Londoner · 27/08/2007 15:06

Hello again,

One son safely back from Reading - phew! Rodeo... you were right about the washing, there was practically steam coming out of that rucksack!

Thanks for son's congats ChaCha and all, those years of hard work to get him out the door on time each morning/doing homework in the evenings feel worth it now.

BBQ for us here this evening, mm can't wait, bye!

ChaCha · 27/08/2007 15:33

Hello Londoner, how was BBQ? We had a v.small one night before last night with the grandparents, we were using a couple of those disposable trays and DH decided he needed to use some sort of airblower to get things going and so we all had BBQ chicken avec dusty black bits - anyway, was nice to sit outdoors with the kids chatting and relaxing. Washing machine on full go then? Have been without dishwasher for months and have one arriving later in week - hurray! [am not really excited or anything

Nova - Were you around for the carnival this year?

Remember me mentioning DS1's not wanting to drink from anything other than bottle? Now he has just gone straight to cartons with straws can anyone suggest a good drink for toddlers please that comes in a carton? Also, what kind of juice do you give your toddlers anyway? I have been watering down that Organic Grove Juice but would like to try something else. And when do you no longer need to dilute..

Nap time is almost over for the boys so will grab a quick coffee.

Does anyone know if Enthusia had her baby? Imagine she must have a while back..and congrats to BearTime... x

ChaCha · 27/08/2007 15:34

thought that post was from yesterday Londoner - enjoy!!!

novadandypowder · 27/08/2007 21:09

Chacha - Enthusia was due in April, but she never popped back on to let us know. I'm guessing she's got her hands full, and I think she was re-locating?

I actually took noo to the carnival parade today. It's the first time I've dared to go near it since living in London! I must say we got there early enough for there to be no crowds, in fact it was quite empty of people. We sat and watched about 45mins of it before noo got a bit fed up, but we did quite enjoy it, and I may be tempted to go again next year.

Have been gardening today, hurrah!

GreedyGecko · 27/08/2007 23:51

congratulations Londoner ds1.

I finally get a day off work, take the boys out (used my Tesco vouchers for Druscillas Park near Brighton), and where do we end up for dinner? Yup, at work! I must love that place!

Brownie - have you seen that season 3 of Prison Break starts on Sept 24th. Yay!

Rodeo · 28/08/2007 14:55

Hello!
We had a BBQ yesterday too with family and friends, was v. nice Jess is turning into a proper show-off, with the type of dancing that ladies might do on tables And singing along to music, current favourite is that new one, think it's Delilah by Plain White Tees? 'Oh it's what you do to me-ee, what you do to meee' Jess - 'MMEEEEEE-EEEE!! MEEEEE-EEEE!' She sounds completely tone-deaf! Is that usual for toddlers? Never had a singing one before!
All your days out sound nice, what's at Druscilla Park GG? And the carnival Nova! Dp bought some of that Reggae Reggae Sauce yesterday for the BBQ - did you see it on Dragon's Den? The man started off selling it at Notting Hill Carnival Was very nice!
Hi Chacha! Having a BBQ is just a good excuse for sitting, having a drink and relaxing While being handed a dusty sausage once in a while.
Jess quaffs juice like it's going out of fashion so I put a bit of water in it to make it last longer! She has whatevers in the fridge - usually run of the mill apple or orange juice. Would Z just drink out of a straw from a cup or beaker?
Right sun's come out again so I',m going to get some washing out, bye! x

GreedyGecko · 28/08/2007 19:31

Hi!

Rodeo, lol @ J being a little show off. Would love to hear her singing! O used to sing to Busted & Eminem! S just loves Girls ALoud, wonder where he gets that from . If he's being a PITB during the day I'll put my GA concert on for him, and he's so well behaved for an hour!

Drinks, like J, S has whatevers in the fridge, usually squash or juice. Sometimes I water down the juice, depends how much is left. He drinks out of pretty much anything, but likes to be like big brother and so often has a bottle with a straw built in IYKWIM.

Rodeo - drusillas park.

Mum & dad have the boys again tonight, so I'm redoing my pink, haven't had a chance to do the purple yet as been working loads, then meeting one of S's friends tomorrow.

BrownieBells · 28/08/2007 20:53

Hey all [waves]

GG - oh yes - cannot wait!!!!! Saw the ad the other day, and he is still as lush as ever! Thank goodness I have sky+ so that I can series link it!

