Hi Elsbels, nice to 'meet' you, come back soon....

foxybrown · 05/10/2007 20:42

Hello Elsbells. This thread can move fast, so come on whenever you can. Email Holly if you fancy joining the Secret Santa too - we did a Secret Babyshower and it was lovely.

Just got the kids to bed - DP came home from work early and suggested we all go out for dinner. Lovely idea, went to a local 'child friendly' restaurant, and the food was atrocious. Been there several times before and it seems to be getting steadily worse. Children behaved pretty well considering they are shattered and its after school on a friday, but I don't think anyone really enjoyed it.

Bit that it was such a nice idea, but went tits up.

foxybrown · 05/10/2007 20:43

Daisy, watch she doesn't lull you into a false sense of security! You know how manipulative these babies are - you'll be having another before you know it

riabutterflew · 05/10/2007 20:43

hi elsbells - the more the merrier.

my DS was in NZ, but is in Kuwait now. I haven't seen them since 2000 and DN was born since then. I would have liked her to be GM.

Boys all asleep currently

Just enjoying a last couple of glasses of wine before we cut it right back

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/10/2007 20:45

does anyone fancy a game of scrabble or are you all off having a life this evening?

DH is blardy working. He has a big presentation to M&S in London next week, then he's meeting some private clients (he's trying to set up his own consultancy, which if it takes off will mean I never have to work again (other than being his office manager) so I can't complain)

faylisa · 05/10/2007 20:46

I'm always up for a game (we are watching a boring film) but can't promise to be around much longer than about 9:30 as am knackered.

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/10/2007 20:49

LOL foxy, I'm working some reverse psychology on DH at the moment. If I keep harping on and on and on about another baby, he'll eventually relent and let me have a cat.....devious

I've found a breed that doesn't produce the same type of dander as most cats, so is less likely to cause an allergic reaction (although I'm sure his cat "allergy" was more to do with the 20 roll up fags he smoked per day, but as his stopping coincided with our cat's demise, he's convinced it was the cat causing him to use his inhalers on a daily basis).

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/10/2007 20:51

you have been challenged faylisa....but don't ask me what that word means.....

riabutterflew · 05/10/2007 20:52

i'll play, unless you've started already?

loonylovegood · 05/10/2007 20:59

Oh, I forgot to say some secret santa details!

Spending suggestion I think will be £10. That means if you don't have much cash then you can just buy something small. You can, however, spend more than that if you want. It's up to you!

What does everyone think about that?

foxybrown · 05/10/2007 21:01

Daisy - just lurked on your BabyFly thread. Just one thing to say

AWWWWWW at MRR!

Sounds good to me Holly.

riabutterflew · 05/10/2007 21:01

good plan holly.

I am excited already. can the deadline be in December though?

foxybrown · 05/10/2007 21:05

Holly, how do we get it to work for you though?

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/10/2007 21:06

there is a general swap thread on here somewhere for secret swapping....maybe we could prevail on one of those lovely ladies?

or my DH has just volunteered!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/10/2007 21:07

foxy...i think he's just scared I'll shout at him

faylisa · 05/10/2007 21:08

£10 sounds good

sorry Daisy, DH insisted on talking to me for a min so got distracted, have played my word now

trendaverter · 05/10/2007 21:08

Hi All,

I am in for secret santa. Daisy - yes I did report her to MNHQ but was told thre was nothing they could do really. Fair enough.

Have had a crappy afternoon. Things keep going wrong. DS was weighed and has gained less than 1lb in a month....that amongst other things have made me feel like shite.

foxybrown · 05/10/2007 21:08

So is anyone going to spill on who they bought for on the original swap then?

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/10/2007 21:09

The tudors on BBC2...it's making me ...and giving DH ideas

foxybrown · 05/10/2007 21:10

TA, he had to slow down at some point! Please don't feel bad about that. What else has happened?

You were so positive earlier. Sorry to hear its gone downhill.

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/10/2007 21:10

I bought for lilkel, but she guessed as the leeds postcode gave it away! This time I'll get DH to post it from some obscure place somewhere in the country!

riabutterflew · 05/10/2007 21:10

TA. Have a good weekend.

DH is watching Torchwood and it's the scary cyberwoman one. I'm off to read my book...willbe back in an hour when I dare return to my chair!

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/10/2007 21:16

sorry TA, missed your post. He is still a big fella and still on the upper end of the charts so don't worry. Could you post up something about it on the feeding threads and get some advice?

I've just had a look at DSs red book and from week 13 to week 17 he gained 1.5 lbs. I don't think that only gaining 1lb is that bad over the same time frame. Their weight gain starts to slow down as well.

Have you started him on solids yet?

foxybrown · 05/10/2007 21:18

I want to know if the person I bought for has guessed...

faylisa · 05/10/2007 21:19

TA, don't worry, they all go through growth spurts and slow spurts and, like my bruiser, your DS is on a high percentile so I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. Just keep an eye on him.
