Boobie Monster now awake. Typical!

elkiedee · 22/07/2007 14:52

Hi all

I'm still in Yorkshire, returned from Harrogate to Ilkley yesterday afternoon, school reunion gathering in a Leeds city centre pub in the evening, interesting but had to dash off for 10 pm train, 11 pm just would have felt tooooo late these days, this is what motherhood does.

Have read end of last thread but can't remember details now, so no personals.

Hope all's well. Have been playing around with facebook, showed Owen (my mum's husband) his daughter's profile on there. Sorry to JoMa and anyone else I confused with friend requests!, my rl first name is Luci and my user name is based on my initials lkd.

One word of advice to anyone signed up on facebook, you can set your profile not to show your actual dob and I'd advise it. When you phone your bank what's one of the first questions they ask to confirm your identity? Facebook's good fun but stick to sharing the info you don't mind people knowing, particularly if you are using your real name. I also know some of my colleagues have googled me in the past, it's a good idea to think about what you don't mind people having a nose at.

Hoep you're having a nice northern time Elkie!

Thanksgiving was lovely - caught up with some people and it was just .... lovely!! Anyone who wants a copy of our Order of Service emailed to them; email me: captain_dippy "at" yahoo "dot" co "dot" uk

elkiedee · 22/07/2007 17:56

CD, I'm not in the least religious but even I was very touched by the wording you quoted from the Thanksgiving service, thanks.

I considered having a non religious Naming ceremony as an excuse to get togeher a few members of my fantastically complicated family, and some of Mike's (smaller and simpler) for a party, but haven't really got my head round the potential complications.

elkiedee · 22/07/2007 18:18

WO, sorry you've been having such a bad time.

geordiemacminx · 22/07/2007 18:27

JoMa · 22/07/2007 19:57

anyone having problems with hotmail/yahoo

I have both so if you are trying to get something through to someone who has the opposite to you, IYSWIM, then please send it to whichever one you use, either hotmail/yahoo, and I can copy it over to the other one to send on.

hope that makes sense!

Night JoMa!!

Hiya lassies, hope you are all well. Sounds like those that indulge in HP have had a good weekend!!

Have read through the thread and can't remember a flipping thing!

WO, your poor boob sounds dreadful. Hope it is sorted soon.

Katy, glad you got to Worcester and back. The weather there was horrific wasn't it?

Emmy, hope you get another all-nighter with S.

Have had a fab weekend. Went to my cousins house yesterday for a cousins party - 10 adults and 12 children (incl. Katie). It was great to see everyone, and for most, it was the first time they had met K.
Today, I had some me time as dh had B and K, so I went shopping, athough tbh, I hate sales, so didn't buy anything! It was still lovely to saunter around without thinking about feeding times/dirty nappies etc.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. xx

normabutty · 22/07/2007 21:19

Evening all, can't remember much of what I've just read so I'm sorry for missing most of you out

Pinions - hope you're manage to get more sleep tonight. Thanks for the pic...not sure if I said before that it had arrived

Octo - hope you had a good time swimming

Have only read 4 chapters of HP...it's taking me a while to get into this one...no idea why

JoMa - hope you enjoyed your walk.

ok, my mind's gone blank now. Have been for a look round the shops today but didn't really get anything. Not much to report here. Am feeling a bit better tho. Erin is also dribbling a lot and sucking her hands, maybe she's teething ...we will see!!!

theleakycauldRon · 22/07/2007 21:49

Evening!

Back in Leeds. George is asleep in his big cot in his own room for the first time!

Still feel rubbish, fell over again this morning. It's worse when I'm tired - will have to go to docs tomorrow.

G is not going to like me this week. Jabs tomorrow and 2nd attempt at DMSA scan on his kidneys on Tuesday. Hopefully the f%@*wit doctors will be able to canulate without bruising him/pinning him down for 30 mins/having 5 goes before deciding that my then hysterical baby had been through enough. Can you tell I'm looking forward to it?

Sorry for self indulgent post.

JoMa - Justin = prat. You're a very patient woman to put up with his crap so that Joe can see him.

Pinions- G is showing signs of teething too.Red cheeks, chewing, grizzling more than usual. Have you tried the herbal teething powders? I've a friend who swears by them. Think Boots do their own and Nelsons do one too.

CD - P's service sounds lovely.

WO- glad you're being spoiled by family in Ireland. Hope boob starts to improve soon.

Katy- Hope you're ok. Was saying to DH last night that I hoped you'd not got caught up in flood chaos.

Sorry to anyone I've missed. Brain melting.

Right off in the bath with my HP book. Haven't looked at it at all today. These baby things don't half cut into your leisure time don't they?

theleakycauldRon · 22/07/2007 21:51

Hi Norma!

Xpost. Let me know when you fancy meeting up.

Goodnight all
