Fuck me Annie. Or should that be Feck me? beetle basher, I'm going to call the police on you now. Be even funnier if Joey had eaten it.......

Pretty mum and KZ etc thanks for the good vibes. Pretty, i would deffo do CC on Toby to get him to break this early waking habit...if he was crying!! But he ain't! He's just AWAKE GODAMMIT!!!!

Touch wood a million times, I think H has gone off for his day sleep without the aid of a car journey..........seems all quiet up there anyway.....

How old is Joey Annie?

Bloss

xx

PS have just made a Shepherds Pie that smells rather lovely! All Shepherds Pi-ey! [proud emoticon]

jacobandlysette · 11/06/2007 13:59

bloss send some of it our way purleeeeaaaaaase! leftover curry from the weekend here - although i did cook it so it's not too bad!

annie - going to pin him down tonight for a last ditch attempt this month accpording to my counting (which is none too hot given last months mis count ) i should have ov'd yesterday so tonight will be the last day of this month! then yes, it'll be all over bar the waiting.....

poor stag beetle! do they have nests or anything like that, or do they live o ntheir own - iykwim! will you have to search to see if there are any more????

OP posts:
AnnieAlcoholLeft · 11/06/2007 14:48

Bloss, feck me is right!! I haven't sworn in 2 years (Joey is 2!! and nearly 2 months) so I made up for it that evening. don't think the police would be bothered, but maybe the Save the Stag Beetle brigade will be after us!!! (Shepherd's Pie smells good from here!! MMMmm)

Lysette, have fun now tonight!!
Don't know about nests, but apparently (according to my extensive research) the pupae live in rotting wood for about five years, then they emerge as adults, mate, lay eggs and die all in the space of a few months, May-August.
We saw another one flying around last night while DH was watering the new lawn. I reckon it might be cos of all the wood we have in the garden now, railways sleepers and decking. Must have come in with all that.

Breaking news from Ireland, my expecting sis has gone into hospital with some bleeding. Suspected early labour (about two weeks to go I think)... Awaiting further texts...

(PS Sorry bout all the beetle talk for those of you that are a bit on the squeamy side!!)

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 11/06/2007 15:05

this is the bastard

jacobandlysette · 11/06/2007 15:09

annie i agree very scary looking

isn't there some society for the protection of stage beetles? they might come and take them away if you contact them?

OP posts:
AnnieAlcoholLeft · 11/06/2007 15:28

They might come and take them away, dead in a tin, and then fine us for killing them!!!
There is a website where you can fill in if you've seen one, and they want you to send them the dead bodies. I've filled in the form, but I ain't posting no beetles!!

YUCK!!!!!

jacobandlysette · 11/06/2007 15:32

stag beetles really should preview.

you should def send it in, although how hard did you hit the thing? is it obvious you killed it or could it have been through natural causes

OP posts:
AnnieAlcoholLeft · 11/06/2007 15:36

The whacking didn't hurt it much, it was still wriggling around in the tin (you know when beetles are on their backs, and all they can do is wave their legs around!!), but it might have run out of oxygen now...

I lied on the form, I said it is now back in the garden. I didn't mention it was still in the tin...

hmm I hope Lysette isn't a member of the Save the Stag Beetle Society...

jacobandlysette · 11/06/2007 15:45

Hi - will catch up with all your messages later but just wanted to share what Josh has done.

Today he stood by himself without holding on for a few seconds - before toppling over (fortunately I was there to catch him)

Plus he has learnt the actions to Wind the Bobbin up at nursery - and it is so cute. We play it for him at home and he claps, points and puts his hands on his knee in all the right places - apparently he just picked this up from nursery rhyme time - the staff jut noticed him doing it one day. Also screams in the right place for Row Row Row Your Boat.

jacobandlysette · 11/06/2007 20:10

aaaaaaaaw ceebee that's great!

KZ - here is a fish pie recipe that I have done - I am not a big fan of fish at all but I managed to eat it and Josh seems to like it too.

Count me in for the 14th August

We don't have a video camera unfortunately so can't get any footage of Josh.

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 11/06/2007 21:20

Hi Ladies

Annie-excellent news for your sis.

Will catch up later but Sophie has started eating a bit of food and now has liquid diorrhea-it is dreadful and requires a bath and change of clothes every time. Tonight her nappy was 2 inches deep with pooey liquid. Have not had this before, not even with Emma. My mum has had this bug and has now recovered. Thing is I have booked us Wed & Thurs night in a Travelodge near Longleat so we can go there on Thurs. It will be our first hols since 2002 and the first time we have taken Em and Sophie away. So need to get away but I'm worried about Sophie-do you think I need to ring the Dr tomorrow or shall I let it pass on it's own?

