Hmmmm.... flapjack

Spent all evening trying to find a stupid bloody holiday. Obv all booked up as we can only go on a certain weekend in July ie peak time. But so many places, you cant find out room info for crappy reasons like 'the number of children exceeds the number of adults' or 'maximum of 2 children per room' or one even refused to process because all 4 kids were under 5

Flame, i looked at a hotel in Bournemouth (The B. International, was it?), entered the number of adults/kids/baby, picked 2 rooms to cater for everyone, and it wouldnt quote a price because it said I hadnt got a bed for everyone over those two rooms. I'm giving up!

Flame · 25/06/2007 22:09

Not sure about prices but they are lovely. Where we had the wedding, lovely guy in charge can't do enough to help you.

KelBelle · 25/06/2007 22:54

Hello,

Well my date was a bit of a disaster!! My so called friend has a bit of a "nervous" problem which means he cant perform!!! I was a bit shocked to be honest, he has always been known as a bit of a stud but they do say the ones that talk about it cant actually manage it!! We did manage about 2 mins then gave up - that was the second attempt . He wants to take me out for a drink Wed but I'm not sure to be honest, it feels like it isnt meant to be. I dont think I fancy him enough to prolong it really, might go for the drink and see how I feel. SIGH!

Took marriage certificate into solicitors yesterday too so divorce papers should be through soon.

As I'm a single mum on benefits now I get a warmfront grant and they are going to replace my boiler for a new energy efficient one so I'm well chuffed

DS been a very happy little boy today, he keeps tugging one ear though so not sure if more teeth will come through or perhaps a bad ear. We will see what develops.

CSWS - shame you dont live closer - I make great fruit cakes!!!!

Jas · 25/06/2007 23:13

mrm- I can't find your address. Please will you email it to me....

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/06/2007 07:30

I've e-mailed you her address (sans postcode I'm afraid) in case she doesn't see this in time.

for your date Kel.
I did think of you when I was searching for a cake maker.

Finding a holiday is a very stressful activity mrm - you should start a thread to get everyone else to share the burden!

Jas · 26/06/2007 07:38

Thankyou csws.

for new boiler though, Kel. Much more useful than a man imo!

mrm we had the same problem when trying to book euroisney online. My brother was about to fork out for 2 chalets when the website crashed, so he rang, and they overrodethe computer that wouldn't accept more than one baby, and we are all going to be in one.

Flame · 26/06/2007 08:03

anyone know anything?

mustrunmore · 26/06/2007 08:11

Well, I was going to say you musy be pg Flame, but I've never had a dodgy arm as a symptom Ds1 has a very snotty cold and is very tired/lightheaded. But thats from getting wet at the school fair and at aerosmith

Thanks for passing on my address csws. Is this a good time to mention that we forgot to get the drawers downstairs last night, so we'll have to trap the babies in the front room while we do it?

I dont think I can be bothered to go on holiday!
Flame, that place looks nice, but I couldnt get much useful room info as we're looking for something for 3 adults and 4 kids so i'd have to ring them. Did ever tell you that the first time I got marreid, we went to check outthe venue for the do, and theywere having new leaflets done, so we ended up in all the photos on it, posing as people using the facilities?!

mustrunmore · 26/06/2007 08:13

Kel, maybe you're just too scary for him
Can you get free loft insulation too, or is that just for old people? My Mum was entitled to £5000 worth of energy improvements, and she's only used about £30000 of it, because she cant think of anything else to get done Shsme she cant transfer it to us!!

2boysmacca · 26/06/2007 08:29

Yes Flame that'w what we all had last week. I throw up with it but dh just felt sickly but couldn't get himself out of bed. The postive side is, it's a 24 hour bug so you'll be feeling tickety boo by tomorrow!

First paid session with the PT in half an hour. I think I'm only just feeling 'normal' after Thursdays session trying to incorporate a few exrercises he showed me. Youc an safely say I'll be knackered!

for boiler Kel, agree with Jas, far more useful than a man!!

Flame · 26/06/2007 08:35

Argh Macca - I can't go to bed

2boysmacca · 26/06/2007 08:44

mil took day off to look after boys for me when I got it, thanfully.