T too drinks very well with a straw, often just use a straw with a normal beaker or mug (but he still drinks from his toddler cup things with the flexistraw built in - he also has a Sigg drinking bottle, like Mummy & Daddy!) 99% of the time he drinks water, but occasionally he gets a bit of lemonade or whatever we have around - if it is juice concentrate, I water it down (he already poos for England! don't need any help on that score thanks )
He is also so close to climbing out of his cot, that I think I will have to convert the cot to a bed within the next fortnight , am no longer going to have a baby on my hands....but he is soo cute - specially when he says Mummy cuddle, and gives me a big cuddle.....bless him!

Hope everyone is well, and that all babes are coming on leaps & bounds...

First day back at work for me today after just over 2 weeks off - gosh it seemed to drag! millions of emails, and I didn't teally feel I'd achieved that much by the time I left this evening...

Diege - am up your way at the weekend (have I said that already? - too much alcohol at the weekend has seriously affected my brain cells!).
Right finally going to put in my order for my new organised Mum - yay - have decided to go for the A5 size (i think!)

Speak later

Diege · 29/08/2007 09:45

Just popping on to say hi to everyone! It's been mad here to say the least (just the usual, nothing exciting!), but will pop back on later when there is a 'lull' and catch up!

Beksmum · 29/08/2007 10:15

Hi ya, just popping on to show I'm still around, dh off this week so making the most of having him around.

Hope everyone is well and all kids are thriving and enjoying the last week of the holidays, speak soon Beks

Rodeo · 30/08/2007 17:22

Hi!

'Just another one popping on' is what I meant to say!

OP posts:
Londoner · 30/08/2007 18:56

Hi guys, same here, things are busy, so just dropping by to catch up.

Have you seen this lol?

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Bye!

feetheart · 30/08/2007 20:49

Can I add myself to the list of those 'popping on'?

Had a LOVELY time in the Isle of Man and MUCH better weather than at home which makes me feel rather smug
T and A stayed up far too late (and sometimes had a lie-in!), ran riot with their cousins and various grandparents, aunts and uncles and generally had a wonderful time.
We were fed everyday by someone else (including my BiL who is currently 2nd chef at one of the posh hotels on the island and does a stunning barbeque ), loafed around watching manic children and enjoyed the sunshine. Bit of a shame to come back really!!

We were there for practice week of the Manx Grand Prix so there were motorbikes everywhere and I think A spotted every single one - he now does a brilliant motorbike impersonation/sign

We've got another week before BIG school starts so trying to make the most of it. Might venture up to the Natural History museum next week though I think both of them might just be happy with the train/tube rides!

Rodeo · 30/08/2007 22:23

Hi Feetheart!
Isle of man sounds lovely As does BILs BBQ! Forgot T is starting Big School too - so special good luck to her too! BTW - 'popping on' means a post of 1 and a half inches or less, yours does not fit in to that catergory, much too much interesting news
Drink with friend was cancelled (by her! Huh!) but probably a good job as we've just finished packing!
Right, now I am popping off, speak in a week - off to find an agreeable weather website! x

OP posts:
GreedyGecko · 31/08/2007 08:44

lol Londoner. That'll be shown on Challenge soon with Takeshis Castle!

You won't see this, but have a good time Rodeo.

Good luck to all the school starters next week.

I'm very excited because Ive just fpund out that there's a Hobbycraft opened up near me, so I'll be off up there later today, and keeping fingers crossed that my worktop will be ready today.

Enjoy the weekend.

novadandypowder · 31/08/2007 15:01

Well, I wasn't going to do it but I got all inspired by a friend who did it on wednesday, so I'm now organising a birthday party for noo. I've booked Gymboree (I am NOT having that many children in my house!!!) and have found a great website that provides party stuff. Just need to think of food, as I have one child that might be coming who is allergic to everything. Am stupidly excited by the whole thing .

Looks like we may have found a house by the sea. DH went down to view some properties yesterday and found one that he thought was worth another look, so we're all off to view it again tomorrow. If all goes to plan we could have it before christmas, hurrah .

Noo has finally got over her fear of floats so we're moving up a class at swimming. It's only taken 8 months of patience stretching... Miniman is already very good, think he may end up being better than noo (am I allowed to say that?).

Any of you londoners interested in clubbing with baby? Baby Loves Disco is starting to do daytime nightclubs for babies on a sunday. They're running at Clapham Grand monthly starting 16th sept. We're going as it looks like fun.

GreedyGecko · 31/08/2007 15:37

Good luck nova witht he birthday party, you're certainly braver than me, saying that I have hired a party bus for ds1s birthday, so we're going to have a huge double decker parked outside our house in our little cul-de-sac! The neighbours will love that I'm sure!

ANd good luck witht he house buying. Hope it all goes quickly & stress-free.

Very of baby nightclubs. I'd love them to have something like that down here.

