Long minor crisis story:

Am treasurer at village playgroup - we have an accoutant so don't actually need to do much apart from read out her report at the meetings - help with fundraising/turn up etc. Have never been asked to do anything else for treasurer position and when have asked about stuff they always said the accountant would do it.

Then at meeting before went on holiday the chairperson (in my house) said basically that I don't do enough and this was because I was pregnant - am always happy to help and volunteer for loads of stuff - so was very angry. Decided that if someone asked me what they would do if someone said that to them would tell them to resign and get themselves a new treasurer - so I did - sent a letter to chair before I went on hols and resigned. Am I a nutter or would you be pissed off?

octo · 30/06/2007 17:43

oh and it wasn't just to me it was to thw whole committee of 10 people squashd into my lounge.

normabutty · 30/06/2007 17:49

Hey Octo (it's nutty!) - sorry haven't got your texts cos my phone ran out of battery and i keep forgetting to charge it. Will email my addy to now! (is it the nature babies ones that you missed out cos i was a bit confused as all teh ones you sent seemed to need a wrap)

Oh yeah i won flame's draw...it's one of her tye dye wambamboos...have one already (not used it yet tho) and just bought a second and i've won a third!

DH says you're in trouble cos you've got me addicted...

normabutty · 30/06/2007 17:50

Octo at that comment. I'd be p'd off to...in fact I'd have said there and then that they could 'stick it where the sun don't shine' IYKWIM!!!

CaptainDippy · 30/06/2007 17:53

"Don't do enough" - ouch - I hope you gave them a piece of your mind - I'd be rather hurt & upset to say the least - {{{{hugs}}} What is your plan of action now octo?? Nice to have you back btw!! Glad you had a nice time away & great stuff that you are a tree hugging, lentil weaving, mooncup using nutter just like me!!!!

P is waving her legs around in her bouncy chair - she is all cute & naked cos we've just come in from the rain & are all going to have a bath together (all 5 of us ) & watch Charlie & Lola (K's new DVD) & then off to bed for the little ones & glass of wine for me.....

What a grotty day it has been - yuk!!

normabutty · 30/06/2007 17:57

Bloomin heck Dippy...do you have a swimming pool in your bathroom

octo · 30/06/2007 17:57

yes the nature babies!

My sister was due to fly to glasgow inthe morning and she was due out on the flights last summer that were targeted at heathrow - nightmare/crisis of playgroup seems a little insignificant - thanks for your support

octo · 30/06/2007 17:58

CD - there is no way we'd all get in our bath!

elkiedee · 30/06/2007 19:23

octo, I'd be furious. Can't you get together with some other people and elect a nicer chairperson? ok, maybe not.

We've been gadding about during the day today, and invited some old friends who hadn't met Danny before round for the evening, and tomorrow will be a quiet day in to make up.

Dippy hope you enjoy your bath, daughter's video and wine, I don't think we could fit 3 of us in my bath either.

On real nappies I'd be more prepared to consider it than I was before motherhood - I do feel guilty about disposables - our problem is shortage of space, either for drying stuff, or if we used a nappy laundry (I've thought about it), at the front of the house - the council tells us off for leaving stuff on the pavement, it's hard getting the pram past the wheelie bin, the paper and food recycling bins as it is.

oooggs · 30/06/2007 19:35

Hi Octo - glad you enjoyed it down here in sunny Cornwall

Sexonknackeredlegs · 30/06/2007 20:31

Evening all!

Octo, glad you had a good time in Cornwall.

Dippy, hope you enjoyed your bath!

On the red wine again tonight! Waiting for dh to bring back curry - yummmyyyy!

We went to B's "Summer" Fete at preschool today which was lovely. I can't believe she will soon be leaving to go to "big" school . At least K will be attending the same place from December so we won't lose touch too much.

Hope everyone is having a good evening. Bugger all on TV tonight.

JoMa · 30/06/2007 20:50

oh Octo
is she ok? must be a bit of a shock for her to be that close to it all over again.

agree with the others, you have every right to be annoyed, i'd have told them where to shove it too!

Hi all. Sorry but havent even attempted to read this thread and catch up! Have been really busy and not around here at all. Got a text from oooggs asking if I was ok. All fine here. F has gone to bed around 6.30pm for the last 4 nights. She has just kind of done it herself TBH, yelling to tell me she is knackered!!

Really hope everyone is ok. Busy day again tomorrow for me. Mum and Dad have been away on hols and are coming here for a Sunday roast. Looking forward to them coming as I have really missed them!

Have a good evening everyone xxx
