Lupins71 · 10/07/2007 18:31

Well done Phin & Jonah, keep it up
Hmm I bet there is alot of cake eaten, or maybe they havent eaten any and its just us heeheh - I consoled myself with choc donut
I am not surprised you lose track of teachers, I struggle to remember when it is - we missed dd's school intro evening cos i forgot how to set a good impression

cameroonmama · 10/07/2007 19:03

I wish I could have gone but looking on the bright side, with 2 stone still left to lose, not eating cake is a good thing

Well done to the mini g&ts on their good school reports! Geniuses, the whole 27 of them How are you coping on your own?

Pebblemum · 10/07/2007 19:23

LG&T well done to Phin and JOnah, its great when we get glowing reports from the teachers isnt it

Ds1 bought his report home last week, he is doing really well in most subject, well above what is expected but he has a bit of an attitude problem (I could have told the teachers that but then again how many 10yr old boys dont ) apparantly if he has an arguement in the playground it affects his work in class, he wont let the matter drop (he's stubborn, dont know where he gets it from )

Met ds2's teacher from pre-school today for a chat about he has been getting on and i came away thinking that she must have the wrong boy. According to her ds2 is so lovely and sweet, always helping people, tidying up etc. There is a girl there who doesnt speak and apparantly ds2 is always helping her out and looking after her, bless him. He is also learning to recognise letters and numbers and is always counting things. His teacher is glad he isnt going up to big school in September as she doesnt want to lose him One thing that i could beleive is he has a little girl who will do anything he asks, if he wants a drink of water she does it for him, if he wants a puzzle out she will get it etc lol
I came away feeling so pleased with him, he has been playing up a bit at home so I was dreading what the teacher was going to say but it appears he is a little angel at school. Thats the way i would prefer it anyway, if he has to be a little shite its ,much better he does it at home

scootermum · 10/07/2007 19:43

Hi all..very of meet up too...I couldnt go in the end as the Dr managed to get me in for a scan today..(bit of placenta still there, yuck..have to have it removed early next week assming it doesnt come out on its onw, gross!!)
Anyway hope Tam/TYG let all the meeters upn know and you didnt all just think I hadnt bothered..was gutted to have missed you all..TBH also pretty annoyed at this faffing around at the hosp as well..just want to get on with things now without all this bother!

Sorry to whinge...

Anyway..Mae looks awful today..she has come out in a horrid rash, milk rash?Poor thing..looks like terrible acne bless her!

cameroonmama · 10/07/2007 20:08

Aw Scoot, poor you, at least they know what it is and it can be soon sorted. Poor little Mae, we are just coming out the other side of that acne and are entering the drool stage, bang on 2 months, just like his db Boys - so predictable!

Hey Pebble well done on your geniuses too. My ds seems to be doing the reverse of yours, starting to really test the boundaries at home now and coming home from pre-school saying he was naughty (when quizzed further, he admitted to 'throwing the toys out of the sandpit' ). Meanwhile at dds school the bigger kids are doing about WWII and she asked dh tonight if he had been in The War

largeginandtonic · 10/07/2007 20:55

Evening all

Poor you Scoot, very good news they have scanned you though and are removing it. It can take months of nagging for that to get anywhere sometimes. In a few days you will feel right as rain

Pebble well done on the school reports too! We do have a clever bunch

Cam im ok.....as long as it all goes smoothly. The hiccups are the things that kill me, car breaking, child toothache nightmare, parties, parents evenings etc...Trouble is i never seem to be rid of the hiccups! How are you?

Hope all the lovely ladies had a good time today, i would like a report please? Anyone????

AbbyLou · 10/07/2007 21:35

Well done to all the clever kids out there. The 2 things i have enjoyed missing the most while on maternity leave are doing Parents Evening and writing reports - I hate both! It has been a lovely feeling knowing someone else is thinking how to be polite about the biggest shite in the school!
Pebble you wouldn't believe how many times I've told parents their kids are adorable and they look at me gone out! I've often had them checking I'm talking about the right child! As you say, better to be that way round than the other.
Scooter - glad you've finally got an answer to all your problems. Bet you're so relieved it's something that's easily fixed, even if it does mean more time in hospital.
R has been ana ngel today, feeding and sleeping well and just being generally gorgeous. I can't believe she is already 9 weeks old - where does the time go? She will be my last one and it's scary to realise she's already coming out of the newborn stage.

aprilmeadow · 10/07/2007 21:44

Evening

Scoot, so pleased that they have found the cause of the bleed and that is being sorted for you.

