Well its one year exactly (hopefully ) since I started the first Due April 2007 ante natal thread. How life has changed in that year, for the better on the whole!

It makes me quite nostalgic to be doing this, as it means it is a full year since finding out I was pregnant with Ffion.

I would like to thank all the ladies on the April 2007 thread for all your support, laughter and general madness which has kept me going on many a rubbish day!! You are an amazing bunch of people and I am really pleased to have shared this journey with you all.

Here's to another fun filled year!!!!!!!

My email address is simple - my user name at either yahoo or blueyonder, both co.uk, not my first name, which is Luci.

elkiedee · 25/07/2007 23:10

SOL and others coping with toddlers as well as babies, sorry to hear it's tough at the moment, hope it gets better.

You haven't put me off feeling broody again. Today there were just 2 of us from the postnatal group most of the time, and 1 more joined us for 40 mins at the end, and Collette and I were talking lots about our thoughts on having another, she's only a couple of years younger than me.

Katy44, no you're not the only one looking out for an April 2008 one. I also notice that March 2008 is already on the 2nd thread and that the two together are well over 800 posts!

Runny, sorry you've had such frightening experiences with your son, glad to hear he's ok.

Pinions · 25/07/2007 23:18

SOL.

Just wanted to say, that when I take ds1 out and think hes going to play up I tell him the "naughty man" will come and find him. Seems to work ok.

Ie the man that watches out for very naughty children.

Will probably end up with some kind of phobia now but hey it preserves my sanity!

Katy44 · 26/07/2007 08:00

Before the book swap thread, which I think is a good idea, can I send this email to:
normabutty
weeonion
liath
LuceWheel
Pinions
oooggs (????)

Let me know if that's OK

runny, what a scary couple of days, glad everything was OK.
elkie, it didn't even occur to me to look for your username - now I feel stupid!
Sorry to everyone having trouble with older DCs
Think that's all I can remember for now norma, sorry I didn't come back online

maveta · 26/07/2007 08:03

Eeek! Scary toddler stories.. hmmm.. do we need to have another one before N gets to 3 then, and we get totally put off the idea??! LOL

Lucius, thanks for asking after N.. poor guy still hasn´t done a poo.. again yesterday lots of straining, quite a bit of vomiting from pushing the wrong way and a bit of crying. Did not take a nap longer than 15 mins ALL. DAY. I was at the end of my tether. I am so used to him sleeping a lot and being able to get on with what I want to do that I found it really hard work him being so awake. He was so obviously knackered aswell. Finally went to bed at 10.15pm after a hysterical crying fit that must have lasted a good half hour. I don´t know, maybe that´s not particularly long, but for him it´s ages. He just doesn´t usually cry much, not in a way that you can´t figure out what it is and soothe him pretty quickly.

Anyway, he slept til 6.30am this morning, fed and is still asleep now so maybe this is the new routine, trading off the daytime sleeps for going all night.. but at this age shouldn´t they still need a mid afternoon nap aswell???

Sorry for the self absorbed post, feeling a bit spacey this morning.. book swap thread sounds great but can´t really join in, postage to and from Spain for a book probably cancels out any benefit of doing it! Runny - little buggers with the stones poor you.

Going to ToysRus this morning with Mum, if N is going to be this awake, I need more toys!!!

maveta · 26/07/2007 08:03

sorry, just reread my post, meant LeakyR re. stones! sorry!

maveta · 26/07/2007 08:30

just being doing accounts... does anyone else get depressed seeing their savings being depleted while on maternity or is it just me?

bumble75 · 26/07/2007 09:19

Hi All,

Maveta, definitely don't like looking at my bank balance these days!

Leaky, am glad the little buggers went away - we had some boys next door kicking a football at our house - is SO scary when newborn is involved.

Had a lovely morning with Lucius and her gorgeous kids yesterday - am in serious awe of managing four! Am in serious awe of all of you managing more than one! Hope things get better for those of you having a bad time with toddlers at the moment. Us first timers should be taking notes!

Liath, I'd definitely be up for a book swap on the thread. If we ever get any sunshine and you fancy a walk in the Meadows or catching up for coffee, let me know.

WO - hope your scan went well and you're enjoying your holiday.

Am supposed to be somewhere at 10am and L still asleep... what to do... hate to wake her...

Katy44 · 26/07/2007 09:35

bumble I hate waking them, can you get her in her car seat without waking her?

