Hi Girls,

miserable miserable day here in London.

Took Kayley to the doctor this morning (hence the extreme lateness getting to work, but what do you know, nobody noticed!!).
She gave me another cream to try, and said to stop the hydrocortisone for the moment. Just moisturize. Could be the weather, she said, causing the flare-up (You were right Dr Beadmum!)
So we'll try that and see what happens. Looked very bad this morning. Not infected though, thankfully.

Beadmum, my MIL is quite the opposite, she had everything very easy, sailed through all her pregnancies, no problem bf, etc etc. I think her memory must be going... it was all over 40 years ago. She has been annoying and interfering in the past, but either I'm becoming much more tolerant or she's learned to humour me.

HC good luck with your 'visit' to MIL! And enjoy yourself today at the cafe. I'm sure Em will be an angel.

Kbaby hope your DS improves soon. Can't you persuade him to give up the smoking?? Put the packs up high or something...

Mae, about the mat pay, but best of luck with the interview. Sounds like a rewarding job.

Lysette, tell Mil to give them biscuits back... sympathies...

Welcome back from your 'holiday' Bloss , we missed you!!!

Pav, EXCELLENT typing for a 10 month old!! Hope Bella's cold is better

Better go girls, the sooner I do my ten minutes work, the sooner I can sneak off!!!

Have a good day

Annie

TheGoddessBlossom · 30/05/2007 13:35

Brilliant photos Bloss!! Your boys are so gorgeous!! (All three of them )
Love the one of Toby looking sideways at Harry, as if to say 'are you nuts?'
FAB x

TheGoddessBlossom · 30/05/2007 13:45

hey thanks Annie. Every single one of them are a complete PITA, but they are easy on the eye.......

hey Wallace! What's the Leo chunk boy weighing in at these days??

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 30/05/2007 13:50

Gotta love em

Beadmum · 30/05/2007 14:34

annie - only thought it would be the weather cos i have annoying skin myself that seems to be affected by the weather. Hope the cream from doc helps your posts are so funny by the way, helps to cheer me up stuck in again today, will it ever stop raining?

jacobandlysette · 30/05/2007 15:51

thanks laydeez

well been to docs and was offered ad's for PND. But we are TTC so can't take them. of course DH's response was "well it's not serious PND, we could think about the ad's when it's a bit more serious..." As a finance lawyer he has a huge amount of medical experience

Jacob is crawling backwards very well now and is just a complete flirt with everyone he sees! Very free and easy with his french kisses too

Annie have you done your 10 mins duty for today???

Am starting our packing this evening - reckon if I get it tackled early (as there are so many things we rarely use) it'll be a lot easier. And it will make me feel as if we're getting closer to being in the house

Has anyone with Sky+ noticed the new thing o nthe planner of anytime tv? It's a selection of on demand stuff - watching yummy ross kemp on gangs - the subject rather grim but Mmmmmmmm ross kemp!

stay dry everyone - I got soaked earlier but it was strangely refreshing - and still no booze yet this week.

OP posts:
AnnieAlcoholLeft · 30/05/2007 15:58

Hi Lysette!! You have a lot on your plate at the moment. Hope the TTC succeeds soon, then you probably won't need the ADs anyway (is that how it works? I know very little).
Good luck with the packing: don't forget, kettle in last, out first!!
I've done my 10 minutes. I could have skived of ages ago but I keep clicking on the active conversations... just in case...
This MN is a serious addiction.

Still no booze, good girl yourself!
I'm still boozing every night so far, though not to the extent of Sunday... just the one (large) glass last night!

Off home in a mo

x

great night out with the girls last night, did end up drinking but not too much. Nice Thai food.

Toby woke at 5.10am, so I've been awake since then too, he snuffled and sang, and eventually went back off but by then H was awake. Yaaaaawn.

Toby is CRAWLING!! Forwards!! At a pace!! I can't believe it! He look soooooooooooo sweet doing it, really rickety, and so proud of himself. Now the fun really starts....

KBaby, the mac was a Next one that H has only just stopped wearing himself! Toby is catching up with all H's clothes he is so much bigger than H was at that age. Might go to clinic today to get him weighed so I can officially report....

Rain here, pants.

xx

Beadmum · 31/05/2007 08:20

morning ladies

after me saying charlotte seemed brighter yesterday, last night she woke up after 20 mins being in bed screaming, gave her medised and it still took an hour to get her back down but think it done the trick, she was getting so upset, it was awful guess we have to wait to see if its teeth to blame, wish they could just tell you

well my mum is visiting today until saturday so out for lunch today and prob tomorrow too cant believe it - the rain has stopped here, even see some blue sky. oh well prob jinxed it now

Have a good day everyone xx

numptysmummy · 31/05/2007 08:37

Morning all, rain here too. V pants. Got state visit from my mil today. Hasn't seen the kids since xmas. Lives 1hr away. Slightly strained relationship to say the least but hey, thats familys. Luckily she doesn't offer alot in the way of 'advice' about kids but does snipe about lots of other things. Dh was rained off work yestday so we had a quiet day with just Ella as the other 3 were away for the day. Was having a shite day tho - poor dh. Really need to get her in her own rm as i'm sure being so tired doesn't help. Got so much to do before she can go in her new room tho - anyone know were i can get some enthusiasm?
Re the coughs - my 1st three all had bad coughs as babies. As dd1 had failure to thrive as well she was tested for cf but was clear. They all grew oiut of it by about 18mths. Ds1 had croup a couple of times and barks like a seal now when he has a cough but ,as i said, they all seem fine now.

frenchleave · 31/05/2007 09:27

Morning all

Gorge pics Bloss and pretty, what handsome families you both have

And well done Toby! Better bring him round here, so he can show Thomas how to do it.

Numpty - at your MIL. Keep smiling and let it all wash over you!
She sounds like mine, who's a fair-weather sort. Comes over for parties etc but vanishes when we could really use some help. DH was away for 6 days (4 of which were bank holiday weekend so was alone with all 3 kids) earlier this month and I had no offers of help, not even a phone call. Didn't see many other adults, it's wretchedly lonely. Of course she is over at SIL's like a shot to help when her DH is away, and she's only got one child. At times like this I miss being near my (lovely) family.

Beadmum - hope Charlotte settles. Sounds like teeth, poor thing.

Aaaaaanyway. Got to go out. Lovely sunny dawn, but now it's all cloudy and getting darker and darker...

bloss that's great! well done toby we can still only manage backwards property, although i can see the little monkey out of the corner of my eye propping himself up on one hand and reaching up for the corner of the coffee table with the other

getting him weighed tomorrow so i'll be able to add him to the stats.

well, my MILs latest nose poking in session has been abruptly ended by me! Am very proud to say that I emailed her back very strongly and basically said please don't tell me how to raise my child, you are on the other side of the world and your children are 39 and 37. of course i was polite

it's stopped raining here!!!

fingers crossed it's not the pox - there's so much of it around at the moment so i have been told.

also does anyone know if you can get the pox immunisation in the UK now?

OP posts:
Beadmum · 31/05/2007 18:05

cant believe you are all speaking about the pox as i just came on to say i received a text from a friend whos sons bday party we were at on saturday and she said one of the children who were there have come down with the pox so really worried about charlotte, since she not been well last few days, am now worried its this rather than teeth. Is it better at this age tho? does anyone know symptons before spots show up?
