Don't think anyone has mentioned this, so i'll be the first?

T has started TEETHING!?!

Have been up all night for the last two nights, therefore bloody knackered and really pissed off. He holds hand in the mouth ALL the time. Dribbles everywhere. Will not go to sleep even after a million feeds. Sore red eyes from all the crying combined with lack of sleep. Only thing that helps him to sleep is tidgy amount of calpol. Thank goodness for calpol.

Look out ladies the joys of teething are just around the corner. Already???

Pinions · 22/07/2007 08:15

And sorry to put a dampener on things, but am not interested in bloody Harry Potter at all. So there!

CaptainDippy · 22/07/2007 08:19

You certainly know how to pick 'em, JM!! [gri] Had to have a little chuckle when you said that Justin doesn't want to have Joe on his own again ..... serves him right ..... sometimes men need to actually experience something to understand it - you can tell them til you're blue in the face, but it won't make any difference. Sigh. Hope Joe's cold gets better soon hon.....

DD's 1 & 2 are still sleeping!!!!! P is chatting in bed wih daddy, my friend who is staying is sleeping & I am just catching up here ...... Peace & Quiet!

To explain the purpose of the Thanksgiving Service, I'll copy the text from the Order of Service out for you, GMM - Says it much more eloquently than I ever could ....

"The birth of a child is a cause for celebration. Many people are overcome by a sense of awe at the creation of new life and want to express their thanks to God. This service provides an opportunity for us to give thanks for the birth of Phoebe and to pray for us all, as family and friends, as we support Ben and Deborah in their faith and family life.

This service is not the same as Baptism or Christening, although we hope and pray that the decision to become a Christian is one that Phoebe will make for herself later in life."

Does that make sense?? I could email you a copy of the Order of Service if you like? So you can see the words used etc ..... it's a lovely alternative to a Baptism / Christening / Dedication / Naming Ceremony etc etc ......

Teething - gooness me, Pinions - Don't think there's much chance of that in DippyLand for a wee while yet ..... DD1 got her 1st tooth at 2!!!! DD2 was about 15/16 months!!! Late developers here .....

Pinions · 22/07/2007 08:25

Morning dippy. How things. Feel extra crap beacuse on top of baby not sleeping, hubby being away all week on lates, nextdoors house collapsing

I HAVEN'T HAD CHANCE TO CATCH UP ON MN!!!!

What could be worse.

Thanks for mentioning the Thanksgiving Service, we are also meaning to get both of @em "christened" but like GMM feel hypocritical never get to go to church. I usually work sundays anyway. But still feel the need to do something along those lines, so think it could be a thanksgiving for us too in the next few months. Its not sth that I've ever heard of before, thought it was american for Xmas, shows my complete ignorance . Sounds great anyway, does it still count as "welcoming to the house of God" so to speak. I am a complete ignoramus.

teething - yikes

gmm - no joy with bears, but only 'lost' 2 so they now have 2 each on chairs instead of 3 (hadn't thought of that before )

EmmyKnackeredMuggle · 22/07/2007 09:08

Morning lovely ladies. Major - S SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! I had to shout that as it's such a major event!

Pinions - in spite of the sleeping thing, I also think S may be teething - like you say, constantly chewing her hands and dribbling like crazy. In fact she tries to chew anything that gets remotely close to her mouth - currently trying to chew her sleeve.

Dippy - could you email me the order of service too? Sounds lovely and I'd be interesting in seeing what it's all about (think you have my email addy?) - thank you

JoMa - Justin = arse . Glad he got to experience the reality of a crying baby.

Pinions · 22/07/2007 09:18

Sorry ellie not had chance to catch up on the Justin news but he sounds like an arse anyway, sorry!

Pinions · 22/07/2007 09:20

And x loads at sleeping thru the night we are way off that yet .

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 22/07/2007 10:02

morning all,

ellie, justin sounds like a total prat! PMSL when you said he doesn't want to be alone with Joe, jeez wish we had that option sometimes

Pinions, Harry is definately teething too, he's had a white dot on his gum since birth and it is definately getting bigger. He's dribbling like a trooper and fists are in his mouth at every oportunity!

Emmy glad S slept through, makes so much difference doesn't it.

