Also my skin seems ton have gone beserk[broken out in spots],my wound still hasn't healed and i have just grated my finger whilst grating cheese and i am already starting to whimper with the thought of another sleepless night and dp is away!

WestCountryLass · 09/05/2007 20:25

Sympathetic (((hugs))) to those of you who are finding things tough at the moment It can be a bit of a shock to the system!

We had our six week check here, Leo is now 11.5lbs. Does make me laugh that they ask you about contraception, 3 kids is all the contraception we need!

CaptainDippy · 09/05/2007 20:29

LOL WCL - Know the feeling!

Have the wine, but is still not making the fact that DD's are not settling any easier. Just went in and DD2 was just smiling and laughing at me and DD1 was shouting: "Don't wanna go to bed, don't wanna go to bed!" Practicaly threw DD1 in her bed. Really hope DH comes soon cos my blood is starting to boil.....

Dippy - That blood boiling feeling is all to familiar here - sometimes they just know which buttons to push don't they. James has started to almost smother Robyn with his whole body when he kisses her cos he knows it is like a red rag to a bul with me...I got so cross with him before because I know he was just doing it to get a reaction...thing is what can you do...you can't ignore it?!

Such a shame cos the other 99% of the time he is great. They both had a bath together tonight which was cute and I got them both in bed for 7.30 but like SOKL last night my smugness abruptly ended when R started whingeing about half an hour ago. She has only been taking about 2 - 3 oz feeds today as oppose to bnormal 4-5 ...and is generally a bit unsettled so don't know whats wrong. Have put her in her gro-bag for first time tonight and back in cot as she looks so squished in moses basket....so will see how we get on.

Just been ordering some real nappies from a local company with my £45 Council Voucher...Octo have you ever heard of Wambamboo Nappies and if so do you know if any good...I've taken the plunge and gone for them as like to support local company etc and I'm not really paying for them as council are....so won't be too devo'd if they are not the best....but I liked look of them
x

CaptainDippy · 09/05/2007 21:12

Glad it is not just me, Octo - It is so nice to come on here and vent - and to know that I am not alone. DD's seem to have settled now, but I don't dare go into their room to see the untold damage they have caused....I am leaving that for DH when he gets home!! (With chocolate ..... hopefully .......)

Wambamboo nappies are pretty good from what I have heard - we sell them in my shop.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THOSE WITH COLIC PROBLEMS !!!!!!!!

I was just emailing bubblez with the baby massage for colic information and I remebered something that maybe of some help to those of you who are struggling with colic.

Due to DD1 being failed ventouse(sp?) we were told to take her to a cranial osteopath because of the difficult birth that she had.
After 4 sessions costing around £45 her colic had gone.
The reason I am mentioning this is because the osteopath told us that it is not just babies that have had traumatic births normal births can also cause problems with the skull and this in turn can be the cause of colic, something to do with the pressure on the brain.

For those of you who are lucky enough to live in London there is a FREE osteopathic centre for children the tel no is 0207 4905510.

I know how terrible colic can be we couldn't sit down with dd1 from 6pm till 10pm.
I only wish I had remebered this sooner it really does make a difference.

Try googling it to find out more as I am lots of thing but a doctor I ain't.

I don't suppose somone could email this information round in case anyone who doesn't have time to come onto MN may benifit from it.

Morning! Phew had a big read and sort of caught up! Sounds like similar stories all round - babies that want to be held constantly! Finally watched the DVD on how to put on the Hug A Bub as I was making a complete mess of it. So yesterday it was baby wearing day - S was as happy as can be and I could get some things done but she wasn't keen on me sitting down - so I was tired out!

So last night finally put her into her Amby nest (she has been sleeping with us) - wakes for her feed (one of 4 through the night!!!) and DP jumps out of bed to get her and bring her to me. I try and sit up, eyes still shut, lights out and swing my arm around to get balance and whack the kid smack on the side of the face as DP has her hovering right above me! She cries, DP yells and I feel crap! Baby was fine but DP remained in a huff with me to morning - like I meant it!

Anyway S slept in the nest for just over 2 hours - I was convinced the thing would keep her asleep for hours So the jury is out if it is any better than a moses basket!

CD hope you are having a better day after yesterday? It is tiring when the other kids play up isn't it? I do find a glass on wine restores some of my calmness - I just have to remind myself to stop at one or nothing gets done!

Baby fussing - can I resort to wearing her yet???? Makes for a long day!

EllieKthePA · 10/05/2007 10:49

thanks kneehigh, emailed it

MY DRESS HAS ARRIVED

and it's fab!

the fabric isn't stretchy but the waist is elasticated so it fits just fine

EllieKthePA · 10/05/2007 11:02

runnyhabit have you heard from GK?

CaptainDippy · 10/05/2007 11:20

OMGosh - P definitely ain't a Morning Gal ..... she's been using me as a dummy ALL BLOOMIN' MORNING!!!!! Driving me nuts, won't settle at all, so haven't been able to do a thing, which is soooooooo frustrating.

Sigh.

Anyway, MW just left - 8oz weight gain in 5 days .... yey ..... so she is now 7lb 11oz - Almost up to DD1's birth weigh!

Can thoroughly recommend crainal osteopath, used one with DD2 who had severe feeding issues - Didn't resolve them, but certainly helped!

do you think all the April babies secretly communicate?

Joe has been permanently attached this morning and is now very grumpy

geordiemacminx · 10/05/2007 11:24

Hey ladies - first post on the post natal!!!

Everything here is perfect, baby Charlie feeding and sleeping like an angel!!

Congrats to all those that have had babies while I have been away!!

If you get a minute could you all have a quick look at the thread I started - thoughts and prayers for Vio. She is a friend of mine and WO's and is really going through a hard time at the moment.

Sorry I havent had time to catch up properly - seem to be in an endless cycle of feeding and changing......Charlie and me.... no one told me little boys have a tendancy to wee on you when you are changing their nappies

EllieKthePA · 10/05/2007 11:25

liath · 10/05/2007 11:26

GMM has started a thread to support Vio - she's an April mum but mainly posted on the North of the Border thread. Her baby has a serious skin condition called EB. There's a link to the charity that supports affected families.

Thread here .
