Have received loud and clear L&S
Londoner - hope all ok and all sorts itse;f out.
Chacha - also sending wishes your way too.

Ok - so who else is on this facebook thing then? Just trying to get started on it, and have confused myself already - what with poking and all sorts!? Only got 3 friends at the mo - and one of those is my husband!

Right - off to try and do some more xmas shopping!?

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I've only just noticed that Chacha is pg!!!! . Still haven't had time to catch up yet but saw the mention of m/s.
CONGRATULATIONS my dear
(and I still have no intention of another)

Rodeo · 11/12/2007 11:50

Hello strangers!
Just a quick pop on (at BILs house) to wish you all a lovely Christmas [fsmIle]
And OMG OMG MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO Chacha and Twinkle When are you both due? Are you close? Great news anyway!
We're hectic this end as usual...Trying to get organised for Christmas, but bank balance says NO! Having my mum over because she fell over holding Joe's hand rollerskating a few weeks and broke her arm and it needed pinning, still riding and running, had a few school events on, and it's parties and carol services a go-go this week, might just go into hibernation....
Sorry for any news I've missed, will be back when HP give us our laptop back.
Got the name of my Secret Santa babe last night too! V.exciting!

novadandypowder · 12/12/2007 11:18

right lets try and catch up before it's 2008!

moving in day:
cats see the cat boxes come out and two (managed to catch the other, half in half out)do a runner even though I've blocked up the cat flap (not very effectively it turns out). Chase cats into garden, get clawed in face prising one off the fence, the other is long gone. Get two cats to the cattery, we guess we'll just leave the other to fend for himself for the weekend - that'll teach him! As we're about to leave, the cat comes back so we bustle him into a box and drop him off.

Get to Goring and pick up keys. I wake up noo by slamming the car door on return from the estate agents, she spends the rest of the journey crying loudly.

Get to the house to discover previous owners still in the process of moving out. Hole ourselves up in an empty room whilst DH goes off to try and find lunch.

Over an hour later still no sign of DH or our van that's bringing our boxes from London.

DH finally comes back with a sandwich, hurrah, but still no sign of the van

Van finally arrives - cue lots of unpacking to get things done before the kids bedtime.

Ocado arrive with food, hurrah. Takeaway pizza arrives, double hurrah.

The next day:
(I had called furniture village a few days previous to make sure everything is ok)

Get a call from DH (who has had to go to London for the day) to say Furniture Village haven't been paid for the furniture we're waiting for. Manage to pay and wait eagerly for van. Van comes, but is missing key items of furniture - delivery men look blankly at me. Cue more calls to FV. I now have to wait until monday to find out when other pieces will be delivered (we only ordered the stuff because they said it was in stock and could be delivered on the saturday) .

Other van arrives from Aspace with kids beds and furniture. We are missing instructions for the chest of drawers. BIL has come to help put things together and says we are missing pieces for one of the bunk beds. More phone calls, more waiting.

Sunday:
Waiting for washing machime and tumble dryer to arrive between 8 and 1. 1 comes and goes. I call Comet and they have tried to deliver to the wrong address (our London house number on Goring street). Manage to get them later in the afternoon.

Monday:
After much chasing it is confirmed that we'll have the rest of the FV stuff on wednesday.

Tuesday:
Receive missing stuff from Aspace, but it's the wrong pieces. After much huffing and puffing down the phone, we realise that I actually have the wrong instructions for the bunk bed, NOT the wrong pieces. Manage to put it together with no instructions - yay me!

Wednesday:
Kids are going loopy as I've not been able to take them out due to weather/ waiting for deliveries. I take them out puddle splashing and manage to ruin noo's shoes (turns out they are not as waterproof as they claimed to be). Very grumpy man for Virgin Media turns up to do phone line.

Thursday:
Very very eager to get home now, tidy up and pack kids in car, very confident that I know how to get back to London. Manage to get lost and end up adding another 45mins to journey much to noos annoyance.

Thats kind of about the main bits, but have been manic ever since, trying to do xmas shopping, ordering more stuff for new house, trying to plan ahead for new year- ahhh!! So much to do.

Anyhoo, hope everyone is good , and well done if you've read this far.

Bekxmastreemum · 12/12/2007 11:28

Nova crack up, don't they say that moving and having kids are the most stressful things you can do! I reckon you should have put the kids in the cattery too

Sounds like you're enjoying yourself really though, well done you for getting everything sorted without your dh's help

Beks

twinkle1 · 12/12/2007 14:10

Wow nova you are sooo organised
Well no need to drink in pregnancy here just made the christmas cake, the house smells like the glenfidick distillery Hick!! and the cake is 90% proof and needs a health warning I love the smell of baking christmas cakes though it makes me feel really festive I keep thinking I have lots to do must do it,then go for an afternoon nap with DS2 oh well
Right need gas mark 1 for 3hrs (I feel a fanny craddock oment coming on must go or cake will spontaneously combust

