Awwwww - why'd you delete it??

Other local village school does MUCH better in its last report, so is still in the running.

Will start a thread some other time about making decisions based on inspections that will be 6 years old by the time she goes (2003) .

2boysmacca · 21/08/2007 07:36

Aaaaarghhhhh this sodding weather!!!!

mustrunmore · 21/08/2007 07:41

Well, i know very little about private school, as goes without saying. But I'm sure their main advantage is smaller class size and more money for resources. If a child is bright though, that'll show through in any school. A friend of the family sent her daughter private at age 12 due to bullynig in her comp, which was a shame, as in all other respects she was fine (fab school; I went there! Although it was the school that made me do physics instead of typing as it was a waste of a lesson otherwise; obv I didnt carry on till GCSE level because I was shit at it, but still think I'd like to be able to type!)
Out of interesdt, the closest primary to us is runvery much how I imagine a private school to be; the nursery kids get homeowrk, its all very formal etc etc. Ds1's school is lovely (dont start me off on hoping he gets a place... ) but Ofsted did say it needs tp push the brighter pupils more. I think they all vary alot. And ou have to read between the lines with ofsted.
How does you school application system work around your area? Do you just get to put 3 choices like we do?

Jas · 21/08/2007 07:52

Deleted because I as rambling
e put the three choices, too, but to say you get a choice is still pushing it a bit tbh.

I have to get off the computer to stop the girl fights no. See you later...

mustrunmore · 21/08/2007 08:04

See you later. ds1 is getting excited about cuddling the girls

forgot to tell you, esp Flame, what ds1 said before Brum...
"Will both Brums be there?"
"What do you mean? there's only one Brum"
"No, the car one and the person one that we saw at Pippa's house"
"Er, do yo mean Bronwyn?"
"Yes, Brumwyn".

Well, I've got until Saturday to come on or DH is making me do another test before the holiday. Wasn't planning on doing another test until after my hols if I haven't come on - is that a really selfish attitude to take? I guess it is a bit of burying my head in the sand attitude, what I don't know can't hurt me type of thing. I just don't know what my reaction will be to either result and not sure I can deal with it before going away for 10dys.

If it's -ve then I actually think I will be really upset, particularly seeing as though I am having so many symptoms. I didn't actually want to be pg this month as have a lot coming up and the timing would be bad but now it's a possibility I am beginning to like the idea. However, being pg for a, what could be stressful, holiday would not be fun.

If it's +ve then I will have to deal with a lot of emotions I don't think I am quite ready for. I won't be able to relax in quite the same way. However, I think once the shock had passed I would be over the moon and it would explain why have felt like shit for the past week or two.

Sorry to ramble, just trying to get my feelings down in words so I can sort my head out. I am gonna have to deal with the outcome either way but was hoping not to have to deal with it for another couple of weeks, or at least until my body gives me the answer I'm waiting for in the way of a period (preferably before the holiday!)

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/08/2007 09:42

Hmmm - good luck with the result Chloe. Not sure if I should be hoping it's +ve or -ve, but am def hoping that it's the right answer!

Planning to leave here in about 5 mins Jas, so see you in a while. Don't worry if you're out getting mrm when I arrive. I'm guessing you won't be gone long so we can wait!

for the weather again though.

Phoenix · 21/08/2007 10:41

Hope you get the answer you want Chloe

Have a good day at Jas' house

Lewis didn't get up til 8.50 this morning . Oh and he came back from my mums yesterday with bright pink cheeks so he may be teething but as pink cheeks are all he's ever had with the rest of his teeth i'm not expecting any problems with him. I looked at a teething chart and it's around the time for 2nd molars and seeing as he has all his others i'm guessing it's them

damewashalot · 21/08/2007 12:08

Hello!

Haven't read a thing other than last posts about chloe maybe maybe not

Just thought I'd show my face and say am still in the land of the living just got a really hectic RL of late.

Still waiting for results which 3wks on I'm hoping is a good sign.

So anyone pg yet? I'm trying to get my head around the idea that I won't have any more if space and money weren't an issue I would but they are and DH whilst refusing to actually talk about it other than mumble about needing a bigger house is giving not a chance vibes
I know I have 3 lovely boys and some people have none so it's selfish and all that but we saw his cousins new tiny babe at weekend and I want 1, just 1 more Can't even tempt him with lots of trying as I am rather good at getting pg (well have been so far)

Hope all are ok and I haven't missed something huge, best feed my children and carry on getting ready for holiday on friday.