Em has been the child from hell and I videoed it on my mobile to show the HV when she calls next. Infact-Em has been like this on Sat, Sun and today.

Ho hum. On a better note I lost 1.5 lb at WW so total 27 lb. Just 1 st to go. And I am loving my little job.

Ooh Annie take it that?s not your actual beetle (he?s looking surprisingly healthy if so ) Big fecker indeed though! And BIG congrats on being an auntie!!

Lysettes - fingers crossed for you keep those legs crossed (after, not before)

Bloss - shepherd?s pie you goddess, one of my faves! Deffo worth trying later bedtime I reckon. Emma goes down about 8pm and doesn?t (usually) wake till 7-8ish - (apart from this week, when she has been a nightmare, up and down like a whore?s drawers (wasn?t that one of your expressions ) till about 10pm most nights)

Ceebee - bless Josh, how clever! Don?t know that song, will have to start learning some nursery rhymes Re vid camera, we don?t have one either but I bought a £100 ?normal? digital camera at Christmas that takes mini moves, with sound as well, the quality seems okay. It?s a Canon Power Shot I think.

Kayzed - great news about Roshi?s tongue, and that she?s eating with no problems (touching wood for you too ). Know what you mean about cheeky, they just don?t believe ?no? sometimes do they?

14 Aug fine for me.

Emma has a new trick, she claps her hands when you say ?yaaaay?, very sweet. She pulled herself up to both knees today as well (previously has been a yogi-ish pose with one leg bent right underneath her )

HC - worth a trip to the docs to see what they say - hope it all settles down soon . I?ve had weird cramping this month - very strongly on and off about a week before being due for af.

Prettymum - Cheers !! - you queen of bargains you Am going to check out the photo site, got some family birthdays coming up.

Night girls xxx

FirstAtForty · 11/06/2007 22:20

HC - congrats on the weight loss, well done, that's amazing

Sounds like it may be a good idea to ring the doc re Sophie too, it's been a few days now hasn't it? Hope she's right as rain again for your trip away. xxx

Twinklemegan · 12/06/2007 00:00

Hi KZ. jeff at tiscali dot co dot uk (I've posted my DH's as my name is too unusual and I'm paranoid someone from rl could recognise me )

sohappyicouldcry · 12/06/2007 01:13

Can't believe what time it is !!! I actually started reading this at about 10.30pm and have onlyjts got to the top .

Hope everyone is okay. Hope those migraines have gone, and the spots, and the diarrhoea, and hope the AF has come for those who want it, and that it hasn't for those who done't .

Well I missed ALL of the lovely weather over the wkend due to me working nights, and now I'm off for 3 days and DH is on nights instead .... not much point in me doing a test (not that we're ttc'ing anyway).

Ruight, really must go to bed now as typing is atrocious

Night night xx
p.s. Just realised I haven't mentioned DD at all . She is WONDERFUL and easily the best baby in the world (feel free to argue that with me)

usandnosleep · 12/06/2007 07:08

Morning all

Guess what??!!!!!!!!............................

Zack slept through from 9pm til 6am. The first time he has slept through, yay yay yay!
He probably won't do it again now until he is 2

Zack is wonderful, really enjoying his new tricks! Pointing, clapping, hiding behind hands and his record is 10 steps (bribed with a Rich Tea). No stopping him now

I'm fine too although I'm a bit snowed under with work. I have to do it in the evenings and the Zackster doesn't go down until 8.30-9.30 yawn
The acting manager is leaving too so my work load is only going to increase.
I'd really enjoy it if I had a little more time so I'm going to hang in there.

Zack weighed 17lbs 7ozs yesterday and he is 11 months in 4 days.

Bought his party invitations yesterday This year has whipped past

HC- I would take Sophie to the docs just to be on the safe side. I really hope you're able to get away < fingers crossed >

Annie- I remember taking a stag beetle in to school to show my class when I was about 8! We measured it and it was 7" long- YUCK!

Met a new mum at Monkey Music and her son turns one at the beginning of Aug and her baby is due July 1st
The poor woman was terrified. Great if planned but she was so nervous, I wanted to hug her.

Zack will wake again any minute so I'm off to make a cuppa x

usandnosleep · 12/06/2007 07:10

Why can I never get the * and the ^ things right??
