posting quickly to have this thread on my list and will return later, off to pick up the indian food in a min.

Wilkie · 21/09/2007 18:12

Just wrote a really long post with loads of personals and J managed to clear them all. What is the ket code to get your message back? Ctrl and ????

Ironing - my MIL does mine. Although she doesn't do J's cos I love doing his ironing.

RGee - highlight of my afternoon (both exciting AND interesting) was I removed my tampax to change it and thought, hmm, what's that still poking out??? only to find another, yes another, tampon still in there! How the f**k I got two in there at once and how long the other one has been in there is anyone's guess How minging! I must have a fanjo like a welly top

Aquarium is up and running, just waiting for fish. I think I am far more excited about it than J.

Lizz - why don't you throw worms at me?????

eandh · 21/09/2007 18:22

ctrl and z

LAL/Wilkie couldnt reply to texts as out of allowance but will post later

geoRGEEweasley · 21/09/2007 18:24

WILKIE .....

....oh and pmsl.....

geoRGEEweasley · 21/09/2007 18:33

Canmummy - never heard of Brasserie Blanc - where is that? Love Loch Fyne, but think my fav Leeds restaurant is Sous le Nez.
Do you reckon you'd be able to meet up with me and Vino at some stage?

Lal just think of those skinny jeans with all that walking! Since going back to work, my exercise levels have nosedived. Just joined owrk gym though so keep repeating imustgotothegymimustgotothegymimust..

2H I gave lo a couple of spoons of Ambrosia rice pud after our roast dinner last Sunday, and she lapped it up. She would've quite happily eaten a whole tin, but dh loves it too. I keep having fights with myself about food things, as I am a bit Nazi when it comes to lo's food, so wasn't too sure about the rice pud. Am all for my home cooking, but she is quickly expanding her finger foods - she had a whole Yorkshire pud at nursery yesterday. I was so I luurve Yorkshires! Am starting to chill..she had some M&S fruit loaf today....

Jodie are you having an indian takeaway for tea?? Nom nom!!! I quite fancy a garlic nan.

Wilkie · 21/09/2007 18:47

RGee - what flavour nan have you got? My nan is a bit tough, doesn't taste of much - she gets a bit annoyed when I try and eat her actually

Wilkie · 21/09/2007 18:48

Oh and finger food - 11.30am is now finger food lunch. Dairylea sandwich, Soreen malt loaf, manderin segments, toast, rusk, erm am now running out of other ideas. Any suggestions for quick and easy lunch that I can also pack and go?

canmummy · 21/09/2007 18:53

Brasserie Blanc only opened a couple of weeks ago so not sure where it is RGee. It's one of Raymond Blanc's chains so sure to be good . I'm sure I'd be able to meet up with you and Vino - I work Tues and Fri so any other day would be fine.

After all the talk this pm I cracked on and decided to clean the house - and after over 3 hours of cleaning it looks no better! But still haven't got round to the ironing

Dh has just rung me in the middle of typing and he's sneaked a look at lo's blood results (he works at the hospital) and it looks like it confirms a milk allergy . Another 3 weeks I think to her next appointment so will see what they say then. So feeding her is even more of a nightmare - milk is in everything!

Even worse he's just spoken to his mum who's admitted she went yesterday for biopsies on her breast as routine screening found a lump she's not told anyone and went on her own so a scary time for all of us ahead

laughalot · 21/09/2007 19:14

Wikie has a big fanjo wait till num 2 comes along.

laughalot · 21/09/2007 19:15

Sorry can hope your mum is ok x

canmummy · 21/09/2007 19:19

Comparing fanjo's Wilkie - I went to the dr's this am to see if they could see my new coil ok and she struggled - she kept huffing and puffing and sighing! Made it worse that I used to work with her so know her . Anyway, at the end of the examination she said to me "I'm surprised you managed to feel all the way up there!" I just said it was determination

Lizzzombie · 21/09/2007 20:05

ugh...2 tampons!!!
could be worse...my sister pulled the string off of hers once and had to get it removed by the Dr!!!!

Carotte · 21/09/2007 20:08

I've done that before, Wilkie. It is worrying with the TSS risk but at least you discovered it. Some don't.

eandh · 21/09/2007 20:18

can sorry to hear about your mil

Wilkie I so pmsl when you text me that story today, I was smirking to myself at the desk and kept giggling had to show my clsoest mate at work who said shes done that before!!!

