Sophie is really sick with diahorrea (sp) so I keep putting her back to bed. Don't know what else to do.

DH's B'Day tomorrow so looks like we will be staying at home. Going to attempt stew and dumplings.

Meant to say-put 4 adverts in our local Telegraph online and out of the 4 of them they have only put 1 in correctly. One I put is brand new and they have put as new and as for the other 2 items, well, they haven't even bothered putting them in. No wonder the phone isn't ringing.

Have a good weekend all.

P.S. Just heard that Lesley has walked out of the BB house.

Ceebee74 · 09/06/2007 14:12

HC - really hope Sophie feels better soon. Sleep is probably the best thing for her and isn't changing diaorrhea nappies just the worst thing?

Wallace - that is exactly the toddle truck we have asked MIL to buy but I still feel it will be too late in 5 weeks time as will Josh want to walk pushing one of those when he can walk by himself?

It is an absolutely gorgeous day up here (you only need to watch the cricket to see how beautiful) - not very often that us Northerners get a better day than you Southerners eh? Just waiting for Josh to wake up then we can go and play in the garden for the afternoon.

Also just had a copy of the Next Autumn/Winter catalogue delivered - some yummy stuff in for me and Josh and I get 15% discount if I order before next Sunday - tempting, very tempting......

Ceebee74 · 09/06/2007 14:38

Forgot to say in my last post - was it on here that babies were 'sieving' their food of lumps? I gave Josh porridge with some raisins in for brekkie today - it was hilarious as he was taking a mouthful and almost instantaneously had sieved it and was only spitting out the raisins and then throwing them all over !!

madness · 09/06/2007 20:29

just thought I should say hi, you are difficult to keep up with.
dd2 is fine, she has 2 teeth now, and can walk when holding on to things. dd1is so sweet "look at bay she is sooo clever, she can walk now" (dd1 walked without support when she was 9 months old but never mind....)

TheGoddessBlossom · 09/06/2007 20:51

Hi madness! Great to hear from you. xx

HumphreysCorner · 09/06/2007 20:58

Have resisted taking any tablets today but may just take 2 paracetamol at bedtime. Down to a normal manageable headache. Am still bleeding though-now day 6.

Hi again Madness.

Wallace · 09/06/2007 21:33

Hc - poor wee Sophie. When mine have a sickness bug I layer their bed at the head end with sheets and towels. then if they are sick I just whip the top layer off. No need to change the whole bed

bloss - having that barbeque I hope!

numpty - you sound like you have a great social life. I am rarely out in the evenings

prettymum - photobooklet looks great! I will get one too

ceebee - he will use the toddle truck so much. ds1 got one for his first birthday, and it was used until he was about 6!

hi madness! Leo only has 2 teeth too

kz - glad you had nice day

I've just made choc chip cookies. Yum!

Wallace · 09/06/2007 22:02

A quick summary of Leo's week as told by the boy himself:

First I watched a digger
Then I got hungry, and I ate some coal
So daddy thought I could do with a wash
After all that I was bloody knackered

(I know the third photo is not exactly responsible parenting, but please don't call Social Services )

Leo loves the washing machine too, crawls over tooo it so excited if he sees the door open. He shoves his head in and shouts - I think he likes the noise.

Funny you should ask if he climbs out of his pram...not yet! Usually he is sitting up with a harness on when we are out and about, then if he is tired i lie him down. But I also sometimes just feed him and put him down in it asleep. And it just occurred to me the other day that if he woke up and I wasn't looking he could maybe get himself sitting up and fall out Maybe I should make sure by putting the harness on him even when I put him down asleep

HumphreysCorner · 09/06/2007 22:31

kayzed-for a split second there I thought you were talking about Lee on Joseph.

Prettymum ? that made me PMSL!

CB ? I am . Since my job was expanded I?m having real trouble doing my full time job in five normal days . I don?t even have time for lunch most days. DH has to keep reminding me to get home on time . Trouble is, I wanted the extra responsibility so I?d feel a bit churlish complaining.

Blossom ? poor old Toby. I think I?ve missed something ? is it chicken pox?

