I can drive, I got a major, when I did the reverse park I finished up with the car about a foot away from the pavement, had only ever done that once whilst I was with my instructor, and he said if you find yourself too far away from the curb, leave it, it is a minor, but if you try to move it closer and then touch the curb it is a major, so you're better off getting the minor obviously, so I left it and she gave me a major for it.
Also got lots of minors that he told me wouldn't be a minor, so think along with my lack of knowledge (spose I should have read that highway code after all!!) and him telling me the wrong things, I ended up failing.
TBH though, I wouldn't have felt confident enough to go out on the roads if I had have passed at that point. We live in the mountains so there are loads of very steep hills to contend with, and because we always took more or less the same route while I was learning, I still to this day don't know how to safely go round aroundabout and turn left or right from it, because the two roundabouts we came across on my learning route, we alsways went straight ahead!