SiLondonerNight · 12/12/2007 14:55

Hiya,
Thanks girls. It's going to be alright. Phew. Sorry again to pull out of Secret Santa and hope you all really enjoy taking part.
Nova, my hair was standing on end for the duration of your post. You deserve a medal! Glad all is in place now, you have certainly earned yourself a few holidays in your new home after that lot!
Twinkle, poor ds, so glad he's back on track so quickly , lol at xmas cake, how do you do it btw? Can imagine you'd need a rest after all that pg or not.
ChaCha, glad you're feeling okay so far with this pg, good news.
Beks, hi there, Hi Diege, RODEO!!!! Hurrah! Hi BB, Hi GG, Hi L&S. Right, more costume stuff to do. x

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 12/12/2007 14:58

Hello!! Just a quickie to ask TWINKLE to check on here tomorrow morning, to make sure I can still make the meet-up. Libby has been sent home ill from nursery. She's been up to drs with dh, and has a 'virus' (when do they not ). Fingers crossed she will be ok for nursery tomorrow, but she does have a temp, so will confirm things tomorrow morning. Grrr, kids eh ; she must have sensed a mummy-free day!

twinkle1 · 12/12/2007 15:08

no problem diege,
will check in before i set off in the morning. Most of ds1 dd1 school seem to have some sort of virus!!!!
twinkle

novadandypowder · 12/12/2007 16:18

ooo isn't that always the way Diege, I get really annoyed if noo and/or miniman need to be off nursery the shame.

Twinkle - if you do get a P&T, please don't pay full price, Practical Pushchairs offer the best deal at the moment. Was very annoyed at a friend of mine who got one without consulting me and paid far too much! Also, would you like to inherit my lazy ted? It's a genius invention, it's four metal poles that fit in a bag you can put under the pushchair, and when you fit the poles togther you can turn the double seat into a baby bouncer. I imported it from NZ, but think they are beginning to sell them here now.

twinkle1 · 12/12/2007 16:29

Nova that would be great. im bidding on the pushchair on ebay at the min as you say no way i cn afford full price
Let me know how much you want for the poles and the postage
They look like a great invention.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 12/12/2007 19:03

Lol NOVA, yes I'm really cross . Fingers crossed she's on the up - seemed really well when I got in from work, though could be to do with dh giving her an 'overdose' of infant paracetamol (2 spoons, a la Calpol, when it's one spoon of the prescribed stuff . Oh well, what will be will be, but I'm hopeful for our meet! .NOVA - meant to say I really enjoyed your moving house story ; phew, what an 'adventure' - I felt your annoyance with the delivery, my pet hate!
Right, have to deal with Christmas card writing with dds - takes ages with class list! Glad things seem to be ok LONDONER - AS Stephanie says, there's always a way!

novadandypowder · 12/12/2007 20:54

Don't want anything for the lazy ted twinkle, happy just to send it out. I got it from a NZ website that ships worldwide, you can get accessories soooo much cheaper (but don't get the buggy from there as you'll get stung for duty). I also have two buggy bunnies that you can have if you want, I personally found them about as useful as a chocolate tea pot, but you may have more success?? I probably won't send them until after christmas if that's ok, I'm sure you're not in a rush!!

ChaCha · 12/12/2007 21:31

Evening all,

Diege - Hope DD is not too poorly and that you are able to stick to the day's plans.

Nova - Good to read your news, you've been busy! Had a look at Lazy Ted out of curiousity - very clever idea!
I now need to find out if i can get a buggy board for our Power Twin. Early days yet i think but still...

Londoner - Hope all is ok.

twinkle1 · 12/12/2007 21:32

Thank you soo much Nova I have to ask what is a buggy bunnies??? sounds slightly kinky but im sure that must be my warpped pregnancy brain. Also lost all ability to spell !!!! very bad when DS1 can do better than me,mind you he can beat me in swimming now he can manage 1 length freestyle in 21secs!!!!! not bad for an 8 yr old.
Right must go chickens have escaped and need to be put back to bed GGRrrr. For those of you that have seen chicken run this is like my two girls, fat feathered and no brain!!!
But if i leave them out all night they will be ready frozen!!! as its -5 out there, haha
right chicken hunting, will coherce them with left over pasta
Twinkle

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 13/12/2007 07:28

Look like I'm going to have to miss the meet-up TWINKLE . Libby is much better 'in herself' but has a hacking cough that is causing her a lot of discomfort. dh says hv said to keep her off for a few days too as her chest didn't sound great. Just typical - but then I feel sadder for myself than her, which is very bad-mummish . We will have to have an after-christmas meet instead . Hoping you're ok, and sorry for letting you down at such short notice .
Right, better attend to the patient, whilst continuing the christmas card school list ordeal!
Diege x

twinkle1 · 13/12/2007 08:21

Dont worry about it Diege
Might go anyway and see if they have any nice maternity clothes Its soooo cold here the frost is so thick it looks like snow!!!!!!!!
right must go and motivate the troops
twinkle

twinkle1 · 13/12/2007 09:19

Diege sorry forgot to say hope she feels better soon
twinkle

novadandypowder · 13/12/2007 09:36

Just to ask if those of you doing the secret santa can post up when your gift arrives, as obviously we can't let you know when we've posted them!

Twinkle, if you are about to enter the world of Phil & Ted, be prepared for the many many accessories you can get for it. None are really essential, but I can't help myself. A buggy bunny is a seat liner that is fleece on one side and cotton on the other with a little pillow for the head. The only problem with it is that it doesn't have harness holes so just slips down all the time, but if you're handy with a needle and thread you may be able to remedy it.
