We eat loads of spuds, but we dont have any! I'm so determined to use up all those odd bits of junk, and not spend any more except on milk. Frozen croquettes will have to cover the spud element till then.

Dont make me decide! What kind of thing do you want? Whats the weather going to be like? I'm happy to do tube aswell as bus, it that helps, but prob not.

Phoenix · 18/06/2007 21:05

Snap jas. I'm always here too

Dh has gone to Asda on his own, well with a list

The back of our house roof is now fully tiled just need the velux putting in tomorrow. The electrician has been this afternoon and put new plug sockets and light switches in so its starting to take shape. Once the velux is in the plasterer can get started and hopefully tomorrow the joiner will start putting up the stud wall. I'm happy-ish now

Flame for new look site.

Mrm for boys sleeping and well done ds1 for 3 days with no dummy.

mustrunmore · 18/06/2007 21:07

Quick! text your dh and ask him to see if they still have muppet thongs in Asda!! There were none in ours Size 14 please!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/06/2007 21:30

My goodness mrm - you have an odd collection of stuff! I had to look up cassava on wikipedia. Is it nice? What do you do with it? Will need to focus on the list more to come up with some suggestions, but bagels with philly or veg pate is the obvious choice for lunchtimes.

I'm reading at the moment, but not sure that much is sinking in. Feeling a bit brain dead. Can't sit down at all during the day at the moment, as dd pounces for milk. We're getting about 4 tantrums a day at the moment when I refuse her, plus mini tantrums any time she doesn't get her own way about anything. It gets a bit tiring, plus I've been very busy trying to tidy house and cook with limited fresh stuff (waitrose delivering tomorrow) after the weekend away.

Glad you had a great holiday Chloe - no way I could cope with that any more, so I'm definitely an old woman now!

Yay for building stuff pg.
Fingers crossed for baking selling well Jas.
for Joseph dame - I obviously still haven't hinted strongly enough to dh about Sound of Music, as no tickets have been forthcoming, despite in laws saying they will babysit when we go (happy to do a matinee so there's no bedtime worries).

I'll have the roundup flame - not because I don't read the thread, but because I imagine it will make me laugh.

Can see why those jibbitz are very appropriate flame, but in general I'm not a fan of them.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/06/2007 21:33

Oh and can I be for a minute. Dd's Christening dress arrived, and is too small (it doesn't come in a bigger size).
We can't find any caterers who are available to do the food, so I might end up having to cater for 100 people myself .
Basically, Christening plans are not going well.

mustrunmore · 18/06/2007 21:37

Its odd because thats all thats left! You wouldnt say that if it was diluted with all the other stuff thats normal to have! Er, I normally do cassava chips , or bung it in stews/chillis/curries,or saute it then put with cous cous, or make mash (but its a bit stringy).Cant believe you looked it up!!!

I forgot to tell you the worst news; I'm supposed to make a cake for the school fair, to be taken in on Friday. So, cassava cake then?

Welcome the beginning of hell; the tantrums get worse and worse unti they leave home, you know Ds2 has got to the sage of headbanging if he doesnt get his own way, then crying because it hurt!

Obv I want the round up, thought it went without saying...

mustrunmore · 18/06/2007 21:38

There must be caterers somewhere???

Frizbe · 18/06/2007 21:50

ah yes CSWS the joys of tantrums, ignore and walk away, very easy to do when in public eh mind you dd1 has about grown out of them now, she just seemed to stop at about 3ish, for the throwing self at floor ones anyway, or maybe its because if she's on the floor she's fair game for dd2

Flame why did I read that as buy a guinea pig, I was thinking new look? what ya gona do wear in your hair or summat??

MRM fruit strips sound interesting in a nibbly fashion, where you get em from??
how's the bland food gone? dd2 had toast, 1 x jammie dodger (fairly bland) and 1 x rice cake for tea, poor mite started saying 'ungy', when I was putting her to bed, I had to say, no more food till tomorrow hon There's now't like starvation to get em talking

Dame, Joseph

Where's Macca today n Kel??

Jas how'd the cakes go?

Chloe you sound like you had a fab time oh how I like a good 16hr session!! 'owt tasty on the stag do then? or were you just humouring them for the free booze??

Phoenix, yay for the room coming together, we require full photo evidence, before, during and after you know

Frizbe · 18/06/2007 21:52

CSWS at no caterers.....can't believe none available? I shall ask my friend who got married not far from where you are if the catering co that did her wedding do out of house as well.

for the dress as well, can you get someone to alter it??

mustrunmore · 18/06/2007 21:58

Tescos, health food shops etc.

Ds1 also pulled the hungry stunt in bed, because he didnt want to go without a dummy. He's still got a really gurgly tummy, mind you. Bland? well, today he had ready brek and rice cakes for brekkie, warm milk and buttered bread for lunch, tuna butties for tea at soft play (not alot of options!) Then we went to Tescos, and he had a kiwi and pear smoothie, half my oj, a croissant, and half a hot x bun on the bus

mustrunmore · 18/06/2007 22:01

here, but there are other makes i like better

Frizbe · 18/06/2007 22:20

I shall look out for those!