Hi everyone else,

We had a late one last night. Had MIL/FIL suprise party last night. Went well they didn't have a clue til they walked through the door. They'll never trust me and DH again though since we were the ones lumbered with the job of getting them to the hall and we lied through our teeth to get them there

No one noticed the cake for those I haven't told, i ordered a cake from M&S. When I went to collect it they'd spelt MIL's name with 3 r's instead of 2. Just for ellie her name is cherry, or cherrry! Managed to fix it though and got the cake for nothing so worked out well in the end!

I think i'm gonna have a VERY tired 3 year old on my hands today

octo · 22/07/2007 11:02

Morning all

Justin is such an arse!

Hope everyone is well - the sun is shining here - we are off swimming

Catch up later

CaptainDippy · 22/07/2007 11:33

Hurrah to S sleeping through EKM! My older 2 slept til 8.30 this morning, which was nice; but it now means that DD2 is NOT going down for her morning nap. DH has taken DD1 to church and I've stayed home so that DD's 2 & 3 can have a rest before hectic PM. DD2 is not having any of it. Trying v.hard not to get anxious and stressed; but it is getting to me. Hope she drops off soon!! I need to STOP being such a ridiculous stress head all the time ......

Ahem.

Sorry about that!!

mammyjoMcGonagall · 22/07/2007 11:33

Morning all! Reasonable night here with F only waking once for a feed. Those nights I can handle, but the night before was every two hours. Leaves me feeling like a zombie.

I am madly reading HP at every opportunity. Very good so far, bit scary in a whats going to happen to him kind of way. Up to chapter 12. V of you Eca having finished it already. If I could have a whole day to myself I could do that, but wont stay up all night!! Dh said if F was ff he would take her out for a day but shes not so no chance of that just yet!!

WO, hope the boobie settles down soon. Look after yourself xx

Ellie, lol at Justin freaking with Joe crying. Perhaps he got just a tiny insight into what you contend with every single day of the week. As dh would say, hes nothing but a bloody tart!! (meaning Justin not Joe!)

CaptainDippy · 22/07/2007 11:35

Hi MJG!!

Talk to me - I think I am going mad ..... pleeeeeease go to sleeeeeeep DD2!! Pleeeeease .......

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 22/07/2007 11:38

Sending dd2 sleep vibes CD

CaptainDippy · 22/07/2007 11:39

I know, I am a very lucky lady - I am dreading her dropping her naps. I am hoping and praying that it won't be for a fair old while yet ..... Thank you for the vibes - I hope they work .....

EmmyKnackeredMuggle · 22/07/2007 11:41

Sleeeeeeeep DD2, sleeeeeeeeeep!

Have just been making bubble paintings with Em, lovely messy fun!

mammyjoMcGonagall · 22/07/2007 11:41

!!

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 22/07/2007 11:42

ooo em, i tried that with dd but think i did something wrong! Please tell me how you did it,lol!

EmmyKnackeredMuggle · 22/07/2007 11:44

Small amount of water in a fairly deep bowl, good squirt of washing up liquid and loads of poster paint. Whisk it all up, dunk a straw in and blow like mad!

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 22/07/2007 11:47

Thanks i've been using powder paint, is that the wrong stuff then? First time i did it i forgot to put in washing up liquid(der) then next time probably too much water/not enough washing up liquid! DD very disappointed Will try again. Not today though, can't face it today!

EmmyKnackeredMuggle · 22/07/2007 11:52

Never tried it with powder paint, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with that. You just need to make such there is plenty of paint in there so the bubbles have plenty of pigment in them IYSWIM. I make it pretty thick and gloopy! I use the big tubes of ready mixed paint from the ELC - works a treat!

CaptainDippy · 22/07/2007 11:53

OOOOOOOOOOOH - bubble painting - haven't done that in yeeeeeeeears!! What a fab idea EKM!! Definitely do some with DD1 tomorrow morning ..... Super .....

THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH for your sleep vibes everyone - she has finally gone off ....... phew .... about right too - She woke up over an hour and a half later than she normally would and she's gone down an hour & a half later than she normally would ..... feeling much more relaxed now ...... phew!!

mammyjoMcGonagall · 22/07/2007 12:02

Hooray for dd2!!!
