Well its one year exactly (hopefully ) since I started the first Due April 2007 ante natal thread. How life has changed in that year, for the better on the whole!

It makes me quite nostalgic to be doing this, as it means it is a full year since finding out I was pregnant with Ffion.

I would like to thank all the ladies on the April 2007 thread for all your support, laughter and general madness which has kept me going on many a rubbish day!! You are an amazing bunch of people and I am really pleased to have shared this journey with you all.

Here's to another fun filled year!!!!!!!

Hi lesley, what teething powder are u using??

Pinions · 25/07/2007 15:10

And on sleeping. We put T in the cot, (put the crib inside the cot so he gets used to it) last night for the first time and he slept from 9-4 without waking so that was definitely the longest so far.

Felt like I was missing a limb though all night.....??

leakyR · 25/07/2007 15:15

I know what you mean G has been in his cot since Sunday and is doing well but I keep leaping out of bed to look at him.

Using Boots "alternatives" teething powder. Think it's exactly the same as the Nelson's ones i.e. cammomila with a bit of lactose. G was highly suspicious of the first one but seems to know they make him feel better and takes them fine now.

Pinions · 25/07/2007 15:18

Seems to know lol. Did u get it in the boots in town or K.stall??

Pinions · 25/07/2007 15:21

DS1 is now playing at friends over the road.

Why is it that all the time he is here I spend my time thinking that I wish he had sth to do or someone to play with, and yet when hes with somebody elses house I spend every second worrying!?!

Kneehighinnappies · 25/07/2007 15:23

Where is everyone again today?????

Pinions · 25/07/2007 15:25

leakyR · 25/07/2007 15:40

Sorry Pinions scrotey little kids started throwing stones at my windows so I've been on phone to Weetwood police station and DH.

Got teething powder at Kirkstall boots, in the homeopathic/herbal aisle.

off to feed G. Keep your fingers crossed for my windows to stay intact.

LuciusWheel · 25/07/2007 15:47

Hello ladies

Had a lovely morning with bumble and L, she is SO cute.
DDs and ds1 are doing laps around the garden, think that they are trying to pack in as much fun as possible before it rains LOL

Pesha just wanted to say that I would prefer a house that ticks the boxes rather than the garden. Spend more time in the house than in the garden over the course of a year IYSWIM.

I think that we have gremlins, after the PC giving up a few weeks ago this week so far, my tumble drier has died, then my washing machine broke and now my TV has died aswell.
During the school holidays with this much rain WHY???????????????
Nothing can be delivered for at least 5 days HELP!

Hellooo KNIH, Oooggs, Pinions, Nutty, Leaky

LuciusWheel · 25/07/2007 15:47

Oh Leaky thats awful, are you ok?

Pinions · 25/07/2007 16:12

OMG lesley!!!

Just cauhgt that.

I'll be round in a min to sort em out!!
Was at the pk yesterday and it was HEAVIN with horrible scrutty scrutty chavs from the estate and I was like god i'm so out of touch IYSWIM. They were preggars/smokin/shouting at the kids/kids running absolutely RIOT all over, think it must be an end of term thing.

Gotta go cos ds1 and friend just back

BUT GET THE POLICE ROUND/IF YOU FEEL UP TO IT GO AND TELL THE KIDS TO F* OFF!!!!!!!!!!

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 16:40

Hi everyone
Mum has been here as T had his 12 week injections, he was OK at the time, bit of a cry, back, calpol, feed then he fell asleep. He woke up about 15 mins ago and was screaming, have fed him again and he's asleep so hopefully he'll be better when he wakes up.
Pinions - was this typical of your mum or out of character?

leakyR · 25/07/2007 16:45

I like our flat but wish it was a bit further away from "that" estate. Our windows face the footpath that leads to the big playing field and the park near Kirkstall Abbey. The most frustrating thing is that we are on the ground floor at the bottom of a little slope so I can't actually see who's on the path throwing stones - I can just hear the little sh!ts laughing.

2 of our windows were broken when G was just a few weeks old. It's quite scary to be sitting nursing your baby when stones start flying over the wall. The police advised me to call them but not to confront them. Unlikely when I'm on my own with a 14 week old baby.

Pinions · 25/07/2007 17:07

Hiya Katy typical of my mum afraid. Just grates me cos this year they have been on a god knows how many holidays etc etc. And we have a newborn baby, plus 3 year old.

Makes me sound like an ungrateful cos but it DOES MY HEAD IN!!

Pinions · 25/07/2007 17:08

And leaky the one thing that you will really want as soon as G gets his legs is a garden, so if you were thinking of moving anyway like u said i would go with that personally!

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 17:10

No Pinions I completely understand. I don't have the same problem, if anything my mum spends too much on us but every so often she's really pleased as she's found a "bargain", sometimes I think . But it's just her and our different tastes iyswim - just wondered if it was something similar.

leakyR · 25/07/2007 17:34

After 2 weeks in North East DH has decided he'd quite like to move back there. However there's nothing in his line of work, for the company that we work for up there. We've decided he's going to spend the next 6 months looking for a promotion here or in Manchester. If nothing comes up he'll take a sideways move that will allow us to move nearer our families. I really don't mind where we are in terms of my work as I'm planning to go back to working with kids and I can do that anywhere. The GPs being there for babysitting would be nice though!

Whoops

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 17:35

What does he do? (Sure I've asked that before, sorry)
I'll find him a job, I'm a really good job hunter for other people!

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 17:38

Am I the only one who keeps chcking excitedly for an April 2008 thread?

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 17:42

Fine!
[Katy stomps off to get a life since she's clearly the only one without one]

leakyR · 25/07/2007 17:48

Sorry Katy G is very grumpy today have to keep going off to amuse him.

Dh is a HR manager for Royal Bank of Scotland. He has worked for the bank since he left school and although they own loads of different businesses there aren't very many in the North East. Loads of opportunities in London (no way we could afford that move!) and a fair few in Manchester. So it's a wait and see situation.