Jas · 18/06/2007 22:25

mrm forecast up to Saturday is miserable, so I'm guessing it won't get better on Sunday, which means I suggest something inside and free/cheap. Is that soft play place we went to with Amiable a bad idea? Or Ikea again?

csws Can you just send the dress back and start again? Put it to the mn style people and find something in an actual shop you can go out and get next week.
No idea about caterers. What kind of food were you planning on? Is it doable yourself?
(I can make cakes for you)

I should be able to send it back Jas, even though their receipt says they will do refund or exchange only, the distance selling regs apparently mean that they have to refund if I send it back within 7 days, which I will (must do it tomorrow). Just couldn't find anything else as nice. Not sure if the style people will be interested in the task, but will put it to them tomorrow if I have more time/concentration.

Re what food. To give you an idea, from one of the caterers we had picked from their website suggestions: Chicken Supreme, Moroccan casserole with (chilli) dumplings, Leek & Asparagus crumble, Rice, Potatoes, Roasted baby carrots and petit pois. That's for the adults, and I'm very seriously considering cooking the kids stuff myself, and just doing a load of pasta with Ikea meatballs and veg/tomato sauce. Needs to be food that people can eat standing holding plate in one hand and fork in the other.

Supposed to be getting cake made by some woman that mil has had recommended to her, but got no answer when I called her earlier, so need to call back. Worst case I can always order from M&S or Waitrose as long as I give a week or more notice.
Thank you for the baking offer .

damewashalot · 19/06/2007 07:04

Obviously Flame I need the round up as can't keep track of late
I like you lot, only one of my RL friends has shown the slightest interest in my very exciting Joseph news but at least she got really excited and a little but other people have just gone "oh that's nice" in an uninterested way but it's exciting, we don't often do stuff like that.
Must go feed children or something.

Flamesparrow · 19/06/2007 07:50

for caterer issues.

Someone kick start me... my eyes are all hayfevery and I can't get going properly.

DS's lip looks sore today - bigger than yesterday, tis most likely very bruised, and he's crying really easily

damewashalot · 19/06/2007 08:00

for hurty lip

Really must try and work out what's happening with people

Flamesparrow · 19/06/2007 08:17

Will work on the round up later today/this evening

damewashalot · 19/06/2007 08:21

If I sneeze at you flame will it work as well as a kick? pollen must be high today can't stop sneezing.

mustrunmore · 19/06/2007 08:57

I'd be happy with soft play Jas, as your dd's will keep ds1 happy, and we just traipse round after the babies having a chat Isnt it too far for you to come though?

Flame, I'll show yo as much sympathy as I doi for dh, and tell you hayfever is all in the mind

Chloe55 · 19/06/2007 09:17

Dame - presumably your Joseph news is that you are off to see it? When are you going? DH has booked for us to go for our anniversary in July, sooooooo excited.

Frizbe - most of the stags were coppers, bent ones at that - We only really had much to do with a couple of them (who we bumped into a few times whilst there aswell) they were both married, none of us were at all interested in much more than a good laugh. They were lovely guys, very generous and not so they could get in our knickers either so that was good.

What is it with men and drama when they are poorly. I kinda feel a bit mean but dh has had a sore throat for about 2 weeks now which is apparantly really bad (even though he hasn't bothered to go to the doc), he is off to glastonbury tomorrow so I suggested that he should maybe take the day off work today if he is really that poorly and get himself to the doc before he goes away. He mumbled that he couldn't because work is too busy and that he would have to soldier on - saying all this with a face like someone has just shot him and doing rediculously exaggerated swallowing. I told him to wipe that stupid pained look off his face because if he was that bad he wouldn't be able to go to work I'm sorry but it just pisses me off, when I'm poorly I just get on with it because I have to (I just moan to you guys )

On top of that we have bugger all food, I have ONE nappy left and dh hasn't left me the credit card and we have no money in our bank account. God knows what I am gonna do today????

Frizbe · 19/06/2007 09:22

Praying its nice for the weekend

Flame how's ds's lip this am then? dd1 is a lip biter

CSWS have sent you a possible caterer??? you never know?

dd2 is lots better here so much so that she insisted on getting up with dh at 5am this caused a row, as dh ignored her, yelling for him then she woke dd1 up at 5.30, who got into bed with me and then promptly forgot to go to the loo and wet dh's side of the bed no actually make that exploding mummy still I'm over it now, I'm all sorted and calm again, its amazing what a good rant at your 3 year old can do....... must make effort not to be so grumpy in the mornings.

Chloe55 · 19/06/2007 09:25

I seem to have been in a bad mood for weeks now - particularly in the mornings, mainly just at dh though. I need to try and control my temper.
