Andiem - I had to stop myself buying DS a pumpkin suit yesterday - I'm not sure I can keep resisting it until the end of October though - they were SO cute!

andiem · 02/10/2007 14:06

back and resisted the pumpkin suit bought a cute top instead but can I hold out too. Have told ds he can have some friends round for a halloween tea am I mad

foxybrown · 02/10/2007 14:17

Matalan have some cheapo decorations etc for halloween. I too thought of having a friend or two over - and once again i'm getting over-excited and planning a major event.

Still, takes my mind of Christmas

andiem · 02/10/2007 14:20

know what you mean foxy love a good children's party me

foxybrown · 02/10/2007 14:42

Andiem - I went to Ikea croydon last night, and only found christmas wrapping - although I did miss out a large chunk of the 'marketplace'. Did I miss the christmas stuff, or did they only have the paper & ribbons when you went? I feel a return trip coming on ....

riabutterflew · 02/10/2007 14:44

thanks faylisa

grrr - my mum has taken over making her own birthday tea

andiem · 02/10/2007 14:59

hi foxy there was a whole section of decorations so you must have missed it got some really cute little elves and things

trendaverter · 02/10/2007 15:04

OMG!!!!!
10 years ago, my old boss introduced me to DH1. DH1 took me to Aus and got me a job...where I met DH2. Left DH1 for DH2. Moved back to the UK with DH2.
Just found out that my old boss from 10 years ago is now working with DH2. Small world....

andiem · 02/10/2007 15:04

spoooky

Charlie999 · 02/10/2007 15:10

Afternoon Ladies - have 5 minutes to myself whilst DD is infront of CBeebies

Trace - hope things are OK and you are getting some answers. Thinking of you all x

Ria - what a shite letter....had some good advice from residents here though! Hope you get your money x

DD is still clingy...think my mum will be going to France with DH and I'll be staying here ...wasn't quite the idea. Pretty sure she is teething now as well...generally miserable and can feel something underneath her top gum....

oh bloody hell - crying AGAIN...I'm not used to this

riabutterflew · 02/10/2007 15:17

is your ex-boss aware of weird situation ta? he's not best mate of DH1 is he?

the world is far too freaky...

bumperlicious · 02/10/2007 15:26

i am pinned to the sofa again. dd won't sleep unless on the breast. she hasn't slept till 11pm or so these passed two evenings. argh. 3 days till we move! i feel like shit. will calpol help dd's cold?

andiem · 02/10/2007 15:32

personally bumper I am a nurofen girl one dose is not going to hurt her so I would give it. I am of the view that when i have a cold I take something as I feel crap why deny dcs this just because they can't tell us. I always just give one dose and see how things are as long as you are not giving loads then it is fine

trendaverter · 02/10/2007 15:40

I just told ex boss that he works with DH, not heard back yet but no he's not good mates with DH1, they haven't spoken in years.
Can't see it causing any problems other than me finding out and having a minor heart attack at work!

Just a small world hey.

loonylovegood · 02/10/2007 15:47

Afternoon! Look at my profile at the Countdown pic. It just came out and tickled me somewhat, so I had to take a photo and share it!

Charlie999 · 02/10/2007 15:56

like it....your other pics are lovely as well....

bumperlicious · 02/10/2007 15:56

lol holly!

Jamantha · 02/10/2007 16:00

Hi. We're back from long weekend at my parents. Was mostly lovely, but incredibly stressful at times. Can;t begin to catch up with nearly 350 messages on this thread I'm afraid.

Jamantha · 02/10/2007 16:04

andiem - re halloween costumes, dH is in Seattle at moment and says he has seen some very cute baby costumes and got something for DD

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/10/2007 16:22

lol holly, very funny!

bumper, sorry DD is feeling a bit unsettled still, and you too Charlie. Re teeth, iirc, it's the bottom ones that come in first, but not to say the top ones aren't on the move too. I always found with DS that the bottom ones were worse; maybe cos they don't have gravity on their side?

DD has had her jabs and is not a very happy bunny She was asleep when the nurse stuck her and she screamed the place down. She was so upset that she wouldn't even feed. And even though I got there early and was number 4 in the queue to see the HVs, I was still nearly farking last to see the nurse. I think at least three people snuck in front of me (probably using school run as an excuse).....as a result I was late for the school run myself. It's a good job I'd taken the car!

Tis indeed a small world TA, but it could've been worse....it could have been DH1 working with DH2!!!

Ria, sounds shite, but I hope your solicitor can sort it out. Agree they shouldn't be with-holding money or holiday pay that he has earned. I hope you can sue the f** for constructive dismissal.

halloween shmalloween. I hate all the americanisation of it, what the fark is wrong with a hollowed out swede like when I was a kid...trick or farking treat indeed. DS wants to go trick or treating this year...shite .

mind you, it is much easier to hollow out a pumpkin than a swede.

annobal · 02/10/2007 16:25

Hi everyone! Fleeting visit before I have to go and sort out supper. Hope everyone is okay. My parents arrived last Wednesday and so far all is okay.

DS1 had a birthday party on the weekend which was manic but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. DS3 has a cold, poor thing, he looks very sorry for himself

Charlie999 · 02/10/2007 16:37

Ahh Daisy - has she had calpol...We're tomorrow...got HV as well, but we get appointments here. How much did DD weigh?

My DD seems to have grown out of 0-3 stuff overnight ...going to have a sort out of her clothes now and hope she's got enough!

Jamantha - glad you had a nice time...why stressful?

Charlie999 · 02/10/2007 16:37

Hi Annobal

sputnik · 02/10/2007 16:47

hi Annobal....
bye Annobal

sputnik · 02/10/2007 16:56

Seems it's the week for colds. Bumper, are you using saline drops? They really help. Do you think it wass a sore throat or blocked nose making her pull off when feeding?

They're very big on nebulizers here, Baby Sputnik is doing them for his horrible cough and DD for her catarhh. Seems to work very well. He is much happier and feeds better after doing one.
