Evening all, am currently listening to the dulcet tones of my darling son SCREAMING his little head off. Why oh why does he do this every night?

Arlen will be just fine Lupins, dont worry. It amazes me how our little ones have us all in flat panic all ready, they are not even staying out late and drinking with mates yet Lots of love and hugs on the way to you xxxxx

Cam i too am struggling to express, the evening is my only time really. This is the third night i have put the steriliser on and not opened it. Hope fully when your 00 gets back he could assist At least with the children anyway

I woke up with a very sore boob this morning and have been achy and headachy all day. Fed Beau after the school run and noticed my right boob very red where it hurts Is murder to feed him from it, but have been as it may just be a blocked duct. The other one hurts too but only when i let down, hope it will not appear there too.

Have had another crazy day, booked Jonah's party in the local play center. Went to tesco to get his bike only to find they have all sold out Then went to pick up a parcel from Interlink, it took me an hour to find the place! Was hidden in the depths of Titchfield. By the time i got back i had to fill in the birthday invites and leg it to school.

DD has a friend home for tea so further squeals and chaos to deal with. DD complained her tooth hurt and started crying at tea. It must be bad as she is a tough little thing (like her mum ) So i have phoned the emergency dentist and they can see her at 9am tom! So much for a restful saturday. Poor thing though, toothache is horrid.

Im reading school reports.....there are many Must eat too, aha that reminds me......now this really is the best news......wait for it......

KRISPY KREME DONUTS ARE COMING TO MY LOCAL TESCO SOON!!!!!

Now clearly i interrogated the staff but no one knew when soon was, grrrrr

I know what your thinking, simple things......

largeginandtonic · 06/07/2007 21:23

Sorry LW didnt forget you. I move home when i was pregnant with the twins, it was very hard sharing space with my family. I had been on my own since i was 17 and at 21 it was quite a shock to be sharing a kitchen\bathroom etc. The babies took over everything too, i was always aware of the mess and chaos that surrounded us. My mum never openly complained but would get grumpy from time to time. She missed us an awful lot when i did move out though and said she never minded just as we all do she got stressed out with it sometimes. Im sure it is nothing to worry about Come and stay here, nice Uni in Southampton you know

juliewoolie · 06/07/2007 21:35

aaahhh krispy kreme mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

cameroonmama · 06/07/2007 22:03

Hey, maybe I will finally be able to taste an infamous KK - if they are in Porstmouth they may even reach Somerset sometime during this decade

Sorry about the sore boob LG&T sounds a bit mastitis-like, hope you can feed through it, I had a similar situation last week but it all seems fine now. Toothache - yeuk, poor wee dd...

aprilmeadow · 06/07/2007 22:28

LW&W Sorry that you are feeling down at the moment. Great news on C's weight

WOO HOO LG&T KK's!!

Cam, if you send me your address i will post you some KK's. I have 2 places locally that sell them and i am off to town on Sunday so could pick some up, package them up and post them on Monday........ anyway of you want some then please email me on [email protected] that goes for you too LG&T i only have the plymouth address for you.

Knackered today. Got through my mountain of ironing only to discover the washing basket over flowing

Jack didnt go down to bed until 9.15 and Ella went at 10pm! The man that is doing our garden came over to start shifting the 3tonnes of top soil and brought his wife and son, who then stayed for Pizza and therefore mucked up our whole evening routine. I just hope that they both sleep well tonight.

LWandLottie · 07/07/2007 03:06

Quick post before I collapse into bed. Mum seemed a bit brighter this evening, so sorry for coming on here and being miserable but don't have anyone else that I can vent to about this stuff. Hope it gets better. Was really upset the other night as she started bugging me about uni stuff, and I told her I was thinking about taking the year out of uni and returning next year when Charlotte's older. To which she replied 'you can't just stay at home and be a bum lw!' I was just like, thanks!

It's as if she's forgotten how bloody hard having a new baby is - and she did it with a husband who helped her 50/50. I know I have help from them but I do pretty much everything on my own, and I'm the one getting up in the nights, doing all the feeds etc. I don't expect them to do any of that but I would just like the hurtfull comments to stop. If it goes on I might think about moving out, which I don't want and I can't afford it but I can't live with us all being miserable and I'm starting to feel as if it's my fault everyone feels this way! The way I look at it is, woman now get 9 months maternity leave. So why am I expected to put my baby into nursery at 3 months old and have strangers look after her and get back to doing uni full time so quickly. Gah!

