Night TA - sleep well x

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 21:39

babyboos tooth came through with no trouble at all. she just let out a yell, but had been dribbly for a few days and a bit red cheeked the day before. It's not gotten any bigger yet though, but she is still very very dribbly.

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 21:40

her nappy area has been very very dry which may or may not be down to the teething.

oh, and she's had a bit of baby acne on her chin.

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 21:42

Oohh I hope K's are that easy ...she is also very dribbly with the beginnings of a rash on her chin.....haven't seen her neck for weeks now...hidden by the chins

Has your DD got jabs as well this week Daisy?

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 21:46

Yes, on Tuesday. Not looking forward to them, as it's three injections this time

I have been advised by mums a few weeks ahead of me to dose LO on clapol prior to the jabs.

I'm pretty sure that was andiem's advice too.

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 21:50

Yeah I think I'll do that as well. Mine are Wednesday. Although K was OK after 2nd set, and my nurse is quick, she was still screaming when she got the 2nd jab so hopefully she'll be organised and have a 3 ready to go......mind you she is getting good at holding her breath when she cries/screams now which is horrible. I blow on her face but my heart still misses a beat

foxybrown · 30/09/2007 21:55

could you bf whilst nurse does jabs? lo only had a little scream last time. still heartbreaking though, isn't it? doesn't get easier sadly.

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 21:57

I FF so I give her a dummy and hold her very tightly and talk to her and sssshhhh her....still screams tho ...last lot for a while thankfully

foxybrown · 30/09/2007 21:58

sorry charlie, that was for Daisy.

calpol 20 mins beforehand and a large glass of wine for us mums!

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 22:00

wine sounds good

My mums answer to teething pain is rubbing whiskey into gums and a bit in the bottle ....never did us any harm ....I farking HATE whiskey..

riabutterflew · 30/09/2007 22:04

i am PATHETIC. i miss having irritating, annoying dh here. he's only been out 4 hours. there is no-one to argue theories with (Miss Marple).

i am going to be lost when he is back at work.

don't tell him though...

justbeme · 30/09/2007 22:04

Evening!
Had a nice weekend with DD1 and her friend - took them to a roller skating session today which was good and cooked lots of nice food for them.
Didnt get to look at old photos, but I guess I'd rather do that with just dd1 and myself and then we can reminice together.
I may try a dream feed tonight - do they just latch on cos of the smell? surely they just fall back to sleep after a couple of sucks?

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 22:05

How does that work then foxy as my nurse had me hold her one way and then the other. do I have to sit with both norks out and swao sides?

Oh, when we went to IKEA today, I successfullly managed to BF in the cafe, and then again when we went to the warehouse to pick up our boxes. It was the first time I've felt comfortable doing it too. Was quite funny in the warehouse as they had some lovely comfy sofas and the rugby was on the telly and I was surrounded by all these middle age blokes If they noticed they didn't make it obvious to me.

Although, mental note to self...lovely and flattering though long tunic tops are, they are not ideal for public BFing!

riabutterflew · 30/09/2007 22:06

though i wouldn't sat no to that spy-bloke off the tesco direct ad. what page is he on?

my cat is asleep on the back of the chair behind my head. aww

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 22:08

LOL Charlie, my gran's failsafe remedy when we were growing up was a teaspoon of brandy.

toothache....brandy
period pain...brandy
sickness....brandy

My sister, who was a sickly child, feels sick at the smell of the stuff now. Me, I love it and blame my grandmother entirely for my unnatural attachment to alcoholic beverages

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 22:09

I want a new cat....I miss my brucey It's nearly a year since his untimely demise.

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 22:09

Ria I need my DH to explain all the plots to me ....he will insist on wathcing these films with complicated story lines.....I'm very thick sometimes (He would say well, you are blonde....)

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 22:12

My aunt always had a bottle of "special medicine" in her fridge which cured all the kids various headaches / tummy aches etc....came straight out of the tap as well

Right off to feed misery-guts DD...night all x

riabutterflew · 30/09/2007 22:18

my granny = sherry trifle. more potent than anything, even though she was from a strict old-fashioned methodist family and didn't drink!

i don't understand most things dh watches, and I'm not blonde

Oberon is getting old now. cats are fab - even when they are too scared of the dark to go downstairs on their own in the night for food

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 22:19

Oberon...what a fab name

foxybrown · 30/09/2007 22:20

Daisy, last time the nurse worked around us. basically I think i had lo on my lap laying flat and leaning over her. just take your time and wait for lo to calm down before switching. Even, if like at our surgery, they are running 40 mins late and want you out before you've put them away!

I'm off to bed, nite all!

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 22:23

last time I think I had about five minutes before I needed to leave for getting to school on time for DS. This week I shall be waiting at the door at 1:30...or better still get there at 1:00 and feed her leisurely before clinic starts!

riabutterflew · 30/09/2007 22:23

thanks. my plan for sometime in the future is to have two grey kittens called cobweb and mustard seed.

would be easier to get dh to agree to another baby...

Bumper, has your hair stopped falling out yet? Mine is in the full throes, I look like a mexican hairless dog

It's horrible picking up clumps of hair in the shower. Dh says it doesn't notice but I know he is just being nice as I found a bald patch this morning
