you'll find it works well in all eventualities, growth charts, eldest children, MILs, give it a try

Thank you for link - Have a lovely time hon. xx

Anyone else around??

liath · 17/08/2007 11:21

Morning,

Pesha, good luck at the dentist. My toes were curling reading your root canal cock-up story, you poor thing.

WO - I saw your thread on the shocking BF "advice" you've had. I'm definitely going to try and organise some kind of BF update for the local GPs as they're mostly clueless.

Bumble - you might find L takes the EBM fine from someone else, especially as you won't be there smelling all nice & milky . Have a great time. I'm out tomorrow night too for our wedding anniversary (nine years - where have THEY gone??). GMM, definitely you need to go out loads to get C & your mum used to it !

I remember babysitting my nephew years ago as a baby (he's 12 now) and he just started bawling the moment SIL & BIL walked out the door. Within the hour I was on the phone to my mum in floods of tears saying "how do I make him stop!". This was in The Time Before Mobile Phones so couldn't even get hold of SIL. We all laugh about it now.....

Am supposed to be at the gym but they rang to cancel the creche due to being short staffed so instead I am baking muffins for the nursery fund-raising this afternoon. Unfortunately several disintegrated and I've had to eat them .

Better go, I can hear this really wierd shrieking noise.....seems to be coming from the direction of West Lothian.......

liath · 17/08/2007 11:23

MIAST hasn't been on either, hope she's OK.

CaptainDippy · 17/08/2007 11:26

Yes - MIAST hasn't been on in yonks and yonks ....

Hi Liath - Real shame about the muffins! May I suggest contacting your local NCT to set something up to educate GPs about BF - I think that is a bloomin' good idea actually - May have to implement something down here too .....

AngeG · 17/08/2007 11:46

Hello...I'm here.

Feeling a bit down at the moment so haven't really had anything to say. I do think of you all and lurk

Have just been texting Smole for an update.

"Jesse now putting on weight 9lbs 10oz. But has high blood pressure to his lungs & needs to go to London for a detailed scan"

"Turned out he wasn't keen on milk so now has it flavoured with banana nesquik!"

I asked how she was she replied "Fine. Jesse is developing the same as normal babies at the mo. Could do without all the hospital visits"

haven´t caught up - just back from post natal class where the pediatric nurse came in to share her very unsolicited opinions...

  1. If a child hasn´t been vaccinated and she saw that same child fall off their bike, she wouldn´t go running to help them

  2. When children have come tto her with dog bites she makes the parents feel responsible because it was their fault

I am totally speechless.

newy · 17/08/2007 14:59

I've never been to the postnatal group thing before, just usually wander aimlessy round mumsnet joining random threads. My ds born April 2007, do I qualify?

Eddas · 17/08/2007 15:01

of course you do

everyone will want more details though

How old are you/where are you/do you have any other dc's, that kinda thing!

Welcome to the thread

Katy44 · 17/08/2007 15:02

maveta (and weeonion- saw your thread), shocking!
LuceWheel - well done!! (is that accountancy?)
Ange, sorry you're feeling down, is there anything we can do? If you want to vent, you know where we are. Thanks for the smole/jesse update, good to hear he's doing well but it all sounds very stressful for her.
Yes, MIAST if you're lurking, say hello

Katy44 · 17/08/2007 15:03

Hi newy, I've seen you on other threads, didn't realise you were new (though the name's a bit of a hin )
What's your ds called? How's he doing? We all seem to be in a dribbly phase at the mo (well, out LOs not us!) and quite a few are teething!

Katy44 · 17/08/2007 15:04

what on earth is a hin? I can only assume I meant to write 'clue' but my fingers got tangled up!!!

Eddas · 17/08/2007 15:04

hint

Katy44 · 17/08/2007 15:04

ah
i probably meant 'hint'
[lightbulb]

Katy44 · 17/08/2007 15:05

thanks eddas
bit worrying you know me better than i do

Eddas · 17/08/2007 15:06
Grin
newy · 17/08/2007 15:09

HI, he's called Sonny, weighed 9lb 5oz (ouch) and doing quite well I think. He's a bit of a hooligan and currently crying so must go....

Katy44 · 17/08/2007 16:11

Mine keeps laughing at me, when he looks at me
Do I have something amusing stuck to my face?