FlameBatfink · 21/08/2007 12:22

I know I've been awol - oodles of work etc and trying to get the house straight to decorate - please can someone round up a bit for me, and I will try and be more sociable!

OP posts:
FlameBatfink · 21/08/2007 13:14

Chloe

Thanks for the visit css and mrm It as lovely. Sorry I as disorganised and unprepared

I had 2 extra children all afternoon, and they played mums and dads, but it required 2 rooms as mum had "had enough of dad and kicked him out" I diverted them onto board games.

All is quiet again no.

mustrunmore · 21/08/2007 18:35

Er, I didnt notice! I felt very at home, thank you so much. I ilke your house
ds1's summary:"Daddy, they've got bunk beds and funny stairs at the top and a telly and Spiderman on a string"
We went back the other way, via the £1 shop for a few purchases. The actual journey is about the same time, so its whether you want lots of stairs on the tube change, or a longer bus ride at the end! oh, and ds1 fell down the escalator at T Hale. He got on, but still cant get the hang of standing still so as he ws facing backwards to look at me, he stopped as insturted, got half way up and overbalanced I had to leave ds2 at the bottom, run up, rescue him, try and run back down with him

Havent given him the polly pockets, but i've had a sneaky play and they're great!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/08/2007 21:23

Right, attempt at a bit of a round up.....

macca is going to do a course to become a personal trainer herself.

Chloe may or may not be pregnant, and does and doesn't want to be! I am not pregnant.

Lex will only go to sleep for Mr mrm.

Jas, mrm and I spent today at Jas's, where their babies slept and mine threw fish food all over the floor .

I am considering private school for dd. Everyone else thinks that I have more money than sense (although have been too polite to actually come out and say it directly) , except for macca, who would send hers if she could afford it.

Dame still doesn't have her scan results, which we all hope is good news.

The w key on Jas's keyboard doesn't work any more.

Phoenix' friend trace2 has now been told that her baby has epilepsy, after she had another long scary fit.

I got done for speeding, but have lost my license which I need to accept fine and points.

We're all sick of the rain.

Chloe's dh had a very scary car accident, with friends in the car. The car is a write off, but all occupants are physically fine.

macca's ds2 has bad nappy rash.

chloe is wondering whether to move her ds to a bed, as he can nearly climb out of the cot.

Jas' dh has joined a roofers chat forum.

Phoenix now has 3 fish.

I can't be bothered to look back any further than that!!!

2boysmacca · 21/08/2007 22:09

csws didn't lose her license for speeding

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/08/2007 22:14

lol - I did hope that no-one would read it that way .

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/08/2007 23:37

mrm - you are going to Willows even if the weather's crap aren't you? You better be - I've half prepared our picnic already!

Jas - I blame you for me still being up at this time of night. It was the caffeine that did it m'lord!!

FlameBatfink · 21/08/2007 23:42

Yay for personal training.

for not pregnant

Aww for Chloe - know the complete confused emotions well!

Standard outing with Pippa and other babies then

I would have been if you weren't planning to send her to private school tbh.

lmao @ the w key

Trace2

Pmsl @ not having lost lost licence

Grrr for rain

Eek for car

for bad nappy rash - oaty baths and a damp cloth or bit of fleece soaked in chamomile tea and put into the nappy (works in disps too)

Cot/Bed - if he can climb out SAFELY and get back in, then I go with leave it for the time - tis like a bed, but can't fall out

@ roofers' chat!

Were the fish called chish and fips or did I dream that?

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 22/08/2007 07:40

The fish were called that, but now they're not because there's 3 of them.

not sure about Willows; i guess its up to my friend, seeing as she's driving us! I did my picnic last night... just before she texted to say she was doing one for everyone

jas; ds1 wasnt too bad lst night, so I gave him one of the pp's and he totally adores it!

Jas · 22/08/2007 08:04

I have more

Glad you felt at home The dds enjoyed having your ds to play ith.

One of the goldfish is called Clive no, can't remember the other 2.

I'm freezing. Is it too early to put the heating on?
