I am most likely to be able to make the meetup if we could make it a two or three days either side of Saturday 28th July because we're going down south for Aidan's first birthday and will be passing close to Warwick. I'll be on leave then as well.

The train from here to Warwick sounds like a nightmare (2 changes) and very expensive so DH would have to drive us in any case.

Otherwise it would obviously be lovely to have a northern meetup, but I'd so love to meet you southerners as well.

sohappyicouldcry · 31/05/2007 23:18

Would love to come, but can't say for definite as only find out my shifts for work 4 wks in advance and they can change at 24 hrs notice !! Would probably stay at my sisters (J23a M1)and travel from there to break up the distance somewhat.

Well, DD is now shaking her head ALL the time !! Most of the time it is when she's supposed to be eating She also doesn't seem to like being spoon-fed at the moment.

DH is back from France now, having done lots of hadrd work on the house (that's what he's telling me !). He's back on nights now though for 4 days. Hardly seen him .

Photos are all wonderful..... wish I looked that good in a bikini Prettymum and Junior is adorable.
Can't remember who it was, sorry, but whoever went to IOW, your DS's are lovely. Bet its lovely having someone for them to play with.

Hope evryones LO's spots get better quickly.

DD has a REALLY sore bum at the moment. One particular bit is an open sore. Not sure what to put on it for the best. Have put her on 2hrly nappy changes (more often if she smells !) in the hope that this might help.

DD was 15lb 12ozs 2 wks ago, 10mths 3wks. HV not at all concerned as she is gaining still. Today she had LOADS to eat and drink. 7oz bottle with porridge at breakfast, then 6oz at about 11am, then half a big jar with water and a yogurt for lunch at about 1pm, then 7oz and a full jar and a yogurt for tea at about 6pm, then 8oz bottle before bed at about 8pm.

Right, suppose I'd better trudge off to my big lonely bed. Can't believe DH was only in it for 1 night between getting back and going to twork.

Night girls xx

TheGoddessBlossom · 01/06/2007 08:31

so happy - me went to IOW. Thankyou for your comments re my baby boys. Nappy rash/sore bottom - give him nappy off time. Sit him on a towel, and turn the heater on if necessary and let him let it all hang out, it clears it up really really quickly, and they love it....HTH.

I am dead keen on coming to Warwick Castle. Would also be up for maybe the 27th July as I could arrange to go and stay with my cousin in the Midlands afterwards, I owe her a visit...how does this fit with everyone else date wise? Would also probably come even if it was not around this date...

Toby seems to have a very mild case of the Pox, thank god. Has only got about 12-15 spots in total, the sorest ones around his groin which he can't scratch when he has his nappy on anyway. Slept fine (till 5.30am when he bro woke him up but as you know that's normal - yawn) and is only a bit grumpy, in fact now that he can move around the house is alot less grumpy than before....

Bloody weather, can't even hang out in the playground with our unclean bell ringing, so annoying.

prettymum · 01/06/2007 10:44

oooh junior can now climb off our bed!! and its a high drop aswell!! he just kind of slides down and crawls off to create trouble!! this morning, switched telly on and realised the sky card was missing!! he keeps taking the damn thing out but dd managed to find it!!

would love to come meetup, will try and find a possible route to getting there and will confirm later

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 01/06/2007 11:15

Morning girls,

Had a great day yesterday, I took the babies to a friend's Ds's 1st birthday party. I didn't know anyone, apart from the friend, and they were all very nice, (if a bit mumsy, no offence meant, just they were all drinking soft drinks, and talking about their labour...). Only me and my friend had wine (typical, eh?). One lady had 11 month old twin girls, and was breastfeeding both at the same time!! Fantastic! They were shoving each other out of the way!!
DS played with all the kids, his first real interaction with other kids, rather than just playing around them. So I was well chuffed. And Kayley behaved prettily too. (Definitely the cutest of the lot!!)
Anyway, it was different to the usual park/swings/ducks...

Kayley now has three teeth! Two more dots have appeared, another bottom one, and a top one. The bottom one that she has if Very Long now, looks funny!!
Her eczema is still there, but I think it's improving with this new cream. She hates having it put on though.

Good luck to all the poxies!!!

Have a good day girls

Annie

Hi Numpty!! COngrats to Ella on her first steps! What a big moment, you must be very proud.
Feel for you re your MIL, but at least she's gone now!
Hope you feel better soon on the AD's. x

Hi Lysette!

jacobandlysette · 01/06/2007 14:18

the paed said you can get the chickenpox vaccine fro m12 months but it should be a couple of months after you have MMR and other mengitis booster done, so around 14 months. he was very strong in saying he thinks it should be offered on NHS rather than just private - interesting as i thought most babies and young children cases are fairly (ish) mild?

anyway, said jacob looked as if he is thriving and developmentally is holding his own with other lo's of same birth age (all the more proud mummy emoticon as he is effectively 8 weeks behind in brain development time). and he's just under the 50th centile for corrected age weight and just under 25th centile on actual age - so still doing pretty well as he was so tiny at birth!

sorry enough of me going on about jacob's weight! just had a huge run in with our solicitors for the purchase - he was incredibly rude to me on the phone so DH phoned him up and said "you can't be rude to my wife like that!"

feeling much more positive today - have had a few long talks with dh over past couple of days and evenings and he seems to understand that i do need more support from him - which is half the battle - it's emotional support not practical support IYKWIM.

Anyway, must make the most of this great mood I'm in and get some packing up done! DH out tonight so will be ordering sushi and drinking a lovely bottle of bordeaux i picked up this afternoon.

shared a glass of wine with dh last night so off the wagon already this week - lasted precisely 2 nights... fingers crossed for me everyone that this is the last weekend i can drink for a while!!!

