008 13:27

I am here sweetie

The last few days are hellish, and then if you go overdue, it get's even worse!! But, you just have to remember that it will all be worth it in the end, it really won't be long before you are sat cuddling up to your new baby

Grab a big bar of Galaxy, and a DVD, and a comfy blanket, and just sit and relax, think about your baby and visualise your body opening up in prep for the birth, it will happen

Galaxy is my answer to everything

laughalot · 21/01/2008 13:32

Hi nat hi pussycat. I was 10 days late with aidan and 2 with lauren but I had pre eclampsia with her. I would like to ttc but my body wouldnt handle it again I dont think I was very poorly after having lauren. Pussycat sex curry and pineapple xx

pussycatmomma · 21/01/2008 13:35

ahhh, natjane
How are you my love? How are you feeling? I read your post that you are going to be ttc again in the near future, thats wonderful news. How old are your boys now? You do seem to do the whole yummy mummy thing very very well, I have to say! 3 little ones is no mean feat im sure.
Yes, I think i may have to resort to the chocolate and dvd combo..... I really really hope I dont go overdue! I wont be able to manage much more Im sure. It just feels so weird, like someone has pressed the pause button on my life! Everyone else is busily getting on with things, dh out to work and back etc as normal, while i feel suspended in time! Really, a very odd feeling indeed. Especially as I know once the baby is here, its going to be mental!

NatalieJane · 21/01/2008 13:35

I had PE as well with George, I think they just keep a better check on things. You can buy the wee test strips on eBay, and also a BP monitor, and I believe you only have a 1 in 4 chance of having it again anyway. C'mon, be a sport woman

Pussycat, sex, curry, pineapple, and galaxy
