Have decided I'm not gonna go levellers I'm just too tired, I dont know how I'd get back cos dp would need car, I'm not sure how D would be for my mum with bottles, I've nothing to wear, i'd feel like a gooseberry, when it finishes I'll just have to come home and sit on my own watching tv and I KNOW I'll be buzzing and wanna go out and have a few drinks after but wont be able to which will be so frustrating and I've not really listened to any levellers for nearly 10 years probably and I have already seen them 3 times!! Seems a shame not to go but its just not gonna work for me with it being on a thursday rather than fri or sat.

seems like I'm making excuses doesnt it wonder why I'm doing that then?!
Off to ring my mum anyway and let her know.

oooggs · 04/09/2007 21:31

especially at the making breakfast

StealthPolarBear · 04/09/2007 21:43

Pesha I know exactly what you mean about making excuses - when actually the main problem is it's just too much effort and stress!
Have a good holiday oooggs
Doesn't everyone have a quick one before breakfast?
Sorry, am a little drunk (1 glass of wine so far) celebrating feeling slightly better, will probably feel ill again tomorrow so don't have any sympathy for me- it will be self induced by a glass and a half of wine

StealthPolarBear · 04/09/2007 21:44

any classic threads to contribute?

Sexonlegs · 04/09/2007 21:45

Oooggs, sorry to hear you were poorly. Sounds like you have bounced back!
Enjoy yur holiday - wish we were off again.

Pesha, just looked at your pics, and they are all absoutely gorgeous!

Feel a bit pants. Tummy feels really grumbly. I am wondering whether it is a touch of IBS, as I am so stressed!!

We are due to fly to Stockholm on Friday (the 4 of us), but I cannot face it. We would be staying in a family room in some hotel and I really am not sure how I would do the bottles. I thought about presterilised bottles and cartons of formula, but I would need a frigging plane of my own for the amount we would need! At the same time, not sure how I would sterilise the bottles and make them up like normal without access to a microwave and kettle. It all seems like bloody hard work. Also I hate sharing a room with the girls, as I find it really hard to sleep. Plus, we get back on the Sunday, B starts school on the Monday and dh is away Monday and Tuesday night. Am I being a miserable old bag, or do you think I am justified in thinking it is a complete pita??????

Sexonlegs · 04/09/2007 21:47

SPB, pmsl, as I thought you were referring to sex when you talked about a quick one before breakfast!!!

nappynuttynormabutty · 04/09/2007 21:50

Pesha - shame you're not going to Levellers but understand how stressful and how much of a hassle it is.

SOL - same for you really. It sounds a hassle trying to sort bottles out (I keep wondering about that sort of thing too!). Would be a shame to miss your holiday tho.

StealthPolarBear · 04/09/2007 21:51

Oh FGS not you as well as DH!!
How about cold water steriliser - then you just need a container? Have a microwave steriliser but it has occured to me that this would be simpler!

StealthPolarBear · 04/09/2007 21:53

That sentence sounded a bit nasty, was meant to be funny as DH is also obsessed with sex, e.g. are you feeling better? good...wink wink. Well he doesn't actually wink obviously or I'd PMSL but...anyway...
And no, I agree it's a PITA but then I'm a miserable old bag. Bet you'll have fun when you're there though and I've always fancied visiting somewhere like that

nappynuttynormabutty · 04/09/2007 21:54

Ah yes, SPB's idea about a cold water steriliser is good!!!

Sexonlegs · 04/09/2007 21:55

We were only going for the weekend, and dh and B would still go.

Can you get cold water steriliser tablets does anyone know? I still have the issue re milk tho.

Norma, I have to say, whenever we went away when B was a baby, we always stayed in an apartment/house, that had all mod cons which ade life far easier.

StealthPolarBear · 04/09/2007 21:56

Can you not buy milk there? Or is that one less thing you'd rather not stress about? Will your hotel room have a kettle?

StealthPolarBear · 04/09/2007 21:57

I meant the cartons BTW!

nappynuttynormabutty · 04/09/2007 21:58

Yeah, we're not going away (other than visiting family) but we didn't go to a wedding in Guernsey a while back because it was going to be too much of a hassle (and expensive) to take everything we needed!

StealthPolarBear · 04/09/2007 22:06

Goodnight all

weeonion · 04/09/2007 22:08

sol - coul you buy a botle of the milton solution to bring?

stockholm is a beaut city - really lovely so it woudl be ashame if you were to miss it. xoxoxooxo

Sexonlegs · 04/09/2007 22:12

I think a trip to Mothercare is in order to see what the options are.

Thank you lovely ladies. Off to bed now as am shattered. Going school-shoe shopping tomorrow - wish me luck!! Apparently the shoe shops are mobbed!

nappynuttynormabutty · 04/09/2007 22:13

night all, i'm off to bed too x

Peshatlast · 04/09/2007 22:17

There is a HUGE thread somewhere about not needing to sterilise (although i do cos I find it easier than making sure its spotlessly clean etc!) or milton stuff or whatever so just bung it in a bowl. And dont most hotel rooms have kettles? Or just get yourself a travel one?
Or are you doing what I just did and kinda making excuses cos really its just more hassle and stress than its worth? I agree it will probably be a lot of hassle for just a short weekend away and just before school might not be ideal. Only you know how you really feel. Do you think you might actually enjoy it once you were there though?

Katy was also pmsl thinking you meant a quickie shag!

EllieK · 04/09/2007 22:17

SOL - Milton do sterilser tablets

OMG - how many pposts

Sorry changed name then obviously didnt refresh before slowly adding a message!

EllieK · 04/09/2007 22:19

although I must say, I don't actually sterilse anything when Joe has bottles, just wash it well, but I guess in a hotel that won't be so easy

Peshatlast · 04/09/2007 22:21

Nutty - was that the wedding that was gonna be all alternative or am I thinking of something completely different?

elkiedee · 04/09/2007 22:26

SOL, yes you can buy tablets for cold water sterilisation, I've seen them for sale though we use liquid. Will your hotel room not have a kettle? And I know it's a pain to carry but how many times in 24 hours does K feed and would it really be that impossible? Or you could get the sachets rather than a big tin to save on carrying weight. Danny normally has 5 feeds, occasionally a 6th if he wakes up in the night.
