Morning,

Another night with three in the bed here. Abbey is really hard work during the night here. She is great during the day, goes to sleep and stays asleep UNTIL I get into bed, then the fun starts. She is awake hourly after that. I am very tired, so I keep just putting her in our bed cos I know she will sleep, which means I get some sleep. Very silly I know.

I was also kept awake last night by the sound of a house alarm, which I wasn't very happy about. When I got up this morning, all the electricity in our area had gone down and the house alarm that had been pissing me off all night was in fact our house alarm. DOH!

KZ- also in the same boat as you re the Ebay stuff. I have piles of things to sell, but never seem to find the time.

Re- the name badges. I am hoping to be able to recognise everyone from either photos of you or from the babies. Hope I get them right.

Bloss- that's exactly why I don't want to move. I bought this house when I was 20 so the mortgage is small and I don't want us to be in a position where we are struggling by paying out a fortune every month for the mortgage. Also, this house could (if DP ever manages to finish the jobs he's started), be extended quite easily.

Twinkle-also think you should apply.

xx

Ceebee74 · 15/06/2007 12:06

LOL at the name badge, KZ - better get my thinking cap on about mine

Jeanie - , Josh also comes into our bed occasionally too. Tbh, he wakes up very infrequently but on the nights he does, and he won't settle instantly by popping a dummy in, the choice is to either sit in his room on the floor stroking his head for over 30 minutes waiting for him to go back to sleep - or take him into our bed and he falls asleep within minutes (and then I move him back into his cot)!! I know it is deemed 'wrong' by the experts but I know which I prefer and it is being cosy in my own bed snuggled up to my little man!!

agalch · 15/06/2007 17:53

Jeanie

I won't whisper cos i am sure everyone knows i co-sleep lol.Eilidh is put down for naps and for the night in my bed.Don't worry about it!! Thats why i co-sleep,if i didn't get any sleep i would be a total nightmare.

Spoke to my mum and DB has left gf No2 and DSS and his own DS and moved back in with mummy.Jesus he has already left gf No1 and their 4 DC.Lets hope he doesn't move onto gf No3 and breed some more eh?

My mum of course is over the moon that her boy is home again. She was all excited at making his dinner etc.Even said she will need to redecorate spare room again for him.

Eilidh is crawling proper now and into everything so really having to kiddy proof now lol.Still no teeth yet!!
KZ,still haven't done the piccy thingy.Sorry will have to get ds1 or dh to help me.

Must go and get girls bath stuff ready for their daddy.I am going out for a chinese tonight for my friends 40th.I am not driving so will have a drink. Not sure what to have tho.I love wine but prob too calorific for my diet on top of the mountains of food i am hoping to consume. I do like a JD and coke so maybe that?? Hmmm will look behind the bar for inspiration when i get there.

Have a good night all xx

TheGoddessBlossom · 15/06/2007 19:37

dark rum diet coke Algach. Or gin and slimline? have a great time, sod the diet, ure gorge!

Ceebee74 · 15/06/2007 19:43

Agalch - any spirit with slimline or diet coke is good - cocktails are BAD!

Anyone noticed that Impy has gone quiet...wonder why that would be.....

TheGoddessBlossom · 15/06/2007 20:54

yeah but cocktails rock.

Cousin has said that her Dh's parents are in town te week of the 14th August and she may have to put them up which will put the kibosh on me staying after the meet up. Will keep you informed.

TheGoddessBlossom · 15/06/2007 20:55

KZ - do you by any chance read Chili "Peter Rabbit"? I read it to Harry almost every night, he adores it, and your comment "I implore you to exert yourself" rang a bell.....

TheGoddessBlossom · 15/06/2007 21:03

oh forgot to tell you...

....had lunch at a pub today with a friend and her boys. It has a great garden with really lovely wooden climbing frames, wooden boat etc....H was pegging it about in his new sandals, and just as I spotted it and went to say "Harry, mind out for that big pile of.....!!!!!" he ran straight through an enormous mound of dog shit. In sandals. New sandals. I was gutted. Stripped him of them, wiped his feet as best I could, took his shoes into the loos and tried to wash them, when the tap seemed to have only one setting of VERY FAST AND HARD so the water splashed shit everywhere so then had to clean that up....then had to scrub my fingers till they were raw as then had to finger feed my children. God it was horrendous and then the heavens opened....I recovered, and complained to the pub, and all was fine, but there is something so upsetting about such filth on your kids isn't there?

Bloss - ugggh, poor you. Isn't it amazing things you do as a mum that you would have really flinched at before?

