CaptainDippy · 07/08/2007 18:20

Sexonlegs · 07/08/2007 18:42

Hi ladies. Busy on here today.

Hope you are all well.

Bumble, hope you can get some rest you poor love.

Ange, hope Izzy is ok after her jabs. I am dreading them next week.

Forgotten everything else.

The passport still hasn't arrived. They said it was going to be delivered today. There has been no note left to say they tried either. It really is hopeless.

Hope everyone is ok.

WaspElly hasn't been on for ages. Has anyone heard from her??

hi all! Just popping in to say I'm glad to hear no-one want to hunt me down in rl and clonk me round the head with a tin of sma!

Had a quick catch up and now have images in my head of poor Jack at 18 being potty trained , parakeet P and mammyjo with a walking stick! This thread is already bizarre...

right screaming baby needs bedtime. see you later xx

Eddas · 07/08/2007 19:24

Boo

Couldn't stay away

But, i have had another 'weird' day,

I called my boss yesterday to see about fulltime work possiblities. He basically said no without saying know IYSWIM. But today he rings back to say that someone's handed their notice in and basically it would be a yes

only snag is dh and i have spoken and decided to stay as we are still nice to know they'd have me back.

oooggs · 07/08/2007 19:29

hope you are ok eddas, did G enjoy her time away?

Eddas · 07/08/2007 19:40

hi oooggs, i'm ok, i think I feel really restless.

G loved her two days with MIL, she just gets her own way all the time without MIL knowing. It's hilarious, the stories MIL comes out with when I collect her.

On the friday I took ds round to stay the night as we were going out. G had decided they were all walking to Morrisons so MIl says that's fine. So she puts on her shoes(MIL that is) and G says no nanny not those ones, the ones upstairs. So off pops MIL to change said shoes. G then says put this hairband in Nanny and hands over a white hairband. MIL simply swaps over from one hairband to another.

MIL turns to me and says that it wasn't until they were half way to Morrisons that she realised what she'd done! She just does whatever G tells her. and belive me I wouldn't tell MIL what to do she raised 3 boys and I know SHE was in charge!!! The word 'wrapped around her finger' spring to mind!

On another note when I went to pick dd & ds up the police had taped off the road next to MIL's and it turns out there'd been a fight which turned into a man being punched, knocked to the ground and later dying! Nice, a murder seen next to where they live! Nice are as you can imagine

Katy44 · 07/08/2007 19:49

Hi everyone
Eddas about the murder
How is everyone? I have spent most of today waiting for T to poo
Anyone who says motherhood iosn't glamorous should look at my lifestyle

Eddas · 07/08/2007 19:54

how many typos in my last post. the last sentance should read -

Nice, a murder scene next to where they live! Nice area as you can imagine

oooggs · 07/08/2007 19:56

blimey eddas

WestCountryLass · 07/08/2007 20:00

Were you camping CD?

Pinions · 07/08/2007 20:01

DS1 fast asleep. DS2 screaming his head off..........aaaaaaarrrgh..........

Pinions · 07/08/2007 20:03

Eddas murder.

I thought you were boycotting us!

Eddas · 07/08/2007 20:07

i am

bad thing is no one was shocked, when i asked mil why it was all taped off she said 'oh someones probably been stabbed' Getting worryingly more common

in their row of houses(around ten, if that) there's 2 houses that regularly have the doors knocked down by the police looking for drugs, nice. Unsuprisingly they have put in for a house transfer. Not sure anyone will want to swap though

Sexonlegs · 07/08/2007 20:14

Eddas, lovely to have you back again! Blimey, your mil's street sounds a bit of a nightmare.

Hope you are feeling ok.

I feel like I am going through a sort of post baby crisis. Just feeling a bit bored of the whole thing. I absolutely love K to bits and have a fantastic bond with her, but I think restless is a very good word to describe it.

Had her weighed again today. 12 pounds 6 - again only 7 ounces in a fortnight. She is following the 25th percentile nicely.

Hope everyeone is having a good tea/dinner/supper. See you later. xx

Pinions · 07/08/2007 20:22

Blimey SOL theres supper too eh .

maveta · 07/08/2007 20:29

Evening everyone, just popping in quickly.. where is the recipes thread? I can´t remember but if someone wants to cut and paste the recipe for tortilla is:

dice potato (4 medium?)
dice onion (1 medium?)
fry until done and lightly golden on the outside (though not as golden as chips). Drain well.
Wipe out the pan with kitchen roll, or use a clean pan, whatever, probably about the size of a side plate or a bit bigger.
Add a little bit of olive oil and put on LOW heat. Tip back in all the potato and onion and pour beaten eggs on the top (approx 6). Don´t forget to add some salt to your eggs before you pour them on.
Let it cook on low, do NOT be tempted to turn up the heat.. leave it until the egg looks almost cooked on top, maybe a weeeee bit runny but hardly at all. Whack a plate on top (ideally a flat one that fits inside the pan and lies flat on top of the tortilla). Turn the tortilla on to the plate and slide it back into the pan on the raw side. Give it a few more minutes and VOILA!

These measurements are for the small frying pan I have but its kind of a case of trial and error as to how much potato and onion will give you good sized tortilla. The eggs should just cover the mix so if in doubt add e.g. 4 and then add the other 2 if needed. Or if you´ve put tons of egg in increase the other ingredients.

It´s very easy but you have to be patient, if you try to tip it when too runny it will all collapse. WIll still be yummy though! Oh - a non-stick pan is essential, heavy based even better..

maveta · 07/08/2007 20:30

Just HAD to update.. after my mother´s gloom and doom warnings of sure constipation to follow N´s bottle of formula, it actually seems to have kick started his system after that long bout of weekly constipation.. he´s been going every day since

Pinions · 07/08/2007 20:33

Seeing as though I started it mav i'll find it and post, will also post the book swap thread, which I think might be a bit of a slow starter, but I'm sure we'll get there.

Pinions · 07/08/2007 20:34

(And I wish mine would take formula, I would like to see him with a bit more meat on really.

Pinions · 07/08/2007 20:44

Done, thought I'd rename it at the same time.