Right have a screaming baby to feed, have added more pictures to my profile of Lottie the chunkster! Night all, catch up later x

Lupins71 · 07/07/2007 09:29

Lgt hope little ones tooth get sortes, I still havent had mine fixed from when it cracked in half so i sympathise with her - even worse when you are little, hope your saturday is slightly less stressed, shame you are not still in plymouth we are off to gunnislake in the next few weeks could have met up

KK's have come to our tesco's as well - que much excitment from lups' and a very amused checkout lady lol - maybe they are puting them in all of them yummmmmmmmyyyyyy

Lw I am sure your mum doesnt mind you staying and she just doesnt want you to throw away your studies after you have been through so much at uni, probably a long time since hers were little and she may have forgotten how precious if not hard work having a baby can be - it is always hard living with other people i am really hoping we all get on in portugal wont be able to afford to come home

Forgot to say A was 10lb 2 the other day, he is just too flippin cute and has now started rolling onto his side and if you put him on his tummy and put your hands behind his feet (not pushing) he can move himself along - went about 2ft the other day before collapsing in a knackered heap he did look chuffed with himself tho

A has also seemed to get himself into a routine he goes down at 7 every night - I havent posted this before as i thought it might be flooks bt no this seems to be when he likes to go to bed wooooohoooo, just dd to sort out now grrrrr

Have a good day all looks like we may get some rare sunshine, better battle the wash bin yet again

Lupins71 · 07/07/2007 15:35

helloooooooo (hears an echo)

LWandLottie · 07/07/2007 15:43

ooooo, it's very quiet in here today! Thanks Lupins, think we may just be having a few off days, hope it gets better soon. Good to see A's doing so well, hard to imagine him being over 10lbs now becasue he was so tiny when he was born!

LWandLottie · 07/07/2007 15:48

My profile symbol seems to be missing......

aprilmeadow · 07/07/2007 18:45

Lupins thats great news on the KK's... I mean on A having set his own bedtime I cant believe that he is now over 10lbs, i bet he has changed so much since the last time i saw him.

LW&L, for starters i have no idea why in my last post i referred to you as LW&W.... must have been having a brain freeze! Your little munchkin looks so cute and you are looking fantastic!

Cam, hope you got my email.

I have posted an updated picture of my garden in what we like to call 'stage 2'. Stage 3 - the final stage - will include turf and decking on the lower patio as the one that is there is all lumpy and bumpy and not kind on bare feet.

Once the garden is finished then we will start on the inside. Lounge, both sets of stairs and landings, our bedroom and 2 bathrooms are in need of painting. Our room especially as it is a gorgeous tangerine colour at present . Then dh has decided that he wants to replaace the lounge and hallway carpet with a real wood floor as the previous owners chose a cream carpet.. not practical and totally ruined even after having it cleaned twice. Figured that wood is easier to clean once the fun of weaning starts in a few months.

Harry Potter is on tv at the moment, i guess building up the excitement of Order of the Phoenix which is released on Thursday. I am off to see it on Wednesday 18th - so excited

Hope you are all enjoying the nice weather, hope it is the start of our summer........

largeginandtonic · 07/07/2007 20:58

I wanna go see Harry Potter! We dont have a cinema that is for mums n babes so short of sneaking him in under my top i stand no chance of going

Lwandlottie i just looked at your sparkly new profile page, Lottie is sooooo cute, like her mammy But i have to say.... PMSL at your parenting ideals, giving kids what they need not what they want, good idea but when Lottie is pleading for a Bratz doll in 3 years i will have to remind you

April i hope you get your garden sorted soon, the house sounds like a project too!Sure it will be worth it all in the end

Am tired, so tired. Need a rest, Beau been up all day and the kids wanted to go to the beach. So after a trudge round waitrose after my epic trek to the hospital this morning with dd's sore tooth i took them to the beach. Didnt get home till 6, want my bed

Good news though the lovely dentist filled Phin's tooth (tiny hole) and phoned me later to say she would take us on her books permanantly in her practise! I think the kids all charmed her

Spoke to DH for a nanosecond, he sounds ok, just misses me and the kids. must be lonely for him, at least i get to see all the children for company

Lupins71 · 07/07/2007 21:11

Thanks all, it does seem a milestone A being over 10lb, I have to keep looking at his pics to remember how ickle he was and even in the pics the perspective isnt there, I did take some of my finger next to his leg to show him one day

LGT slowwwwwww down, good news about the dentist tho, happy anniversary for tomorrow, hope you get to speak to dh for a bit longer

Am ehehehe cant wait to see E again bet she has changed as well, A is a stocky little fella short and butch lol, just tooo cute