Jeanie ? Abbey is gorgeous. What lovely hair.

Sleepwise, Aidan is getting better. The last few morning (until today typically since it?s the weekend) he hasn?t woken until past 7 and he?s been happy to play and sing to himself for a fair while. We?ve also been able to start giving him his proper breakfast before his milk. I think he?s moving towards one nap a day. The trade off? The last couple of nights he?s refused to settle and has still been full of beans ? we?ve ended up having to bring him back down so we can get dinner. Setting up bad habits or what?

Sleep ? Aidan loves going to nursery one day a week and I think it?s really good for him. He loves trying to communicate with the other babies but he gets rather familiar and makes them cry.

Beadmum ? cute pics, especially the one with the lunchbag!

KZ ? that?s brilliant news. Was it a trauma do you think or did it just go? With Aidan we just noticed it one day ? he won?t stop sticking his tongue out now!

Kbaby ? I hope you feel better soon and that you?re not pregnant if you?d rather not be just now.

HC ? I hope Sophie?s better soon and poor you with your migraines.

Wallace ? ROFL and aaah at Leo!

Gawd this is a mammoth post. What else??

Well I think we finally have a date for Aidan?s christening. My bloody family has been driving me mad over this ? seems they?ve always got something better to do. Grrr!

I have finally managed to register with an NHS dentist and they squeezed me in on Thursday seeing as my exemption?s going to run out soon. Turns out I have a bad gum infection which I?ve left for far too long apparently ? I?ve been trying to self medicate for a good couple of years . I got a right telling off. I?m on strong anti-b?s now to clear it up before she can do a proper clean.

Aidan?s now crawling properly most of the time and getting up quite some speed. He?s STILL only got the two teeth. At this rate he won?t have all his milk teeth before they start falling out lol.
I don?t think I can make the meetup btw ? could only really afford it if it coincided with going to see the family down south. Maybe we can arrange a northern meet up sometime? Anyway I?ll let you know definitely.

Well I think I?ve bored you all enough now. Must see about going to bed soon - I'm not often there before midnight at the moment.

xx

kbaby · 10/06/2007 11:04

Still no period, but then I cnt quite remember what date last month I came on. I know it was somewhere around 5th to 10th ish. Ill have to get another test. I really hope im not. Having DD was bad enough as she was a colicky baby who idnt slep until she was 1.5yrs and DS wasn?t as laid back as I was hoping. He didnt like being put down at all and cried everytime he wasn?t held nd still isn?t sleeping through. If it was in a few years time then maybe I could cope but at the moment I feel as if I would crack up with another baby. Plus theres childcare to consider and we would need to move.
We use condoms as I cant take the pill due to migraines. I think we only did the deed once last month which was 2 days before my period so surely I couldn?t have caught.
I really hope im not because I don?t want to have to make the tough decision over what to do. its a horrible thing to do when you know that woman are ttc.

Gorgeous day here today and yesterday. DD and DS played in the pool yesterday with the neighbours children. I abandoned DH and DC to shopping for some holiday stuff. Bliss.

Ceebee- we have that toddle truck and ds loves it. Esp throwing everything out. It was DS who taks all the lumps out and then once hes finished his dinner he runs his hands through his hair and rubs his face. He always looks grubby
Wallace- Good pictures, don?t think hell be that pram for long though. I love his cheeky smile.
HC ? Hope Sophie got better yesterday.

HumphreysCorner · 10/06/2007 11:26

kbaby-my periods are all over the place so perhaps that is happening to you. Maybe get a Clearblue Digital as they are v. accurate. ((hugs))

Girls-Sophie hasn't been sick since yesterday but she hasn't eaten since Friday and she is boiling hot and lifeless. Shall I give her Calpol or Nurofen? What do you think?

Hi Twinkle.

Better go back to the invalid. DH is 37 today so until October we are the same age.

FirstAtForty · 10/06/2007 14:25

hi girls - sorry, a bit of a mammoth post below and some is a bit out of date, but here goes!