Where is everyone - it is so quiet? Maybe Lysette is right and you have all started a new thread without us

jacobandlysette · 16/06/2007 21:55

naaaah ceebee the main culprits are here and we know where impy is

jacob has a terrible head cold - it started i think the night that he wouldn't sleep properly, and i think he is now reacting to the paracetomol i have been giving him in the evenings before bed (for his teeth) - basically he's really snotty during the day and he's thrown up last night and tonight - tonight's was a good 45 mins after end of dinner, which was v big so we wondered if we had overfed. i don't think so though as it was so long after and he had bathed and wriggled around a lot. but i had not long given him the medised and put him down when he started crying, so i picked him up after a few mins and gave him a cuddle and he just vomited all over me - three times it kept coming! he calmed down pretty quickly and was ok but what do you all think? could it be that? he doesn't throw up on baby ibuprofen.

but apart from that he's now pulling himself up on his own and we had to move his cot down to the lower level this evening and he's pretty close to cruising!

o'h and I have a really bad cold too, early night for me tonight methinks

Hi girls-I'm back!

Well, we had a hectic, wet but fun time. Have overeaten and overspent but hey, twas good. Took 7 hours to get there as we kept stopping for wee stops and Sophie did an explosion so had to strip her half way-poo was everywhere. After that she was struggling to go thank the Lord but it was making her cry Emma lost her fave elephant so we had to go back to Longleat on Friday before we came home. Sadly we couldn't find him in the shop where she left him but we got a free Safari trip out of it while we looked for him so saw the big animals twice. Ended up staying all day again so got home at midnight. We are all quite tired now.

I notice there is no sign of kbaby. Are you OK hun? We are here if you want to chat.

Will try and catch up tomorrow as my bed is calling.

Love to all

xxx

prettymum · 16/06/2007 22:37

hey everyone

hc- glad you had a brilliant time!! emma and sophie must have loved seeing the animals!!

agalch- your db is a proper mummys boy!! no wonder he keeps running back to her, she doesnt tell him to be a man and take on his responsibilities!!

junior is really making a proper effort to stand unaided and he looks so proud of himself eachtime!! cant wait to see him take his first steps!!

meetup, i dont think i will make it, its too far out to travel and dp not very happy at the idea of meeting people from net!! he doesnt know i put pics of dc up for you all to see either!! but i probably could make a north london meetup this time

SleepIsForTheWeak · 17/06/2007 08:07

Hi all,

Interview was good, have a 2nd interview on Wednesday.

Hope you're feeling better today Jacob

Zack's walking is going great guns, love him love him!
And he said dada for the first time this week- so cute and brought tears to daddy's eyes.

Zack is being super clingy and throwing lots of tantrums, I'm not sure if he is feeling unwell or if he's being a little so and so

Zack is still in bed whilst I've been up since 6, he didn't go to bed until 9 and was awake for and hour at 2 then woke again at 6 with a dirty nappy

Off to the aquarium today so best go and get showered.
Hope you all have a lovely day

PavlovtheCat · 17/06/2007 08:53

Morning all. Apologies for long time no contact. Had a few things going on here.

Glad to hear that babies are making great progress, in leaps and bounds in appears!

DD took her first step, day before yesterday. Did not mean to, just did it . This is it ladies!

sohappyicouldcry · 17/06/2007 12:35

Hi again, Sorry it's been quite a few days now since I last got on here.....

My darling darling DH treated me to an early birthday pressie on Friday I was working all day (6.30am-6.30pm) but got back onto base at about 10 to 6 to have my break. When I got back, DH was sat there waiting for me. He said he was "taking me out", to which I replied that I was on my meal and didn't finish while half 6. He said he'd "sorted it" and one of the other lads was there to take over on my vehicle for me !!!! Turned out he was taking me to the George Michael concert at the city stadium .... Got to the carpark and who turned up, but my sister and her bf !!!!! It was an absolutely BRILLIANT night . Can't believe dh was so scheming to be able to plan it all with my manager's permission and organise someone to cover me etc etc etc... I was the only person not to know !! He'd even taken Alesx to my mum's to stop overnight ! I'd only seen her on Thursday and she didn't let slip at all .

Anyway, just about sorting the house out now, sister and her other half stopped all weekend, so lots of stuff to load into the dishwasher !

Glad to hear all the babies are progresing well. Can't believe some are taking steps . Really brings it home to you that they aren't "babies" any more .

Better go, DD "creating" in her playpen, obviously not enough toys in there to keep her occupied

Have a great Father's day !!!

ImpyChica · 17/06/2007 18:47

Hello darlings! Yes I've been busy but not in the romantic sense - too knackered to do much "catching-up" in that way but it is wonderful to have DP back - it was the longest three weeks of my life!. He couldn't believe how much Ry had changed in those weeks - and Ryan was a bit unsure of him initially....("who is this bloke taking mummy's attention away from me?")... bless!