Katy44 · 26/07/2007 09:42

weeonion was it you that hadn't got the child trust fund stuff? I've just got mine this morning, did you get yours?

normabutty · 26/07/2007 09:45

Morning,

Katy - i don't understand this email thing.....

Bumble - i tend to just try not to wake her as i lift her in, tho she usually just drops right off again if she does wake.

Oooggs & Octo - have a good day!

normabutty · 26/07/2007 09:48

There's a due in April 2008 thread!!!!

runnyhabbit · 26/07/2007 10:16

Morning all

Weather is absolutley pants! W asleep, J watching tv, so I'm going to have a shower before going to Ikea with lil sis.

Have a good day everyone

Pinions · 26/07/2007 10:54

Not on MN at all today, but Katy NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TO EMAIL THANKS !!!

Or I'll beat you round the head with a wet fish.

Pinions · 26/07/2007 10:54

And why does it have to do that?

Pinions · 26/07/2007 10:56

Just had tescos delivery and the delivery man looked like a paedophile in drag. .

oooggs · 26/07/2007 11:14

no thanks to email Katy

toddlers are ok it's preschoolers that are a nightmare, so if going for a 2nd do it before they are 3!!!!!!!!

If anyone wants to borrow James - give me a shout

sharing a room with dt's is the best method of contraception!!!

elkiedee · 26/07/2007 11:44

Morning all, good to know that I'm not the only one looking out for April 2008 - nutty spotted it, and oooggs beat me to congratulating the founding member

Mum dropped round to leave a couple of things on her way to France this morning, now both she and my friend a few streets away with two teenagers are away, so I'm going to have to find someone else to phone in a panic with stupid questions!

Danny had a couple of hearing tests this morning, first inconclusive, second one suggests hearing is fine.

Bumble, do you find your baby always dozes off just at the time when you should be getting her ready to go out?

Have to get ready to go out again now, St Ann's (very local) postnatal group today and I will probably have to leave a few minutes early to go and see Danny's consultant at the Whittington. Still dithering as obviously their concern is that D's ok but I still have issues over the whole feeding thing. So, see you all this evening.

Kneehighinnappies · 26/07/2007 12:11

Morning morning morning, just a quick post as my house is mess and a half today, we had friends over for dinner last night, I haven't met my friends husband before and last night was the first time was just a little at this fellow, he brought his 11 year old son with him.
We were offering drinks around and the 11 year old said he wanted a beer so jokingly DH gave him one, he finished it in a couple of mouthfulls went off to the fridge and helped him self to 3 more
all the time his dad was sitting there laughing away, maybe I am out of touch with what kids drink today but I can tell you all if my kids behaved in that way, just helping themselves to beer at only 11 years old I would have some serious words to them!
I am still in from it!

normabutty · 26/07/2007 12:16

KHIN - that's shocking

Sexonlegs · 26/07/2007 12:57

Hi ladies,

just a quickie. KHIN, cannot believe that! 11 years old ffs.

Hope everyone is ok. It has just started peeing with rain here - again.
Need to re-do K's passport application, as the countersignature was not a professional person and therefore doesn't count. I think it is an outrage. Also means I have to get the photo's redone. Not too sad about that as they were pretty awful - made her look really fat!

Had a great start to the morning. Yesterday it was K's crap all over the bouncy chair, today was cat sick all over the bedroom carpet! Can't wait for tomorrow morning....???

Need to run as K woken up and in a cack mood.

xx

normabutty · 26/07/2007 15:09

where you all at today?????

Katy44 · 26/07/2007 15:28

Sorry Pinions, you'd already said that hadn't you - not following today
I've been out for coffee at a friends then to Tesco

Kneehighinnappies · 26/07/2007 15:36

It is so quiet on here, what's going on.
Show's who are the biggest gossips doesn't it(those who are off visiting)

bumble75 · 26/07/2007 15:38

Elkie - L is invariably asleep when I want her to be awake and vice versa! Luckily was going to meet a friend who was quite glad we were late as her wee boy had his nap while waiting for us. Hope everything went well for you today with Danny.

KHIN - at the beers. OMG - no way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a lovely long walk with one of my pals to Starbucks for lunch and coffee - the bubbas were so well behaved and I finally made my public bfing debut!!!

Will no doubt be kicked off the pc tonight by dh so if I'm not back, hope everyone had a good day and has a lovely evening.