Diege · 02/09/2007 11:22

Hellooo!!! Sorry I've been a bit distant, it's been my last week at work and have been caught between finishing off at the old and taking books etc over to the new! First day tomorrow, so a tad nervous! Thanks for all your replies about nap times - at the moment L will either have 2 hours solid after lunch, and need to be woken, or won't setttle at all...doesn't make much difference either way to morning waking, so always worth taking her up for a try! GG and NOVA, both your birthday ideas sound great! Think we will avoid anything organised for L for as long as possible, esp as dd2's is a week after L's and no doubt will involve her new school friends. WE have a 'gymboree' play barn type place opening by us soon - has anyone heard of the chain? Ahhh, just noted that this is where you're having yours NOVA...any info appreciated!
Well, a hectic few days ahead with dd2 starting school, and still not got all the uniform etc sorted!!! One of those weeks when I'll feel a lot better having settled me and dd2 into our new 'works'!!
Speak later,
diege

GreedyGecko · 02/09/2007 12:40

Good luck Diege tomorrow. Sure you'll be fine.

ChaCha · 02/09/2007 20:56

Hello ladies, Good to read all your news, everyone seems to be doing really well Congratulations on new home Nova, sounds lovely.

Well, I hit 32 this weekend, DH had totally forgotten my b'day but I had a nice, quiet dinner with friends (all child free) which was just great and DH made up for his forgetfulness today. All is forgiven

I'll be going away for a month or so early October, will be catching up on all your news when i can, at the moment little time for myself at all. Hope Rodeo is having a great time and anyone else who is away.

Love to all. Take care of yourselves and your LO's x

novadandypowder · 03/09/2007 14:04

We're not too far apart in age then Chacha, I'm 32 on 5th Nov. at DH, you obviously weren't getting enough hints in . Still I think a childless evening out with friends is much better than anything my DH could come up with, so you got the better deal!

We have another house . It's this one. We all went down to have a look on saturday, put the offer in when we got home, and it got accepted today - hurrah. It's so lovely, and chain free so we should be sorted in the next month or two. It's only 100yds or so from the sea and noo is really happy there (there were fairies in the garden - lol!).

Hope everyone is well and surviving back to school madness.

Diege · 03/09/2007 19:46

Hello! Happy belated birthday wishes CHACHA - agree with NOVA, baby-free evening is priceless, though I would certainly stock up the forgotten birthday in my 'weapons drawer' for future arguments . Thanks for your good wishes GG - I've had a great day at the new job, and am really pleased I decided to leave my old place. It's far more relaxed, and I'm able to work from home one day a week, so v.happy.
NOVA: love the house! dh thinks it will make a very nice holiday home for us
Well, dh is just putting a morrison's curry in the oven - yum!- to celebrate getting through my first day. Can't believe I have to do it all tomorrow!!!

BrownieBells · 03/09/2007 19:53

Hello..

Nova - congrats on the house purchase ~ it looks divine fairies in the garden, how cool!

Diege, hope 1st day at work went well, am sure it did!

Hope all those building up to first days at school, and new schools are all doing ok.

Well, slight set back with the whole moving T into his bed (part of the cot bed iyswim!?) as a series of events have conspired against me!
Firstly the extra stair gate my parents gave me, doesn't appear to work the way it should at the door of his room (in fact he can more or less pull it off the frame )
Then went to Mothercare world today to purchase the duvet cover for the cot bed quilt ~ to be told by the assistant(after telling her what I was looking for, as seen int heir catologue) oh, we don't stock them, you will have to order them ~ which meant paying a delivery charge! As I explained, not only did it not say that in the catalogue (that they were order only) but if I'd wanted to order them and pay for delivery, then I would have ordered them last week off the interweb! Aagghh

So, am now going off to the M/C website to order them (along with a Ready bed, as T now outgrown the travel cot we have!)

Anyway, hope everyone else is ok and in good spirits? Can't believe Brownies starts next week ~ am far from ready for that one!

GreedyGecko · 03/09/2007 20:07

I have just lost my post by hitting a button on the keyboard. doh!

I think what I was saying was:

Diege - glad new job is good.

Nova - nice house, when you're down there we'll have to get together in bognor or something.

ChaCha - belated birthday wishes, I would definately store that one up for the future!

Have a work night out on Thurs, will be my 1st night out in a few months, but am working that night, so will have some catching up to do with the rest of them by the time I get out! Treated myself to some new clothes, and spent far too much money (but some was work clothes!

Found headlice on O tonight. Perfect timing being the night before school start back, so bombed it down to chemist for some lyclear.

Hope everyone is well.
