Well its one year exactly (hopefully ) since I started the first Due April 2007 ante natal thread. How life has changed in that year, for the better on the whole!

It makes me quite nostalgic to be doing this, as it means it is a full year since finding out I was pregnant with Ffion.

I would like to thank all the ladies on the April 2007 thread for all your support, laughter and general madness which has kept me going on many a rubbish day!! You are an amazing bunch of people and I am really pleased to have shared this journey with you all.

Here's to another fun filled year!!!!!!!

Hi ladies, hope u r all well.

Pinions, my mil bought B some clothes when she was a baby which were horrendous, and I'm afraid I said on my way out that I would prefer it if she left buying clothes to me!!! What a bitch eh? She really has no taste whatsover.

Have spent a wet afternoon at the farm. Fortunately, it is one of those places with indoor trampolines, ball pit etc, so not too wet. B was a nightmare, and my friend actually said she didn't know how I handled her as she couldn't.

Off to pick up dh from the airport - he has been in Dublin all day.

Back later. xx

normabutty · 25/07/2007 17:54

Ok, leaky/pinions...I can do tues or thirs if we meet at white rose...if we meet at Pinions house...I can't do tues and i'd have to be there all afternoon til dh could pick me up again!!! (and i'd have to check with dh he could drop me off in his lunchbreak)...what do you think????

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 18:29

We have a Natwest in the next village
Sorry, don't know anything about HR Are you SURE he doesn't work in software, then I could help as I'd know what I was talking about?

Pinions · 25/07/2007 19:10

SOL. !!

My sil bought 4 pairs of beautiful GAP pj's from america for DS1 and they are all too small, I hate that too, when things go to waste, but you don't really want to upset people by offending them!

Pinions · 25/07/2007 19:11

Nutty will email when I can sort out the best time x

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 19:16

Pinions you will just have to have another one
(baby that is)

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 19:18

oooh elkie, can I email you?
Does anyone else like reading and want to get a chain book letter? (Very innocent, no money required )

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 19:18

Sorry, elkie, assuming that's OK give me a hint as to which is your email address - can't find any with your first name in

Pinions · 25/07/2007 19:19

No way. No how. Not ever.

Not unless I adopt that is !

And NO chain letter for me Katy .

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 19:20

ok

normabutty · 25/07/2007 19:23

I like reading...is it a huge email? Can you send it to my hotmail addy!!! Thanks Katy

Pinions just got your email...DH can give me a lift round your in his lunchbreak so let me know when you're available!!!

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 19:26

basically it's "send one book receive 36" chain email thing.
In the same style as the chain letters that tell you to send a fiver to the first person on the list and you will be a millionaire by the end of the week.
I know they're unsustainable, but this one is fairly harmless, only the cost of posting a paperback involved, I won't care if I only get a couple back iyswim.
So if anyone wants it let me know.

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 19:27

Norma, can I send it to you when I have the other 5, I have to amend the attachment and I'll probably end up losing track and messing it up iyswim?

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 19:30

T has been asleep since 2.30 with just a quick feed at 4.30
No sleep for me tonight I think

normabutty · 25/07/2007 19:38

I don't know what you mean!!!

Will you be on msn later? about to go in bath!

liath · 25/07/2007 19:42

Pinions, reminds me of MIL and that bloody housecoat - I went for the thanks & straight in the charity bin option!!

Does anyone fancy an April thread book swap??

How are those with toddlers doing? Dd has just morphed from angel to demon & I'm at a loss - she's suddenly started kicking & pinching. Nappy chnages are a nightmare and I've had to start using reins again for out and about. I don't know what's got into her & feel like a crap mother. Anyone found any good parenting books??

Pinions · 25/07/2007 19:49

Liath. "Toddler Taming", Christopher Green.
"How to say No and Mean it", Karen Sullivan.
"How not to be a Perfect Mother", Libby Purves.

And would love the idea of Book Swap thread, do you want to start it?

Love the idea and would lurk a lot, but might be just a bit too to post any titles. Most of my books are either weight loss, or parenting or titles way too embarrassing!

leakyR · 25/07/2007 19:57

Pinions have you and Norma come up with a plan to meet up? Am I still invited?

mammyjoMcGonagall · 25/07/2007 20:04

Hello. Feeling crap here. The day started well but went downhill with ds being naughty and me getting stressed over it. I told him off a few times and raised my voice. He then told me I should go back to work and only come home at tea time so that grandma and grandpa could take him in the days I feel so bloody mean and upset. Shouldnt take it to heart, he is only 4 years old FFS, but I cant help it. Not looking for sympathy, just needed to get it off my chest IYSWIM. See you all tomorrow xx

mammyjoMcGonagall · 25/07/2007 20:06

Sorry, very self absorbed post. Leaky, hope you got rid of those bastards throwing the stones and that you and G are ok.

Norma, made Mr Nuttys tangy chicken for tea and it was delicious. Went down well with me, dh and ds so thankyou for that Mr N!!

Going now to read HP for a bit of distraction. Hoping for a better day tomorrow. Am meeting a friend and taking the dc's out so should be an improvement on today Night all xx

leakyR · 25/07/2007 20:07

Oh mammyjo, you poor thing. They seem to know which buttons to press. Hope tomorrow is better.

Pinions · 25/07/2007 20:11

Right lesley the concensus is meet up at my house, as long as there is no HR talk ok!?

SO, we need to agree the best date for everyone. DS1 is at home all the time now, as school has finished but has got loads to amuse him so that should be ok.

For me, any day during the week would be ok I think, am busy tomorrow, friday, monday so for me next tues/wed/thurs/fri???

Any of those.

Sexonlegs · 25/07/2007 20:37

Hi ladies, so we are going through a shit patch again with the older dc's by the sounds of it?? My blood boiled I can tell you

Last night when I went to bed, I vowed I would try and be relaxed with B today and not get stressed etc. but as soon as she came in this morning she was an absolute nightmare. She kept kicking me when I was feeding K, and generally being a nightmare. I ended up smacking her bum I am afraid to say. Will probably be linched now. She also said she wanted grandma to be her mummy (my effing mil) My blood boiled I can tell you. Grinding my teeth as I type!!

oooggs · 25/07/2007 20:43

hello girls

Katy I am obsessed with looking for April 2008 thread too

mammyjo - ds1 said I should go to work and daddy could stay home and look after them (after all I do)

liath - would love to book swap - but not time to even read the tv guide

Haven't been about today as taken dh to a job interview then onto visit friends (yes I have rl ones aswell )

Looking forward to meeting octo & her boys tomorrow

could be up all night as neither of dts had food (I forgot ) Erin drank hardly any of her bedtime bottle, so Jack drank it isntead - no wonder he is much bigger than her.

Pinions · 25/07/2007 20:49

IMO anyone who says they don't smack every now and then is full of crap.

OK there are some but not many. There is a difference between a small smack and beating the crap out of them, which also happens.

DS1 seems to be going through a "good" patch at the moment. Not only that but we let him loose in the pk yesterday and he was perfectly behaved. Then again comparing him to some of the cretins around yesterday is not really saying much.

If you ask me they go round in circles, good behaviour/bad behaviour all part of the "learning" process.
