DS is having a regression on nighttime sleep since moving over to combi - seems to want to wale at 1am whereas before would always go through until 3am...

Yeah, I thought the same @Stroan - going to leave the finger food for a few more weeks and build up to it from smooth purees to textured etc. It's not the route I planned (because of the effort of making separate purees and meals not because i think negatively on purees and spoons ) but the amount of gagging and vomiting was a bit ridiculous.

It's also a tad off putting sharing the same meal as your baby when you see them regurgitate it in a huge vomit basically 30cm from your plate 😂😂😂

Geegrl19 · 17/02/2020 01:23

@stroan @dyra will try to give him something to fiddle with while feeding. Sounds painful re the blocked duct though
@myspiritan glad to hear it passes, am trying to be very vigilant when he feeds to try to minimise any pain! Oh for the days of being able to scroll on my phone while he fed.

@horehound. That's great you have had some sleep and you have that support. Long may your system continue! Amazing the healing effects of a couple of good night's sleep isn't it

Has anyone bought their highchair yet? I'm not sure what to be looking for. I see expensive ones but are they really better than a basic IKEA one?

Stroan · 17/02/2020 11:11

IKEA ones are great, but the legs take up a lot of floor space. I trip up on then all the time, plus don't have the space in the kitchen for it to sit out. We have one as a spare for visiting kids.

We have a Stokke Tripp Trapp that we got second hand. It had a newborn seat so DS has been in that until now and we've converted it to the proper highchair. I like it as there aren't many nooks and crannies to catch masticated food.

Highchairs are gross so my main criteria would be something that's easy to clean. I also like ones that let them pretty much sit at the table rather than being off to the side.

Dyra · 17/02/2020 12:03

I'm still looking into highchairs.

My main criteria as is easy to clean as well. I hate the idea of crusted in food in all the nooks and crannies of the cushions. 🤢

I'd quite like one that can fold as well. Space is slightly at a premium in my kitchen, but I might be able to find space if the right highchair couldn't fold.

I like the idea of the Stokke/BabyDan (they can tuck under the table), but I can't work out how to begin BLW with them. Surely you need a tray? Confused

The search continues!

yevans · 17/02/2020 12:40

We ended up with a secondhand red kite one which folds up quite nicely but has lots of nooks and crannies for food to fall into in the cushions...getting round this by getting a bibado. It's a bib that straps onto the tray covering the gap between baby and tray so no food down there. Haven't tried it out yet as we haven't started weaning but heard very good things about it! They are quite expensive for a bib mind but hoping I won't need to buy any others bar that

Dyra · 17/02/2020 12:45

Oooooooh. I keep getting adverts for bibados, and I really like the look of them. How many did you buy @yevans?

Dipsy77 · 17/02/2020 12:50

I’ve been at the EPU all morning I’ve had a missed miscarriage I new something wasn’t right. Been given meds and sent home. I’m so glad I have Ruby as at the minute I feel a bit shocked/numb but she is keeping me going I’m been positive it wasn’t meant to be and I can always try again although it’s still very upsetting 😞

yevans · 17/02/2020 12:52

I got a code for two for £30 (using the spin wheel that appears when you go on their website) so I figured one for home and a spare for when I've forgotten to clean it, travel etc. Have to give big thumbs up for their customer service as only one arrived so I emailed them, they replied within a few hours and the next day shipped one out to me, no questions asked! They were great!

Megan2018 · 17/02/2020 12:59

@Dipsy77 do sorry to hear that, how bloody sad. Hope you and your OH are ok in the circumstances. Nature is so cruel x

Stroan · 17/02/2020 13:21

@dipsy77 I am so, so sorry to hear that. Please take care of yourself, we are here if you need to rant or talk X

THAT90sBITCH · 17/02/2020 13:25

yevans · 17/02/2020 13:49

@Dipsy77 so sorry, didn't see your message before mine posted! So, so sorry to hear that, look after yourself, we are all here for you! Flowers

Dyra · 17/02/2020 14:17

So sorry about your loss @Dipsy77. Take care of yourself. ❤️Flowers

DustyDoorframes · 17/02/2020 14:23

Oh @Dipsy77 I'm so sorry!!! That's horrible!

DustyDoorframes · 17/02/2020 14:26

Ps @Horehound I'm so glad things are looking up a wee bit!!!
And @Dyra the trip trap pushes right in to the table so no tray needed, the baby uses the table surface. It's ace for BLW. They really do grow with the child, and are perch-able by grownups. We have two, and DC1 still loves his so looking like we might be in the market for a third...
That said... the ikea ones go in the dishwasher if you take the legs off...

Dipsy77 · 17/02/2020 15:33

Thanks all going through this is bad enough but my OHs ex wife is been such a bitch. We were supposed to have his 9 year old son today and tomorrow and he has said sorry I can’t leAve Lindsay or ruby and don’t want his son around this she has replied well what do you suggest then I have responsibilities too !!, he is starting to cave and has said well he could come here tomorrow, I really don’t want him here it’s not a good environment at the minute I’m feeling like crap x

Horehound · 17/02/2020 15:49

@dipsy77 I'm so sorry. I really feel for you.
That's so unsympathetic about his ex ..is she normally so hostile? Poor you

kyles101 · 17/02/2020 21:34

Oh @Dipsy77 I'm so sorry to read about your loss. I hope you're taking care of yourself tonight. Does dp have any family that could take his son tomorrow instead? The ex is being a bit of a cow to not accommodate in these circumstances. Also just not really what you need to be thinking about is it. X

I'm so very sorry @Dipsy77 Thanks

KnobJockey · 17/02/2020 22:11

Sending lots of love and thoughts @Dipsy77, so sorry ☹️

Horehound · 18/02/2020 10:48

Hope you are ok @dipsy77 and that you got the ex issue resolved?

Does anyone have one of these koo-di duo hi chairs? I think it looks like food won't get stuck and I like the fact it turns into a wee chair later on.

Geegrl19 · 18/02/2020 11:08

So sorry to hear @Dipsy77. Take care of yourself Flowers some people are just so insensitive too aren't they, honestly Hmm

Dipsy77 · 18/02/2020 11:43

Thanks all, last night was horrific hoping I’m over the worst of it now I’m trying to remain positive things happen for a reason it just wasn’t meant to be this time. We will try again once I feel strong enough to go through early pregnancy worry again xx

Horehound · 18/02/2020 13:02

Wishing you all the best @Dipsy77 x
