Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Enthusia · 04/12/2007 20:07

Hi All

Had 5 mins to myself and thought I'd post, especially as I saw ChaCha's news. Wow, congratulations!!!!!! And then read back and saw Twinkle's another Wow and congratulations. Sending lots of soothing thoughts to your little ones in order for you to get some rest!!!!!

I am still here, and do try and catch up every now and then, unlike you though I really can't seem to organise myself to post very often! Sorry!

Sam is doing well, he is a cheeky chappy and is trying to work is way through every illness by the time he is 5. We are on Pneumonia at the moment as well as a 2nd dose of Impetigo. He is gorgeous though and makes me laugh all the time.

I had a little girl called Olivia (Libby) on 10th April. She too is Gorgeous, a mini-me apparently (not in terms of being gorgeous, temprement!). She too is following in her brother's footsteps and has a very bad ear infection. She was born at home and I had her in my bed. The birth was exactly the same as Sam's except for the lack of pain relief!!!!! It was a great experience though, and the bed survived despite ANY coverings!!!!!!

We are still living in Surrey and now hope to stay put. It has been a really really tough year and only now are things settling down with my DH's job, our house and my parents. We look foward to a new year full of hope and prosperity.

I hope all of you are well, I think of you often and as I always say I will try and make moe of an effort to post. I will make it a new year resolution!!!!!!

Right just in case I don't make it back. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas full of relaxing baths, inspired presents and idyllic children.

Love

Enthusia

Beksmum · 04/12/2007 21:52

Enthusia how lovely to see you post, congratulations on baby Olivia, and wow at having her at home in your own bed. We did ask around if anyone had heard from you, so you weren't forgotten. As you've probably worked out Nova and Chacha both had boys so our merry band is growing all the time. As you're now settled in Surrey perhaps we could meet up in the New year at Godstone Farm or something?

Feety where are you too, we seem to have a lot of awols at the moment - don't make me come looking for you lot - you won't like me on your doorstep dressed as a Christmas Elf

Right off to wrap some presents as just back from PTA meeting where I've been given the job of secretary - eek!

Night all Beks

ChaCha · 05/12/2007 15:29

Enthusia - wonder if you will see any replies but if you're there it's lovely to read your news. A few of us had been asking after you and congratulations on the birth of Libby and hope the little man gets better soon! Impressed with home birth - amazing and well done

Nothing much to say here, went into city centre and it was just sooooo busy everywhere but on a good note I got some presents for DC and that was nice as they were both sleeping while i shopped.

Diege · 05/12/2007 17:54

Hi Enthusia! Good to hear from you and congrats on your baby girl (good name choice ). DDs still talk about the 'lady with the teletubby sticker on her coat, lol .
Good on you for braving the crowds CHACHA - bet you feel very virtuous! at sickness TWINKLE...is it 'bearable' or are you at the 'turn the pages of a book and vomit' stage? I remember talking to the people at Blooming Awful (website) and asking them HOW am I going to get through it..it really is the most horrendous thing, so am really thinking of you (on a lighter note, do you think you'll be up for your usual meatball sub on the 14th??? ; sorry if that made you feel sick! BTW will fully understand if you'd rather pass on our meet-up if you'd rather? Just let me know .
Only 20 days until Christmas!

twinkle1 · 05/12/2007 18:01

Hi Diege,
If i still feel this bad would it be possible to meet at quays instead of manchester center??? That way i can take a bucket in the car but still have a meatball sub
twinkle

Diege · 05/12/2007 19:51

Yes, whatever suits you best - maybe Quays would be more manageable anyway what with the Xmas crowds? (and we could always do Primark in the new year when the sickness eases up a little?

ChaCha · 05/12/2007 21:34

Hi all,

If only you could have seen me Diege, for some reason i couldn't find anything and then panic set in. I left my bank card at home, then i was convinced i'd left my phone on the bus but it was in my bag (couldn't find it) then when we went to coffee shop convinced again that i'd left my purse at counter, was talking to myself 2and getting into a state while settling DC into chairs, looked in bag for a final once over and there it was! Duh

gOTTA GO, both DC are awake beign sick

feetheart · 05/12/2007 21:38

Sorry to be such a stranger-real life seems to have taken over which is MOST inconsiderate!!

Are we too late for the Secret Santa?? Haven't even read any posts but saw that! If we are, no problems.

I'll go and read things now and come back (hopefully tonight!) and talk!

BrownieBells · 05/12/2007 21:53

Erm - OMG and Congratulations Chacha !!!!

I wasthinking the same as Diege, when all this talk of AF - did have a sneaky think!

Enthusia - congratulations on the birth of Olivia, and I truly hope that a healthy household reigns for you soon!

L&S - my mobile number is the same, but agree, we probably need to co-ordinate addresses on yahoo or some other means (really must try and look at this facebook thingy!) so that we can arrange for the sending of the gifts again. Was our limit £5 last year? can't quite remember!

Hoping to put our decs up at the weekend - whilst T is "on holiday" at his Grandparents!! We are out at a party on sat, so arranged for them to have him overnight, they then phoned back and asked if they could have him Friday too - who am I to deprive them!!!???
So I am dragging DH to ToysRUs on Friday night to see what we can get for T and all the other children tha we buy for!

Am starting to get somewhat festive now!

The last night of Brownies was last night - it was really good - they did an entertainment evening for the parents - I think we had over 100 people in the hall!! Some little ones stood and sang on their own, it was really nice - 2 left, and we did 2 enrolments!
At least we get a break till 15th JAn now!!!!!

Right - can't take all of this excitement - Diege, you and I might have a lot of catching up to do next year !