Well done to all the kiddies on good school reports.

Meet up was lovely. All the babies were so good, apart from Ella who made herself heard! Not appreciated by a couple of people in the cafe, i think one man left because of it. I was in the queue getting the cake order in at the time. A lady asked me if she could push infront of me as she was just wanted to get a piece of cake to take away, i explained that i was waiting for cake also and that it was my child crying so if they wanted her to stop then i would need my cake first!

On the way back i started to feel really dodgy, went all hot then felt sick and then my stomach started to gurgle. Got home and had to lie down for a few hours - just got up to have some toast and check on MN!

Hope i have a good night as not feeling too crash hot.

Lupins71 · 10/07/2007 22:06

Scoot huge hugs to you, at least they know what it is and it will be dealt with

AM hope you feel ok, lol at telling the lady

Pebble well done on good reports

Us Reading ladies are having a meet up next friday - really looking forward to it, going to costa coffee and the local park to amuse the older kids

aprilmeadow · 10/07/2007 22:21

ooh a Reading meet up? Who's going Lups?

Cam, i have KK's! Will post them to you tomorrow x

Lupins71 · 10/07/2007 22:25

AM not sure - its been postd on meetups - or if you look on local mn it is under reading, why dont you come along, little J will love the park and I would love to see Ella and it an excuse for hot chocolate

Lupins71 · 10/07/2007 22:26

Also the park is 2 mins drive from tesco - and guess what they have there

Pebblemum · 11/07/2007 11:03

Morning all

Am hope you are feeling better today!!

Ive just got back from having Alana weighed and she is now 9lb 5oz at 7wks so she is gaining weight at a steady pace. She was a bit restless yesterday and didnt want to be left alone so I ended up doing the housework, making lunch etc with her strapped to my front. It meant I had chance to get things done without her screaming but it made it awkward when i needed the loo lol. Hopefully she will be a bit more settled today.

ShowOfHands · 11/07/2007 12:34

Hey all.

Just running in and out really to ask a favour. A good friend's 11 month old little boy was rushed to intensive care yesterday morning having had a virus. His kidneys are failing. Please keep him and his parents in your thoughts.

Sorry it kept me from coming to meet you all. Has been awful and far too familiar, my dsil died two years ago from kidney failure following a virus and failed transplant leaving behind my db and 8yo ds.

Will catch up properly later. Scoot, saw your news, good that they've found the culprit, not so good that you have this wait.

Love to all.

largeginandtonic · 11/07/2007 12:47

Lots of love on the way to all of you SOH. I hope he is ok, little one's are tough just remember that. Sorry you didn't get to go to the meet up, i will be stalking you soon Huge hugs too xxxxx

AM hope you feel better today and it was just a one off.

I wonder howlong it would take me to get to Reading.... i may come too Lups.

Oh bugger Beau is off again

aprilmeadow · 11/07/2007 13:04

Feel like someone has kicked me in the stomach today. Got up at 7am when Ella woke then we went back to bed and she slept, played and then fed then played again til 12pm! Just got showered and feel slightly better - not even a KK made it feel better

SOH sorry we didnt get to meet up yesterday, hope your friends little boy gets better soon.

LG&T took me an hour and 15mins(pants weather) to get back from Gun Wharf to J5 M3 & it takes about 20-30mins from there to Reading. Depends on where abouts in Reading it is.

scootermum · 11/07/2007 14:05

Hi all..L dispatched to cm for the afternoon to give me a break..I love her to death but my word, the child never stops! She is saying a few words now as well and this morning has strted yeling 'spider' for no apparent reason over and over again, oh the peace when she is out Was going to have a lovely cuddly time with M but she is sound asleep in het chair so thought would bob on here instead...

thanks for your thoughts all..will be lovely to feel right again...fed up with feeling half there..

