i wish...mostly trying to cope...today was a good day. God knows what i'd be like if i wasn't getting my 6 hrs a night

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 18:58

don't know how controversial this is, but I was talking to a mum in the playground today who was in hospital with me having her DD.....she's had the LOs ears pierced . six weeks old. They were the usual sleepers that you get and looked big and ugly in the poor wee mites ears.

apologies if anyone is considering/has their LOs ears done. It's just not my thing really.

BadZelda · 18/07/2007 19:00

god no it's horrible!

trendaverter · 18/07/2007 19:07

not my thing either

I think the FF has a lot to do with it, I daresay my boobs wouldn't have him at the weight he is now either!

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 19:09

at least my ds goes off to school in the morning and i only have one to deal with. I don't know how we'll get on next week when DS is demanding my attention as well as babyboo. he always kicks off when I'm feeding her as he knows I'm stuck and can't really do anything.

she has fed non-stop this afternoon. She did 3/4 of an hour before tea and another 3/4 of an hur immediately after.

BadZelda · 18/07/2007 19:10

Don't boys pile on weight quicker than girls? Matilda's so much bigger than Ella was that I haven't had her weighed in the last couple of weeks. Will be interesting to see what she's at...considering that at 5 weeks she's wearing clothes Ella was in at 3 months...

derlor · 18/07/2007 19:11

evening

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 19:11

TA when I was BF DS he was on the 25th centile on the charts. When I stopped BF and put him on the botle, he crossed over to the 91st centile within about 6 weeks....and stayed there for ages, he really was a little chubby thing. He's now on the 50th centile, so they lose it all again when they start moving.

derlor · 18/07/2007 19:13

i can't get that sneaky code of holly's to work for my mammoth NEXT order maybe i just don't ACTUALLY need all that stuff anyway?!?!?!

trendaverter · 18/07/2007 19:14

Yes I'm not worried, I don't fret about weights and centiles very much really, just somewhat annoyed that at less than a month old he is already too long (not wide) for most 0-3 sleepsuits!

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 19:14

I'm off to the store at 5am on Saturday...I'll be up so I may as well do something useful.

How does the code work anyway?

derlor · 18/07/2007 19:17

TA, just cut off the feet and put socks/tights on him instead!!
Daisy don't worry - it doesn't work anyway
i was just checking out the acronym list and found 2 that i use that i thought mean something else!
LOL = laugh out loud - i thought it was lots of love
and ROFL = roll on floor laughing - i htought it was right old fucking laugh!!!! oops

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 19:22

derlor, I'm LOL, ROFL and PMSL at you thinking everyone was lots of loving each other when talking about rampant rabbits etc!

derlor · 18/07/2007 19:22

hey Daisy you taking babyboo in her sling to the sale??? that should clear some space for you, you should think!!
both my DD's have their belly buttons pierced, is that not normal?????

derlor · 18/07/2007 19:23

oh yeah - i just thought we were all getting to the huggy stage of friendship. LOL!!!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 19:26

she screams like a banshee whenever the baby carrier appears. We tried her in it when she was a week old and have traumatised her forever. I think by the time I wrestle her out of the car and into the carrier, I'd be a frazzled wreck and fit for nothing.

I've got some ebm that DH can give her while I'm out, and if she finishes that, she can have some formula!

derlor · 18/07/2007 19:30

i think taking her would clear a path for you in the shop - the next sale is ALWAYS too crowded anyway. let her scream and get to the clothes you REALLY want!!!!

derlor · 18/07/2007 19:35

i was joking about the belly buttons (just in case anyone was doubtful!) >>
you know what confuses me though when giving immunisations at work the mothers of the pierced children are always the worse -"oh will this hurt her/him?"
"oh i can't watch, i'll wait outside" or sometimes they cry when the child is immunised
i have to refrain from shouting "YOU PIERCED THEIR FARKING EARS YOU MORON"!!!!!!!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 19:41

it's quite sad really, isn't it?

Maybe I will take her Derlor, people will be so distracted by how devastatingly gorgeous she is thay they will part like the red sea for me

MN competition for fabulous go-kart here

bumperlicious · 18/07/2007 19:42

Hi all

Hi smilingkiwi, glad to hear you are ok, but sorry your parents have left.

Baby bumper is now 8lb 6, so has only put on a pound in 4 weeks. HV not worried, but she is on the little side.

Just had a strop at DH for not holding on to DD while she is being cranky. He was on the computer and said "god a baby just takes over your life doesn't it?" you think? No, it's just she hasn't left my side since 5am! The only reason I managed to get a shower and lunch today is because a friend was here. So now he is contrite and looking after her. I know he has been at work all day, but I just need a break!

She slept really well, 11.30 till 5, but then after feeding had bad wind and the only position where she would settle was on my chest, which was ok, but she kept waking me up by fidgeting.

I'm in two minds about the whole "book" thing derlor. How does the whole routine thing work if say you have to go out for the evening? Or you want to change your schedule - can you be quite flexible with it? Do you have to leave the LOs to cry for long?

bumperlicious · 18/07/2007 19:45

Btw, anyone else eating the world again? I'm starving all the time - it's like being pg again!

trendaverter · 18/07/2007 19:45

DS has a pierced ear (with a little cubic zircona diamond in it) and we have shaved the sides of his head so he is now sporting a mohawk.
We got his ear done at Claires Accessories.

I just bought a tracksuit for him and we are in the process of teaching him his first word, "chav". Innit.

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 19:48

Bumper that's a damn fine weight for a 4 week old BF baby.....between 25th and 50th centile (which are based on all babies, BF babies usually lighter anyway)

It is a bit wearing when you can't do anything for them sitting on you isn't it. Weve been the same today. however, we are going into town tomorrow with DH and are having lunch out. Hopefully she will behave when it's time to get the norks out.

DH is being sat upon now. She's been awake since 3:45 as well....we're hoping for big things on the sleep front tonight.

trendaverter · 18/07/2007 19:48

Bumper, yes, in the last 2 days I have demolished 7 hob nobs!! Noooooooo

Back to the diet. Tomorrow....

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 19:50

PMSL TA....for one brief second I thought both you and Derlor were serious.....

...i need gullible shaved into my hairdo!