B
xx

feetheart · 05/12/2007 22:28

WOW
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to both Twinkle and ChaCha

I'll join you all in the virtual bump rubbing but I'm with Nova and have used up all my broodiness. I even held a friend's 1 day old baby on Monday and didn't feel the slightest twinge. I did have tears in my eyes when A held her though, he was SO gentle and SO fascinated by her. After a while she cried so I took her and put her up to my shoulder to do the patting thing, once she was quiet he very softly patted his lap and said 'More'

BEKS - you are more than welcome to turn up on my doorstep, elf costume optional
Well done on the first party, how many more have you got planned now? I will write up the games I promise, feel very guilty for not doing so yet

Need to get some sleep but I will try not to be such a stranger.
Love to everyone not mentioned

Diege · 06/12/2007 06:46

LOL BROWNIE, yes, I thought that too! Pressures on us now . Will start popping pregnacare end of winter, and start 'trying' (I feel tired even typing the word)May/June-ish I think. How about you? [nosy emoticon].
LOL at shopping trip CHACHA - and now dcs sickness!!! aRHH, hope it's short-lived! We've just got over sickness in 2 out of 3 of dds, so (as is the normal order of things) I've woken up with stinking cold this morning, but hey nothing compares to rinsing out lumpy sheets so I'm grateful. Hi FH!!! Good to hear from you - lovely story about friend's baby - awww, not even a hint of broodiness then?? Come on now...don't let the team down .
Oh a question that some of you might be able to answer. I was teaching a class of social work students yesterday about Social Exclusion Task Force/Education action zones etc, and mentioned Sure Start. I know it's targetted at poorer, less privileged communities, but can anyone (technically attend? Someone asked in class, and while I don't think you have to show evidence of address etc, I wasn't sure. V. boring I know, but thought if anyone would know it would be on mumsnet!
Right, major coffee fix needed...been up for an hour and am flagging already!

feetheart · 06/12/2007 14:01

Diege - sod the team My baby days are OVER and there isn't a hint of regret. I loved it at the time but two is definitely our limit. Besides you forget that I'm the old f*rt on this thread, if I had another one I'd go straight from breast-feeding to menopause

ChaCha · 06/12/2007 15:22

Hello all,

FH - How lovely to see you post!! And story of A with newborn made me smile...how adorable.

BB - Also good to see you post. Hope all is well, a weekend without DC sounds Divine!

Diege - Hope cold doesn't develop into anything more, no doubt from DDs. My two have colds and after drinking their milk last night both were sick everywere and DS2 had a poorly tummy all night having to sleep upright on my chest which wasn't very comfortable as i had to keep visiting the loo and felt claustrophobic. Anyway..both better now and just seem to have runny noses. Have the lumpy sheet wash to do at some point [puke emoticon]

Love to all. Trying to cajole Z to have a nap x

ChaCha · 06/12/2007 15:23

Sorry can i just add that DS2 took his first steps last night I was very excited!!

twinkle1 · 06/12/2007 17:34

Hello . Hi TWINKLE - are you ok? Re: phil and teds, yes agree they look cool although I do wonder what it's like for the one underneath iyswim!! Have started wrapping dds presents, as remember how awful the christmas eve panic was last year - no doubt I am just spreading it all out and will be just as flustered looking round the house for AA batteries at midnight . L has an awful cough and has gone on hungerstrike, so is up for an early sleep. Looking forward to an early night and some rest after a 5am start . Ho ho ho

twinkle1 · 07/12/2007 13:09

Londoner · 07/12/2007 17:54

Hi guys, it's really lovely to read everyones' news. Diege, big congrats on the publication! Wow! Am really glad to see you're proud of yourself, you really should be. Hope your household rids itself of sickness soon and little L is okay. Poor you.
Twinkle, oh no about all the sickness, I hope you get through it soon.
ChaCha, so felt for you on reading your posts recently, you're doing great, what a woman and I really hope the little poorly ones feel better very soon.
Enthusia, congratulations on the birth of Olivia, I really enjoyed reading your post.
Beks, don't know if I said but WoW how amazing you managed to get through your 1st magic party and I'll bet with flying colours!
BB, GG, HI to you too! Wel done on the decorating by the way BB and lol about the poo in hand, a poo in the hand is worth 2 in the potty or something...
Nova, hope you're okay it sounds like you have had a helluva time recently I hope you and yours are well out of the woods with illnesses etc and that you are absent because you're enjoying fitting out your lovely new holiday home.
Absolute mayhem here - I should NOT be posting on MN, children to get to Christmas parties and various clubs and I've offered to help with props for the shcool play and make dd1 outfit, which I'll really enjoy but not quite sure how it'll fit in around everything else really but hey life at top speed is never dull is it girls. Everyone is really well, thanks for asking ChaCha. Right must make tea, etc, etc, bye, x.

Londoner · 07/12/2007 17:55

Oo, I heard form Rodeo btw and she sends everyone her love and is really pleased to hear how we're missing her iyswim, it's always nice to be missed. She'll bet back when she gets her connection fixed prob in the new year.

Diege · 07/12/2007 18:28

Hi LONDONER! Good to hear from you! So true about life at top speed etc...I've always said the more you do, the more you're able to do etc Glad RODEO'S ok too .
TWINKLE - just a thought, but (after looking at timetable)could you make a meet-up in Lowry this Thursday? (13th)I have no dds that day as I've got my book launch thingy on in Liverpool later in the day, so could easily make it to Salford first as don't have to be in Liverpool till 4. Let me know what you think anyway .
Picking up a bit now that the end (ie. bedtimes) is in sight!