LAL - re preschool/fulltime. Ellie will do tues, weds and thurs from january (when her free sessions start) and hoping to do mon-thurs from next summer (if my mum will take/collect her on mon) she cant do fridays as mil doesnt drive and to far to walk

Finger foods in this house are :
rice cakes/jam on toast/rucks/malt loaf/gingerbread/bread and butter/banana/jaffa cakes ummmm cant think of any others but am so much more relaxed with hattie than I was with ellie am fairly happy for her to try anything

Carotte · 21/09/2007 20:25

F has toast, ripe pear, carrot, rice cakes, oat bars, sweet potato chunks, nectarine, banana, dried mango, anything soft and chewy really.

LadyTophamHatt · 21/09/2007 20:29

wilkie, ds4 has philidelphia, houmous, jam or peanut butter sandwiches (or on toast) at lunchtime. Scambled egg has been a success too.

Hes had scotch pancakes with maple syrup a few times too.

I've converted to BLW now.

We had toad in the hole today, I served him up a dinner too, just cutting it up and he loved it.
He had pasta the other day too....I was almost in tears at how bloody sweet he looked feeding himself.
By the end of the dinner his face was covered in sauce. It looked like he'd been faked tanned!!

Strange boy gaggs more when I spoon feed him pureed food then when its chunks of whatver posted in his mouth.

Carotte · 21/09/2007 20:32

It's funny isn't it, F hardly ever gags, well maybe on a bit of pear skin but he's just spitting it out really.

eandh · 21/09/2007 20:34

hattie is the same so I tend to put chinks on her hairchair plus mash some up with potato masher/back of fork and pop some in her mouth in between her eating (carrots are her fav and mash potato althouh thats a messy one)

forgot to say she loves beans/spaghetti on toast/boiled/scrambled egg and this morning she had rice krisipes for breakfast (didnt make them for her but was sorting her weetabix whilst ellie ate her breakfast and went in dining room o find ellie feeding hattie rice krisipies)

ratfly · 21/09/2007 20:34

at tampon stories! Losing the string has always been my greatest fear - don't want anyone poking around up there uninvited!

Canmummy - what were the symptoms of the milk allergy? S has an allergist appointment next Fri, and I am hoping they will test for milk allergy. It's a right PITA avoiding dairy, and I'm just hoping that I am overreacting to his eczema flaring... Tried S on tomato today (seems everything has either dairy or tomato in, so it'd be useful to be able to eat one of them) and he flared up badly Need to repeat it again to make sure, but I'm not hopeful.

And about mil's results.

I NEVER iron! I always wear really tight clothes (seem to have got a bit tighter after pregnancy ) so creases just get pushed out. lol. Dh irons though and did get into the annying habit of ironing his clothes before work, then leaving the ironing table and iron out. Because I clearly have nothing better to do in my day than to put it away. So I chucked it all in the back garden instead. Lol. Needless to say, it hasn't happened again.

eandh · 21/09/2007 20:35

chinks=chunks
hairchair=highchair

Carotte · 21/09/2007 20:35

What jam do all yours eat then? I've avoided any sugar so far he seems to have a sweet enough tooth, likes his dinners sweetened with fruit, chicken with apriciot, sweet potato with lentil and so on. Not sure he'd just eat plain unsweet food like potato and broccoli.

Carotte · 21/09/2007 20:37

when I say what jam I mean, raspberry, do they like the pips, or lumps in strawberry? I really fancy something with jam on right now, or maybe honey...

eandh · 21/09/2007 20:39

ellie loves honey although have to remind her hattie not allowed it yet!

Hattie is not fussed whatever jam is in from of my/mil/mum cupboard is what she gets she is partial to marmite and marmalade as well.

Have to say both of mine are savoury eaters- hattie loves veg and gravy and ellie will ask for roast dinner over chips anyday

Carotte · 21/09/2007 20:44

Do you do her separate gravy with less slat?

Carotte · 21/09/2007 20:45

salt! I give him bits of our roast but not gravy, hadn' thought of it really. Mmm, I want a roast now too. I am hungry.