OP posts:
jacobandlysette · 01/06/2007 14:19

hi numpty - sorry in my long mammoth post totally forgot to say well done to ella sorry.

hiya annie how's work going?

OP posts:
AnnieAlcoholLeft · 01/06/2007 14:24

Hi Lysette,

Work is really dull... Boss is here so can't really go home too early. She could give me something to do, but she's too 'busy' emailing (if she wasn't a lesbian, I'd say she's probably MNing, but luckily she can't catch me on here!!)

Two days is good on the wagon! Well done! (beat me hands down!!)
Glad you have talked stuff through with your DH! You deserve a full glass of wine to yourself tongiht!!
Will there be lots of naughty biz going on this weekend then!?

Have fun!! x

jacobandlysette · 01/06/2007 14:38

no naughty biz tonight but from tomorrow we're back in the saddle!

and the whole bottle has my name on it tonight - dh is out on a stag night tonight that then carries on tomorrow during the day and dinner tomorrow night - but it's all around london so at least he's not away ovenight which is something!

and he gets to watch nz rugby tomorrow morning with jacob while i sleep off the almighty hangover i'm bound to have

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 01/06/2007 15:59

Annie - work is DULL here too - am counting down the next 60 minutes!

Lysette - good luck tomorrow although it sounds as though there might not be much opportunity for TTC in between your DH's partying Am still though.

Numpty - hope the AD's start working soon

Shouldn't really be doing this at work - so hi to everyone else. Will catch up at home over the weekend.

Mmmm....nice bottle of chilled white wine waiting for me in the fridge.....

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 01/06/2007 16:41

Hi Girls,
the chilled wine is sounding good, Ceebee! What do you know, nothing to do all week, then 3 o'clock on a Friday I get an experiment to do...[grr]. Still all done now.

Just got a mail from a friend saying her bf of 6 and a half years has left her, so she's very upset. Might have to go and comfort her and abandon my children for the evening... Poor thing.

Have a good weekend girls, Slainte Lysette!!

KZ - I didn't realise things were that bad either {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}} Hope this weekend gives you the answers

Pretty - thanks for the code - might just have a look at the website in a mo.

Sat here with a glass of that chilled white wine I was dreaming about at work - and it is yummy

jacobandlysette · 01/06/2007 19:35

pretty also meant to say thanks for the code - i was about to order a bubble machine for jacob's birthday party so this will save me even more!

have just ordered my sushi pig out order (a huge treat for me as it's so bloody expensive and dh hates it!) and about to open the red and settle down with crap tv.

talking of crap tv has anything happened in BB - i only watched the opening night.

OP posts:
prettymum · 01/06/2007 20:11

kz{{{{{hugs}}}}} didnt realise you were having trouble with chile, good luck

no alcohol in the house that i can drink! have rum but nothing to mix it with and have red wine but cant stand red wine!! had indian takeaway again for dinner, would ave done nicely to wash it down with adrink!!

annie- hope you enjoy your expensive sushi, have never tried it before!!

kbaby · 01/06/2007 21:35

As DS is now pulling himself up he keeps following me about the house then if I stand still he pulls up onto my legs (wipes bogeys on my leg in the process). It means that I then cant move again as hes clinging to me.

Kayzed- It wasn?t me who was panicking about CF cant remember who though. I had been thinking about it but hadn?t mentioned it to anyone. Do you mean that an xray would rule out CF because I was going to try and google it tonight to see how they could test for it. Don?t suppose anyone knows if it would?ve been picked up by the amnio I had done? Good luck with the reading, youll find their all pretty crap anyway.

Buggar, DD just woke up to say she needed a wee and would I sing princess songs. FFS its 9.30pm!! Shes meant to be sleeping.

Wallace- congrats on the house move.

Just checked out the meet up via route planner and its 2hrs 23 mins each way so almost a 5hr car journey. How long does everyone else have to travel? Not sure if I could cope with the journey or if im just being a wimp.

Hope everyones spots soon clear up.

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 01/06/2007 22:07

Nite girls,

Happy reading, KZ, hope you find the answer.
I assume you have lots of books, but I have The Incredible Years, by Carolyn Webster-Stratton, there's some interesting stuff in there (only if you run out of the usual books...).

We have ordered Indian too, Pretty! I was meant to be cooking thai but it was 9.45 before DS went to sleep (in fact he's still grizzling) and DH was engrossed in the football, so I've taken the easy option
Lysette, enjoy that sushi! Is that another thing you may have to give up soon!?

Kbaby, know what you mean! When they cling to you leg(and snot on it!) You can't budge!!

Nite all, have a good weekend.

Annie

PavlovtheCat · 01/06/2007 22:38

Hey all, not stopping but just wanted to say hello and dont forget me and also -
KZ - I am so sorry things are difficult for you I did not realise. If I have missed some posts I am sorry, I should have paid attention and been more supportive, as you have all been with me, I just got a bit muddled with my own stuff of late . I hope you can find some advice that will help you. [hug emoticon].

Numpty - at DD taking her first steps. I am scowling at you. I thought Bella was going to be first! Seriously though, well Ella, you must be sooooooo proud . Was she pleased with herself? I hope she keeps it up. I am proud for you too

To everyone else, I am not ignoring you, and hope to catch up soon. DD is almost walking, into absolutely everything, refusing to eat unless she has a spoon as well, and can do it herself as well, not instead of. She is being quite particular about the circumstances around her eating, has to be just so, with a spoon, but not on her own, but then the pot but with us both holding, not her. It is taking forever to feed her, and then clean her, and then her nappies - well I shall not say. Apart from I have been very busy of late with many things I never used to have to do!!!
I will try to catch up at weekend. Miss you all.
