Thanks CD!

I think it's quite straightforward to add pictures...but I got my DH to do it

Emmymummy · 09/05/2007 12:16

Hello - just popping in really & apologies for not reading any of the other posts....just to let you know all is good here, Sophie has so far been a pretty model baby...please, please, please may this continue! It has made adjusting to these early days so much easier. I've been so worried about that big black cloud descending again as it did with Emily, but so far we're doing ok. Milk came in yesterday, and I think that's normally the point where baby blues start to bite isn't it? So she's waking up now, will try to catch up later xxx

mammyjo · 09/05/2007 13:18

Thanks for that Birdie. I went looking for the blanket on the internet and found that Mothercare in Cardiff had them so have been out for a drive and bought one! I will try anything after the last few nights!! Glad you said you only use a vest underneath as I was thinking dd would get a bit hot otherwise. Will be trying it out tonight so will let you know tomorrow whether it was a success! Will persevere for a few nights though.

CD, cant believe you will be going back to work so soon! Thanks for the info on the sheepskin, I may get one when I get paid again later this month. It sounds great and will be good for the summer too. I wasnt sure whether it was only a winter thing so very grateful for the advice!

Hi Emmy, glad you are doing ok. Long may it continue!

Nutty, what sling did you get? I bought one of those ring slings but am not getting on very well with it. In the cradle hold dd just seems all squashed up and looks really uncomfortable so I havent really been using it.

CD, hope you are having a good day even if you didnt get to the farm. Weather is pants here, absolutely pouring down with rain.

oooggs · 09/05/2007 13:34

Hi all - when do you lot find time to post?????????

This is hard work and that is just James

Hope all is well - going to put my Medela mini breast pump pg 235 of Mothercare book rrp £54.99 on the for sale board for £35 inc. pp if anyone is interested - have no need for it now

oooggs · 09/05/2007 13:40

kneehigh - how do you out dt's to bed at night?

sorry if a silly question

oooggs · 09/05/2007 13:40

put !!!!!!!!!!

EllieKthePA · 09/05/2007 13:41

mammyjo i have a ring sling and Joe seemed squashed like you described. I investigated some of the other carrying positions and have got on much better since then. Joe likes to be in the 'upright facing in' position!

oooggs, we manage it cos we don't have twins to cope with you're doing really well to get on here at all!

i'm sure you're disappointed about not bf anymore but you've done amazingly to last as long as you did, i've struggled to keep going for the 3 weeks so far and i'm only feeding 1!

EllieKthePA · 09/05/2007 13:42

that's it oooggs, she 'outs' them at night time, into the dog kennel

mammyjo · 09/05/2007 14:57

Hello again. I have uploaded a couple of photos, one of ds and one of dd but am not sure whether you lot will be able to see them as I havent created a profile yet.

mammyjo · 09/05/2007 14:58

No you cant. Off to get ds from school but will be back to look at this later!

eca · 09/05/2007 15:20

hi all

ellie - good to see you back around.

pesha - hope that ds1 gets better soon. poor little lad.

mammyjo - sorry to hear you had a bad night. let us know how you get on with the blanket, may have to get one for T if he doesn't settle.

re:biscuits and crap food - i seem to be living on it at the mo i am getting through packets of chocolate shortcake scarily fast!

Have got appointment to see a consultant about T's tongue tie tomorrow HURRAY really hope it will help with the pain if he gets it snipped. We'll see...

Right, need to sleep while the boy is. Although i think he's doing his hungry wriggle ...

mammyjo · 09/05/2007 15:37

Ok, have created a very brief profile so feel free to take a peek ay my pics!

oooggs · 09/05/2007 16:04

lovely photos mammyjo

how did you do the profile page????????

hv just left Jack now 11lb 5.5oz and Erin now 9lb 11oz. Huge

Kneehighinnappies · 09/05/2007 16:35

Ok I have a free 30 seconds, the DT's have been little bastards since thursday and we havne't had a decent night's sleep because of a growth spurt.