Beadmum ? oh she?s gorgeous, such a sweet face! Bless her with her bag (like your rug and floorboards too ? we?ve just ordered a similarish rug for the front room so Emma has some hope of crawling on it, the floorboards are too slidey for her!)

Bloss ? wonderful pics of Toby and Lily, so fab to have a cousin so close in age. Hope those spots bugger off soon!

Kayzed ? more gorgeous pics of Roshi, she really does have a twinkle about her doesn?t she? Agree on the fringe btw, should suit her and less hassle than tying up?

Wallace ? fab and funny pics too, he?s such a big poser isn?t he

Pretty ? lol at Junior the plank, he?s very clever actually to find exactly the right button to post on MN, perhaps he?ll be an MN fan when he grows up and is a dad!

Jeannie ? good to hear from you, amazing pics of Abbey, she looks so different with her hair tied back (much more grown up) than with it down! She is a total cutie.

Impy ? I didn?t notice either ! Hope you have a lovely family reunion with DP Re the sleeping habits, maybe it is a developmental thing. Emma has been going off to sleep at night like clockwork for months now, until this week when we?ve had to keep going to get her as she?s ending up in a right state trying to get herself off to sleep, all hot and screaming. Even last night she didn?t actually cry, but spent nearly 2 hours whining and chuntering to herself before she finally dropped off. Yes the Nutramigen is because of the cow?s milk allergy, she is having soya formula at the mo but I won?t give her very much because of the controversy about it, so the dietician suggested this. She did try it from a bottle, but refused it (what part of ?I?m screwing up my face in disgust and batting the bottle away? do you not understand Mum ) so I?ll have to try diluting it.

Agalch ? at your renewed libido, you go girl! Deffo think it?s true about libido being related to confidence.

Twinkle ? sympathies on the work thing ? is there any prospect of cutting down hours in the future?

HC ? don?t know I?m afraid re the calpol and nurofen, though I think one of them is probably better for bringing down temperature. Maybe look at NHS direct website? Hope she?s much better soon {{hugs}}

Ceebee ? Emma does some very efficient sieving of food she doesn?t like, she spat out every piece of boiled egg white (which I?d mixed with some mashed veg to try and disguise it)! I?ve been looking at Next too, some nice stuff but got hacked off with ordering online as they force you to buy one of their catalogues on your first order. Trying to find some short sleeved and short legged rompers for her ? ended up cutting the arms and legs off her 6-9 month babygros which seems to do the job

Annie ? hope DS?s nights are better now, sounds very tiring and stressful {{hugs}}

Lysette and Numpty ? respect to you for organisation on the 1st birthday parties! Was a bit as I?ve done sod all to organise anything, we?ll probably just end up at the pub

Sleep ? good luck with the nursery I think they really do benefit from it if it?s a good one and they settle happily.

Kbaby ? doesn?t sound likely that you are from what you?ve said, but worth a quick test maybe to put your mind at rest? Fingers crossed for you.

Will catch up more soon ? love to all xxx

TheGoddessBlossom · 10/06/2007 18:46

Hey First at Forty! [waves] Was wondering where you were. Toby is doing that screamy/being hot thing when I first put him down too at the moment. Usually goes off to sleep no problme but is still screaming up there tonight. Am NOT going to bring him down again like I did last night, he loves it getting all the attention and I'll end up never getting him down first time. hate him getting in such a state though...

Wallae - what fantastic pictures of the gorgeous Leo. I think I might have to get one of the Tobes in our washer tomorrow to use as his invites, Leo looks SO cute in your one! Consider yourself well and truly copied.

Had a gorgeous day at Wellington today, DH hadn't been before, and although it was much busier than when we go in the week (I get quite resentful when other people are at MY places on the weekend, as we pretty much have everything to ourselves during the week) we had a great day, DH was really impressed with it.

He has buggered off fishing again this evening (can't blame him, I'd quite like to be sitting by a river bed this evening).

No car tomorrow as it's being serviced. Got some friends and kids coming round in the morning, am considerig taking the boys swimming on my own in the morning as can walk to the pool, but can I handle both solo??

Night night.

Bloss