Anyway, back to it. Annie you are hilarious! I PMSL with the whole stagbeetle-beastie thing. Too funny! Great news about your sister!!

Roshi sounds adorable KZ. Is Chili really good with her, then? No jealousy?

Poor you HC - hope Sophie's better and Emma gets through this phase soon.... Well done on weight loss! Glad you had a good trip with the girls.

Cripes Usandnosleep - I thought you were gonna have to change your name and then read your subsequent posts - doh! Zack sounds like he's coming on a storm. Sorry to hear about your mum.

We've been having a few 7pm-7am nights (and yesterday he fed at 7am then went down again till 9.30 - sorry Bloss..!) I've been sending DP in with a cup of water if he wakes during the night.... I think the sleeping thing is genetic - DP and I are v lazy and love long lie-ins and Ry's obviously inherited that. I've a friend who's an early bird and her DH is a lie-in kinda guy and they've got an early-bird son and a lie-in daughter..... (Are you and DH early birds, Bloss?)

Belated Happy Birthday Numpty! Congrats on puppies.

And Happy Birthday to you SoHappy - what a darling your DH is! Sounds like a great night!

Bloss LOL at the "supportive feeding bra". We don't have a dishwasher but there's only three of us at least.... hope you get it sorted soon. Love mental image of you doing forward roll - can't remember Patrick Swayke doing that....! (Nobody puts Baby in the corner.... I carried a water melon?!) Scary about the gas hob....

Sorry about the nursery nightmare Algach. That's shit. Sorry about the stuff with your brother. It's hard to get over those deep-planted sibling rivalry issues.... I'm terrified about having more kids cos I don't want them to fall out with each other like me and my brother did or my dad and his sister did .... feels like we're stuck in this never-ending cycle.

Don't feel sorry for exterminating ants KZ!!! I'm all for nuking the beasties!! (Yes, I'm v horrible. Not looking forward to the "I want a puppy mummy" stage....!) I've got that Aveda hand cream too - always gives me a giggle!

So sorry about your mum Lysette. We're going through a similar thing with FIL - he's having tests to see if he has Parkinsons or epilepsy... . It's so sad when you see your parents or in-laws age and get ill. Maybe your mum's diagnosis will bring you closer together? There are lots of drugs to help Parkinsons now. Finger's crossed for you all. And hope Jacob gets better soon, poor lamb.

Loving the actress-who-would-play-you question!! One nice person likened me to Jennifer Garner once.... I've also had Amanda Holden.... (so basically someone with a big slap head and little piggy brown eyes.....)

Twinkle - go for it! Sounds like you're convincing yourself anyway - a new challenge, new area would be great - you say yourself you want to move there.... V exciting!

Sounds like Junior is ready for the off, Pretty! Are you ready???!!! Ryan's cruising around furniture but think it's going to be a while till he's walking.

Happy Father's Day to all the fellaz! Impy x

TheGoddessBlossom · 17/06/2007 19:06

Hi Impy, glad Dh is back! LOL at image of patrick Swayze doing a forward roll, the last dance scene might not have had such an impact if they'd done that instead of the lift! Dancing to Harry equals legging it around manically, stopping every now and again to go on hadns and knees and throw legs in the air, and then a few swift forward rolls thrown in before running around madly again! Bless.... Seem to remember that boys' dancing doesn't get much better than that all through school... Must teach him some of my Justin Timberlake moves, that'll net him the ladeez...

KZ - annoyance!! Men, they never learn.

DH has had a very nice day as I let him have a lie in, (I got one yesterday, it was sooooo nice - Impy, I am not an early bird, at all, DH is though) and then pretty much left him to it and took the boys out and about. I didn't mind though as DH did Tescos for me, baked some banana bread and then cooked a full roast beef tea for us all when we got back. Drooooool. Have put on 4 pounds last week, am eating for England at the moment, must be better this week, yawn.

Off to see my friends' new baby tomorrow, in London, I expect it will make me feel really broody....

Toby is pulling himself to standing on EVERYTHING now, and can take a few steps if you hold his hands, so cute!!

Bloss

Beadmum · 17/06/2007 21:54

hi everyone

havent been on for ages but all is well here. charlotte is finally crawling forwards not with too much speed yet but sure it wont be long, she is also pulling herself up on everything.

hv was out last week, dont know why she bothered, asked her to bring scales to weigh dd, she didnt, told her how well dd was doing with finger foods, she marked on chart we are to 'introduce' finger foods soon. Also when she was here dd was v.tired so i put her through to her cot for her nap, hv told me i was reading her signs very well, WTF? well she is 11 months now and I am her mum, god SO patronising!! ok rant over
