not sure sputnik, it's been going on longer than the cold so don't think so, but probably not helping. saline drops don't seem to be helping much, just upset her a bit.

jamatha, going away with LO is always stressful, no matter how nice or understanding the people you are staying with. (parents are almost worse!)

glad things are going ok annobal. you haven't wanted to kill them yet?

Jamantha · 02/10/2007 17:05

Poor babyboo with the jabs. We've just got our invite to go next tuesday.

Stress while away was because DD had to face loads of new things - long car journey, stayed in different house, bed etc, met loads of new faces all wanting a cuddle, met a dog for 1st time and so on - all of which was on top of her not feeling well because of a cold, so we had plenty of tears. She did really well, and was pretty good, but at times it was just too much for her, bless her. Particularly when my sister brought all her family round to my parents at once, so there was 10 adults allchatting, and it got very noisy and definitely too much to cope with and she cried for ages and ages. Then my mum served tea just as DH rang (he had said when he would ring and it was sandwiches), so I ended up holding a crying baby while on the phone and then feeling like I'd missed out, so all in all I was tired and stressed. This and the continued crying contributed to me not screwing the top on her bedtime bottle straight so she got milk poured all over her - more tears and then ages to get her settled and asleep.

dais i hate getting dd weight, i always have to weight an hour. but apparently they do it at a local bumps and babes (not the one i go to)

Jamantha · 02/10/2007 17:08

Oh and when I said to my parents that I didn't think it had been a great idea to have all the family visiting fpr the whole afternoon as it had been too much for DD and therefore made it very stressful for me, my dad seemed quite annoyed and seemed to think I hadn't wanted to see them at all!

andiem · 02/10/2007 17:19

hi annobal

jamantha I think it is alway stressie when you go somewhere we had fil wedding last weekend oop north long car journey absolutely skanky hotel (fil booked it ) and lo was fine but fed more and was generally a bit more unsettled I think they maybe sense that you aren't as relaxed as well

Jamantha · 02/10/2007 17:23

definitely agree with them sensing if you're not relaxed

on the up side, on the way there I BF in car at services, with a vanload of teenage boys parked next to me. They were all going to and fro between their van and the bushes (rather than going into the services to use facilities!) and at first I was a bit about getting norks out infront of all these boys. But I just got on with it and it was fine.

bumperlicious · 02/10/2007 17:24

oooh, don't forget 'bring up baby' tonight!

andiem · 02/10/2007 17:29

can't watch it bumper makes me too stressie

jamantha mine has been fed in m6 toll services both ways and exeter when we went to devon

Jamantha · 02/10/2007 17:33

I didn't mind about doing it in the car at all - just a bit nervous at prospect of about 8 teenage boys noticing and lining up in front of car to watch

Also fed in cafe with my parents at the seaside yesterday, which was fine. Dad had used to me whipping my top up by then I think.

Jamantha · 02/10/2007 17:35

Also can't watch as too stressful, and also our freeview box has jammed on C4 with sound only and no picture since I went away

bumperlicious · 02/10/2007 17:57

still on the sofa, dd still feeding/sleeping. had a brief break for a nappy change and the possibility of dd having a nap in her basket. but nooooooooo!

Jamantha · 02/10/2007 17:58

same here bumper

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/10/2007 18:03

Lol at my DD. She is sitting on DHs lap, and just turned around and sucked on his shirt pocket. Methinks she might be hungry!

yes she had calpol, but is still grizzly and grumpy.

weight is 13lbs 12oz...so still between 25th and 50th centiles.

TA....what happened with DSs weight? has it picked up again? and foxy....with your DD?

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/10/2007 18:04

bumper....your other thread is hilarious!!

bumperlicious · 02/10/2007 18:04

happy days jamantha!

hopefully dh will be back soon. i need a drink!

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/10/2007 18:12

jamantha i got mine out in the warehouse are of ikea, right underneath the tv which was showing rugby...all the blokes waiting to pick up their stuff got a right eyeful!

i hope the next few days without DH go well.

we got a letter home from school today saying that a man tried to abduct an 8 year old boy who was out playing after school. It's very quiet around here.....am

sputnik · 02/10/2007 18:14

Always seem to be feeding in the car thesse days too.

Baby S seems to be finally getting over his cold and is much happier today, still stuck on sofa though.

sputnik · 02/10/2007 18:17

Shit daisy, no wonder people are unwilling to let their kids play outside these days. It's a real shame.

bumperlicious · 02/10/2007 18:18

thank god for mn and laptops!

daisy, how scary!

annobal · 02/10/2007 18:57

Back again, fleeting visit to doctor with DS3 as he went all floppy. But he is fine and now in bed.

Hope everyone's well. Is babyboo still feeling sorry for herself Daisy?

annobal · 02/10/2007 18:58

Just read your post re 8yo boy . That's scary!

bumperlicious · 02/10/2007 18:59

oh annobal - do you know what was wrong?

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/10/2007 19:04

The magic of calpol now has her sitting up in her chair, laughing at the world and being very alert and wriggly.

From past experience this will go on for an hour or so and then whe will crash out!

It is very scary about that little boy. apparently the man approached him, asked his name and then when the boy wouldn't answer tried to grab him. He (the man) was carrying an iron bar

There was a dodgy looking bloke in the doctors surgery this afternoon as well. Usually doctors patients sit at one end of the waiting room (where the consulting rooms are) and the clinic visitors etc at the other end. This greasy looking bloke came and sat in amongst the mums and babies (and of course there were a few BFing and nappies being changed on laps etc). He sat there for about half an hour and then left without seeing a doctor

Blardy cities.....full of weirdos!

bumperlicious · 02/10/2007 19:15

Just succumbed and given DD calpol. She screamed at it last time so just gently gave it to her on a plastic spoon.

Jamantha · 02/10/2007 19:25

at 8 yo story.

Hope calpol does the trick, Bumper. I just put DD to bed a little earlier than usual as she seemed exhausted. I guess seeing everything at home again after a few days away can be tiring too. Mind I can hear her making more noise than usual upstairs, so my day shift may not be over quite yet.