Ooooggs- They won't settle at night so the HV said to bath them (if we have time) milk and chuck them upstairs and let them cry! Fine with me (OHHHHHHHHHH I'm so mean!!!)
I know there is no way I would do with them what I did with DD we used to cuddle her till she went off. BAD Idea she got so used to it it was impossible to get her to go off by herself.
They sleep foot to foot in one cot with a devider to stop them kicking eachother, they were next to eachother but kept waking eachother up.
We have stopped swaddeling them and they are now in grow bags which they seem to prefer.

I can't believe they are only six weeks it feels like 6 years.
Had them weighed and they are both up to 7lbs 6oz

Has everyone had their babies yet? I have no time to check.

Really hope everyone is doing well.

Bramshott · 09/05/2007 17:08

MOAN ALERT

Am feeling a bit hacked off with Orla at the mo: she seems to have three default settings -
(a) feeding
(b) sleeping (not often enough for my taste!)
(c) yelling

She does have a cold, which I know is making her more fretful than usual, but please reassure me that this is normal, and that your babies are not all lying on their playmats gurgling and coo-ing when awake

I know I shouldn't moan, and she has been very good at night the last few nights, but it feels like whatever DD1 and I are doing in the day has the perpertual background noise of a grizzling baby . . . DD1 being very good about it, but sometimes I just want to shout "SHUT UP"!!! She will settle sometimes if rocked, but I can't be doing that all day can I?!? Not even very settled in the sling at the moment, so that just feels like I'm strapping a screaming baby to my front - nice!

God, I hope it's just the cold making her miserable, or I'm sending her back!!

LesleyR · 09/05/2007 17:24

Bramshott I can assure you that George is not lying gurgling contentedly and also seems to be feeding, grizzling/shrieking and sleeping.

TBH We have some days better than others. But on bad days he would sleep all day if I would just let him lie on my front - not really practical.

muminasaggytummy · 09/05/2007 17:35

Hi ladies

Bramshott - [hugs] must be very frustrating if her only awake mode is crying. Don't really know what to suggest apart from to carry on doing stuff and let her cry if you know she is fed, clean etc as with another child especially you just can't be expected to continually rock and comfort....Robyn at the moment only really has the 2 modes...feeding and sleeping (she's only 3 weeks so I'm sure that will change) She has about 1 and a half hours awake int he day in total and she just kind of stares around and sticks her toungue out!

Kneehighinnappies - my hat comes off to you yet again....you cope AND have a sense of humour!

mammyjo - pics are gorgeous.

eca- great news about seeing the consultant - I hope it goes well.

Hi to everyone else - struggling a bit to keep up at the mo....anyone heard from weeonion after her BF questions? Just worried as not heard from her for a while.

Phil is in the mega goo dbooks....I took delivery of a big box of "Lush" bath products this morning ...a "Thank you for having major surgery to have our children present"...not in the same legue as Octo's ring but I am well chuffed!!!
x

Kneehighinnappies · 09/05/2007 17:50

I have 2 doing the whole crying thing they seem to lye around for about 10mins then start screaming, I just have to leave them to it most of the time, or I plug them up with dummies and then in the swing. no mummy of the year award here

Kneehighinnappies · 09/05/2007 18:04

If your babies seem more unhappy and unsettled coming up to 3 and 6 weeks it is because every 3 weeks up till 12 weeks they go through a growth spurt, which apparently makes them miserable little buggers

octo · 09/05/2007 18:05

one handed here again! we don't seem to have reached the quiet content stage yet either ....

hv weighed him this am - now 11lbs - my little chubber! has put on nearly a lb this week. he has eye infection so have drops - think he has given to ds1 so giving him drops too!

i leave ernie to cry for 10 mins when put down so he learns how to fall asleep - he has been fed, winded, changed, cuddled lots etc and is yawning so don't think it does any harm.

he hates the dummy but do try to persist!

must go watch my recorded ER