Have had a lovely day with dd today, caught the bus and went to the big park, had a walk around then went to boots to buy some steri bottles and milk as i had forgotten to pick up the bottle bag AGAIN!! then popped to asda bought sandwiches and 20 mini donuts which we pretty much demolished then went to the park - was really nice to be out and the sun shining

Right off to watch csi and put my feet up, all the dishes are done as its my bday tomorrow i am doing sweet fa night all

largeginandtonic · 07/07/2007 21:41

Happy birthday for tomorrow Lups, sure i will see you in here tomorrow but just inacse you are whisked off somewhere by your dh

Lupins71 · 07/07/2007 22:18

Sonny was on my shortlist - was still pushing for it as a 2nd name when we went o registery office, even said he could have valentino if i could have sonny, but noooo rhys will do fine

aprilmeadow · 08/07/2007 07:25

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR LUPINS
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

Hope you have a good day and enjoy the nice weather.

I have been up since 5.30 but am pleased in a way Ella went down at 7.30 and this is when she woke, thats the longest she has gone at night TEN hours!!! Then just as i was falling asleep ds woke up and i had promised dh a lie in So since 6.50am i have been ironing!! oh and watching the film Cars for about the 1000th time!

Glad that Phin's tooth is all sorted LG&T. i just hope that you have a quieter day today. You must try and take it a bit easy

InTheseShoes · 08/07/2007 08:38

Morning and happy birthday Lupins and happy anniversary to LGT! Hope the sun shines today for you (and the rest of us by proxy!)

Not much occuring here - T is fine, he is really rather big, I must get him weighed this week, I had lunch with a girl I met a t hospital this week (she is lovely, I am so glad I met her!) and Ted looked massive next to her baby, who is no titch himself, born around 9lbs and weighing on his centile since. I didn't think I would be that interested in weight this time as I got myself in a bit of a tizz last time with the whole bf/weightgain business, but I am curious! He is also extremely cute, and very smiley

I had a bit of a wobble yesterday, not sure why. I've been feeling fine, and I am getting sleep and eating well, which I realise makes me very lucky indeed, but I felt a bit overcome and weepy yesterday, just for a little while, and really, really exhausted, which I have no right to be. I managed to self medicate by lying on the sofa flicking between Wimbledon and LiveEarth and eating Green and Black's white chocolate with T snoozing on my chest - felt much better after that.

Having some friends round for lunch later, so better get on. Have a good day all

aprilmeadow · 08/07/2007 08:46

Forgot to wish you a happy anniversary LG&T

cameroonmama · 08/07/2007 10:19

Happy Birthday Lups, I hope you have a great day

Happy Anniversary LG&T, will you get to speak to dh today? I saw your other post last night on the multiples thread and the homestart thingy looked promising and the idea of finding some local students who might need some experience of looking after small children also sounds like a great idea if only to let you get to Tesco's on your own while dh is away (only to buy KKs obviously ) I am finding it quite difficult looking after three especially when dh is away (apparently his next 00 mission is at the end of the month to India)so you get all my respect

ITS - I too feel totally exhausted, I think it is just a post-birth accumulation of emotions and tiredness catching up, the bf also tires me out, without me realising it.. However I like your self-medication, I think I might try it out

April, the garden is really coming on a pace. I can't believe you were ironing at such an hour this morning! My ironing pile ressembles the leaning tower of Pisa. Why does the washing basket never seem to empty? Thank goodness we are going back to Africa where I can gainfully employ someone who can iron much faster and better than I can Thanks for the email - I will be posting my KK research report early next week

Right, off to take dd to her first ever ballet exam, I had to scrub off the tattoo and the pink nail varnish last night as these are 'not done' in the ballet world, she's only 5 fgs!

Enjoy the sunshine.

Lupins71 · 08/07/2007 15:52

hello and thanks all, i feel so fat just had pizza hut and kk feel nicely sick

scootermum · 08/07/2007 16:42

Happy Birthday Lups!
Happy Anniversary largegandt!

THANKYOU MRS JB..who has sent me some lovely biscuits..three boxes came yesterday...how many boxes do you think are left?!

Hope G is doing better charley-thinking of you-home in two weeks so will see you then hopefully..

LW-for you re exp and Mum..My Mum gets arsey with me if we have been together alot, and vice versa. We both just like our own space I guess...could it be a touch of that? All you can do is be as nice as ninepence to her and get on with being a brilliant Mummy yourself..she will come around..

Glad to hear 00 has come back early Cam..I have had 6 days solo with my ones, DH working away and then out all day yesterday and was at wits end by the end of it..

We are having to lock the real Scooter out as well Tam..he is not happy and I feel very guilty..he used to be the baby really and has been seriously displaced!