Flame · 26/06/2007 08:45

My friend is takgin DD in for me

2boysmacca · 26/06/2007 11:48

MRM
Very basic explanation as I'm sure you know what I mean with brief description

15 mins of boxing/kick boxing for cardio and body workout

The following are 2 sets of 15 reps
legs
squats
lunges
lie on floor with feet on swiss ball, and roll the ball towards you, lifting your bum high int he air (feel your ham strings and calves)

arms and back
bicep curls (on demi ball for balance and love handles)
sit on ball, bend over and lift weight (5k each) from under knees out to sides, keep arms straight
5k weight over shoulder and raise arm straight above head for bat wings
machine for lower back

problem areas
crunches via swiss ball
lie on back, lift head and feet 1inch of ground and leg lifts
left side plank
right side plank
straight plank

I think that's all, but I might have missed some out. Loved the boxing, haven't done that in years!

Frizbe · 26/06/2007 12:58

Macca ouch! sounds like a good workout to me, gibber.....think I may swim tonight, as got scuppered by powercut, just when I'd persuaded myself to go out last night!

MRM is it lovely flapjack?
about the website crash, hope you can get something booked soon?

Flame, hope you feeling a bit better? and got some rest this am? sounds like was said, virus thingy, bit like what I thought I was getting last week too, but didn't......

CSWS yay for catering sorted, good luck with the fruit cake.

Kel re bloke, just goes to show those rumours can be a load of codswallop eh see how you feel wed eh? might just be good to get out for a drink?

Managed to dry the tent this am, so that's good here. Have chucked dd2 into bed for a nap, so off to clean bathrooms in a mo, then hopefully she'll be up for twisting tots in an hour?

mustrunmore · 26/06/2007 13:53

macca, that was vaguely amusing... saw where you said 'brief description' then scanned down the list. Read 'legs' and thought 'god, thats a bit too brief' until I realised that was a heading for the section Have read properly now, and am relieved to find that I'm already doing lot of the stuff. Not the boxing, as dh cant go to work bruised . But do squats and hamstring curls, crunches on ball and on floor (given the fact my back hurts though, so not many!) leg raises etc. Not really doing much arm stuff. But am doing back extentions on the ball to try and strengthen it so I can do ab stuff better IYSWIM.

At at the moment, i'm exercising my digestive system by eatingthe other half of my flapjack 'Tis very very nice. 3 pieces to hide for the future , before dh comes home and finds them And I have a landing back again!!! Jas gets drawers, i get to be upstairs without scraping myself or falling down the first bit of staircase!

Jas, ds1 fell asleep at toddler group She brought him home, fed him, took him to nursery for me while I had her ds2. I've had such a jammy day so far!
And lodger's coming back tonight

mustrunmore · 26/06/2007 13:54

Except, macca, I'm doing 4 sets of 12 of everything. Not sure if that was worth posting, but I feel the need to complete what I had in my head to put!!

2boysmacca · 26/06/2007 14:55

I used to do 4 sets of 10 but it feels far more intensive the way he is doing it.

Jas · 26/06/2007 19:46

Is everyone off dealing with floods?

Thanks for a lovely morning, and the drawers, mrm. They are just what I needed.

I now have a slate-free house(dp has been retiling a neighbours bay window, and this involved cutting loads of old tiles to size)

Jas · 26/06/2007 19:49

Oh yes, I got free loft insulation and a new hot water boiler from warm front when we were having a really bad year. DP refused the loft insulation as he planned on converting the loft and didn't want to have to take it all out again....about 3 years ago. No sign of loft conversion.

2boysmacca · 26/06/2007 20:06

Nope dealing with the aftermath of my gym session

Off to watch Hyde.....

2boysmacca · 26/06/2007 20:18

I have just been looking at Facebook and realised where you live Chloe! I used to go out with a guy from there, can't for the life of me remember where. Near where Northern Registrars used to be based (now Capita) if that helps

Really going to wtch Hyde now, tea made, biscuit on the table....a fine way to spend an evening!

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/06/2007 21:58

Still struggling to comprehend the amount of rain elsewhere in the country, when it seems so normal here.

Managed to find someone who will make a cake today, as long as we order by the weekend. Just need to choose design now, so have spent the evening browsing cake designs all over the web.

Dd nappies still hideous - runny and yuk, but only 2 in a day, so guess that doesn't really count as diarrhoea?

again for flapjack.

mustrunmore · 26/06/2007 22:03

All I can say is that my run of luck has ended. jas wil confirm howshit my fridge looked today, you all know what i had left, Tescos was due to deliver at 8pm...... they just phoned. The van broke down, so they're not delivering They transfered me to the technical dept as I couldnt reorder because it was on the 'being picked' status, they put the order into my checkout for me, and I've reordered. But there's no sign on my account of them recrediting the £250 yet i'm now sooo worried that it'll get taken out twice, and we'll go overdrawn, and it'll be a nightmare to get the money back from bloody inept Tesco. Looks likes its cereal for 3 meals tomorrow, with flapjack for pudding!