Thinking of your friend SOH..

Off to Bumps and Babes in a bit..cant much be bothered today, but feel obliged since I organise the group...Would sooner stay in and go back to bed TBH!

scootermum · 11/07/2007 14:05

Is it a tummy bug April?Hope you feel better soon..

madeindevon2 · 11/07/2007 15:13

hi all. havent been on here in an while. how is everyone? everyone's babies doing well!?
i dont know how you all find time to get on here so much!
Freddie and i are doing well. hes still very spotty, has almost lost all his hair (just got monk type strip at the back!) and has cradle cap too. but hes still totally gorgeous of course!
hes 5 weeks ond now and last night slept from 9pm til 5.15am. rather nice! he doesnt do that every night tho. not yet anyway!
hes not on the boob as long now as he was.....is he feeding less or is just quicker at it?? wont be weighed again until next week. and not been weighed for a few weeks now so i dont know if he is gaining much or not.
taking freddie to see family tomorrow. 1.5 hrs in the car each way. should be fine. he slept for about 4 hours in the car last week. but DH was with me then....this will be first longer journey alone. its only 5 weeks since the c section after all.

nappyaddict · 11/07/2007 15:30

sorry to but in but

MKG · 11/07/2007 16:53

Hey everyone!! I have to say that everything is good here. Dh has been working on the house and putting in a backsplash in the kitchen. Well ds1 has been so desperate for daddy's attention that he started running around in circles and screaming "I dancing!!" It was really sweet considering I didn't know he knew I to say dancing. I wish I could freeze him at this age.

Cruz is good, he's so sweet. Am jealous of all the ladies having meet-ups. Someone has to move to the US so we can have a Northeast US meetup.

juliewoolie · 11/07/2007 17:13

MKG whereabouts are you think you mentioned NY area. I am heading to Manhatten at the end of August to introduce my little man to Bloomingdales maybe we could have a little meet up of our own.

Had a lovely time at the meetup yesterday not so lovely time on the way home. Horrible bus driver opened the door to the bus let someone on and then said no buggies and drove off! Only upside was I walked home took an hour but it worked off the cake.

SOH thinking of your friend how awful.

APRIL must have been the victoria sponge, hope you feel better soon

Well my little old man has aquired the acne spots and he is getting a bald patch at least I know what he will look like when he hits his teens and his 50's.

aprilmeadow · 11/07/2007 18:43

not feeling any better, so went to the dr's and none the wiser. Dr said it could be pulled muscles due to me lugging Ella round in the baby bjorn and carrying the buggy plus bag or it could be a bug. All tests were fine, urine, bp temp and breathing. Said if it were a bug then he couldnt give anything for it as i am bf'ing

Hope i feel better tomorrow as i have family JB coming for afternoon tea

largeginandtonic · 11/07/2007 19:21

Oh April poor you I hope you feel better soon. Say hi to the JB family for me, they got their friends to send me some vouchers to use at the dry ski slope center that they used to run. We are off to stay in a camp site next to it at the end of this month. She is so lovely and she left me a vast box of vino blanc!

PEBBLE i also have 2 bottles of that wine you love from MrsJB!!! We must meet up soon

I have also been emailing Charleymouse, Little George was doing loads better and if he stayed off his oxygen for 24 hrs he was going to be let out I have not heard for 24 hrs so really hope she is busy at home with George. Brave lady, it is the hardest thing in the world having your tiny little one in the hospital.

Im having a HUGE GIN AND TONIC...... tis very nice

The twins had their parents evening today, all well, little boffins. Very proud mummy moment.

Beau yelling his head off, i just love this time of the day (hence the gin)

2 asleep.1 yelling, 1 faffing around (dd not) and 2 in the bath. Bed time, yay!!!

largeginandtonic · 11/07/2007 19:23

Also did TYG go to the meet up, i have been texting her for a couple of days and heard nothing. Hope she is ok.