Well done Ella Aprilmeadow on the 10 hours..even I dont sleep 10 hours!Mae did three nights 10.30-5.30 but now back to waking once at about 4 ish, but then at 4 weeks sleeping through would be pushing it a bit I suppose to be fair..

Big hello to everyone else..

Well am STILL poorly..(can I have a prize for the most annoying but- fortunately- not that -serious- ailments since giving birth please?)Chest infection and still bleeding so back to hosp for a scan I go this week..

DH and I have had a 'discussion' today..he has been away all week at some conference about Big Macs or some such, out watching 20/20 cricket on Friday night, hungover Sat morning so useless, paintballing yesterday afternoon..DH said he would sort the girls this morning to give me a little rest...He then spent the entire morning asking me,'where's this?', 'wheres that?', left Mae with me whilst he went to Tesco as he thought it would be 'too difficult' with both, (christ knows how I manage it!),couldnt manage to entertain Lily for half an hour whilst I battled with hair,(hence she got in my make up bag and got blusher everywhere), didnt pack the bottle bag for going out to friends house for lunch, didnt think to put sun cream on the kids...some rest FFS!Think just coz I feel rough I did lose it a bit, but really..Why must I do everything ALL the time?!

Anyway he has now taken the girls with him to do the recycling so I am eating my chocolate dream KK, (New sort, not half bad) and having a go on here..havent been able to get on for ages..connection down..

BTW Largegandt..had hair deep conditioned last week..was convinced would come home with a glossy mane that would last about a week...it lasted about 3 hours...have concluded that NOTHING exists that will make my hair any easier to do..although am now seriously considering products designed for Afro hair as suggested by my deputy at work who has an Afro herself..when am in London for the meet up I might pop in and get some Afro relaxer or something..will let you know if it works...or does anyone know if it will be too strong and make my hair fall out or something?

scootermum · 08/07/2007 16:46

Also did someone say they were having a student to do placement with them?I have forwarded my name to our local college who want families with kids for students to spend two days a week with to get childcare experience..I hope I get one!Although where will they stand on nipping to Tescos for me to pick me up some KKs and hair relaxer does anyone think? Or is not the idea to get them to do errands?

Ah I hear DH and two screaming girls approaching outside..suppose had better go and assist..

Lupins71 · 08/07/2007 16:47

AM forgot to post OMG 10 hours you lucky thing, that is what i will dream of tnite during one of my 1-2 hr snatches lol

Gingerbear · 08/07/2007 19:30

LW&L. I just wanted to post and give you a big hug - I think you are doing a great job with Lottie. It is early days and the 'babymoon' period where everyone is happy and smiley has past and now the low bit has arrived - you are getting into a routine, a small baby is very demanding, no time to yourself and on top of all that your nearest and dearest are driving you mad. It will get better - honestly! I had this with DD 5 yrs ago, and am struggling again with DS. I feel like the worst mum in the world - the house is a tip, DD has to fend for herself, and I snap and argue with DH at the slightest thing. I know it will get better, but it seems a long way off just yet.

twelveyeargap · 08/07/2007 21:12

LW&L - My mum was "weird" with me a lot of the time when I lived with her when DD1 was first born. Then when I arranged to move out she wasn't sure she wanted me to! My mum hit the roof when I said I wanted to take a year off school (I was about to go into the final year of high school) in order to spend time with DD. She knew right well it would be next to impossible for me to "get back into it". I wonder if your mum is worried about that too? Loathe as I am to admit it, she was right. There's no way I'd have wanted to go back after having a year off with her.

Well, I'm a bit spooked. I fed A at 7, bathed her, got her ready for bed. Fed her again at about 8 and put her in her cot, awake and left. It's now 9 and I haven't heard a peep out of her. Up til now I've had to put her down very almost asleep, shush her, pat her, and so on ad infinitum until she finally dropped off. It's too good to be true. I bet tomorrow night, she'll have a freaker and I'll be up there for hours trying to get her to sleep.

BUT, I do think the "bedtime rituals" thing must be working. Hurrah. Must go and shower and do my hair whilst the going is good.

Did I mention DD had 5 girls staying over last night. Gagh! It was her belated birthday party. 7 came over, though 2 weren't allowed to stay. At 1am I had to go up about the noise. They were sandwiching each other between the air mattresses and squealing. Reminded them that my bedroom was RIGHT underneath them. They were more quiet after that, but apparently didn't go to sleep until 4.30am. Not surprised with the amount of sugar they consumed. Jaysis. DD1 had to have a nap today!
