i bought z some baby gap socks yesterday...they are so cute i well up everytime i look at his little feet...AND they stay on!!

TheShopaholic · 03/05/2007 13:49

UD - baby gap socks are fantastic. I discovered them last month and can't believe they stay on sooooo much better than "normal" socks.

theUrbanDryad · 03/05/2007 14:00

yeah...pity they're so f&$***! expensive though. £3.50 for 2 pairs!

ellieandhattie · 03/05/2007 14:06

Right Ellie has now gone with the lady next door (she loves her) for a walk to the polling station to help her with her vote. The child is obsessed she'll have another trip there later if DH home from work before bath and bedtime

Lizzzombie · 03/05/2007 14:31

Hi everyone. You've all been very chatty today.
We've just got back from going to the Newbies screening of "Next" at the local Odeon cinema. Hmm, not sure I'll bother again. After having to go and change him twice and having him scream in my ear for 20 mins it sort of threw me off the plot of the film! Maybe good when its boiling hot though, as cinema was nice and cool.
Just got a baby bath support delieverd from Mothercare too. Very exciting. I am terrified of dropping him in the bath! x

Nemo2007 · 03/05/2007 14:41

bless E voting and love the picture

UD baby gap socks are fab, also found next baby socks to be ok!!

Lizzzombie · 03/05/2007 15:19

hattie2 · 03/05/2007 19:43

Bad day, Nemo?

Great news PCF, please keep us updated on all your plans!

Has ellie finished voting for the day yet EAH? Is she staying up late to watch the results come in?

Hello everyone else

ellieandhattie · 03/05/2007 20:25

Oh God Hattie she would have stayed all day (weird child) they were both extremely overtired by 6.15 that it took an hour to settle them as one kept waking the other (maybe Ellie did want to watch results!).

They are going to IL's tomorrow for the night as we have DH BF's birthday meal (never get rid of them this often normally 2 weekends in a row)but they have both got really snotty noses and grumpy moods so if they are coming down with something then I'll stay at home and keep them here as they are real 'Mummys girls' when they are poorly and not fair on MIL (dh can still do the meal as I am not that fussed)

Nemo - whats up??

Nemo2007 · 03/05/2007 20:54

Right feel a lot better now...nothing just Ds being a horror today, I ended up really shouting at him as he was refusing to get out of the bath but of course I was also getting both the girls dried and dressed so he decided to start throwing water on them. I couldnt wait for him to go to bed tonight..lol

canmummy · 03/05/2007 21:04

Well I just finished watching panorama about the midwives and it was much worse than I thought it was going to be - I'm sat here in tears and don't think I'll sleep tonight now (especially as dh away).

EAH hope your lo's are fine for tomorrow. You'll think I'm the meanest mummy alive but a couple of years ago dd1 got chicken pox (at christmas poor love) and a couple of weeks after we were due to go to chicago for a long weekend just dh and me. So my mum said she'd have the kids anyway and sure enough dd2 did get chicken pox and was really poorly, wouldn't get off my step-dad's lap. But every time I rang to check they were "fine"!

MrsCarrot · 03/05/2007 21:17

That was absolutely horrific, I agree, Canmummy, I can't believe those women went through that and some of the things the midwives said .. 'tell her to get a life', about a woman labouring on a corridor? Awful. And what do they do, employ more midwives? No. More hospital managers.

Just trying to upload some pctures now, I'm so crap with computers they might be up by the morning

MrsCarrot · 03/05/2007 21:20

and PCF, very happy to talk weddings with you Hope everyone else is ok. Has everyone had their jabs now then, Felix hasn't had any yet, not that he won't, but I wanted to give his system a rest after that big upset with the other medicines. He's just 3 months now so it's not too late.

MrsCarrot · 03/05/2007 23:00

Pictures! They're not that great, the only ones I have on the computer are a friends as my proper ones aren't here yet. I've been given some gorgeous black and whites but I don't have the disk so I'll put them up when I get them. Where are you all? Sigh, must join msm, how many times have I said that?

Shimmer · 04/05/2007 03:37

morning all. LOVE the pictures Carrot. You look booootiful I love the one of you and DH and the 3 kids. I know its not "traditonal" to have kids in the wedding photo but I think it looks lovely and I decided that I don't mind of my dp doesn't propose for ages now so we can have 2 or 3 children at our wedding too!

Well after sleepingvery well from 7:30 to 6:30 for about a month now Freddie seems to have forgotten the scheduale and has been a little monster for the last 3 nights. Don't know what's happened, but last night he woke about 6 or 7 times between about 3 and 6am, when i finally gave in and got him up for the day He went back to sleep quite quickly each time, but then just woke again 20 mins later. He was obviously still tired though so about 8:30 he went back to sleep and we both slept til 10am!!
Wilkie, hows J sleeping?

Liz, I've been dying to go to one of those mother & baby film showings! There isn't one near me though and haven't been arsed yet to get the bus. Bad luck about the changing & screaming though. Was he screaming in the cinema or did you take him out? Did other babies scream at all? Is that sort of expected do you think?

Freddie rolled over about a week ago too, though it was obviously a fluke as he hasn't done it again since. Though he does roll onto his side a lot and it only take s a tiny push to get him over. He rolled from his back to his front, which my mum said was unusual and he should have done it the other way round first. Naughty Freddie!!

Just in the last few days F's suddenly got much more coordinated with his hands and can now pick stuff up and reach for things you give him! It's such a sudden change I was quite shocked! Well he sort of seemed to reach for stuff before, but it was often quite hit and miss and he only really grabbed onto something if it happened to touch his hand. But he's much more purposeful now. So obviously EVERYTHING within an arms reach now gets picked up and goes straight in his mouth!! Which causes even more dribble, which means that any outfit I put him in is usally soaked though about 10 minutes later.

Ok Freddie's starving... better go get his bottle...

Morning all. Hope you had a good night. Poor Shimmer.

Carrot - you look absolutely gorgeous in your wedding photos; they're really lovely Can't believe no one offered to change nappies though!

PCF - congrats!!!! How exciting! Another wedding to look forward to.

EAH - I hope Ellie is watching intently as the election results come in What are her policies? Lots of attention especially from mummy? Lots of cuddles especially from mummy? Not going to grandparents when I'm ill but stay with mummy? New front door and builders to talk to every year? Awwww....sound so cute!! Hope they're both feeling fine today.

Canmummy - wish I knew Panorama was about midwives. I was on the phone seemingly all last night.

Nemo - hope the kids behave themselves today. Sorry but pmsl about DS throwing water on the girls

LL - how was L after her jabs? Hope she slept like the proverbial. Is spinning that cycling type exercise class, or some old fashioned form of weaving? Oh, and Shopaholic, I agree with you and LL about the apprentice. Adam seems perfectly reasonable to me. With Katie, I seem to be focusing on her nose. Wonder why .

UD - agree with everyone that baby gap socks are the best by miles. They stay on and everything!

Lizz - what are you baking today for your sil? Hope you have a good weekend, and aren't questioned too much.

Dragon - you still around....?

Have a good day all of you. My SIL is popping in today for a short while. Bit overcast here this morning so might head down to the library. Am nearly at the end of my HUUGGEE task of sorting out my photos. It is over 10 years since I put any of them into albums, so they have all been spread out on the table, and I have been reminiscing. The good ol days.
BTW, no mice have made an appearance since last week's mass destruction of 3 (and a half) mice. Wonder if he's destroyed a nest or something (do mice have nests?). However, it's only a matter of time til the next carcass I'm sure. I'll keep you posted. Ta-ta!

Carrot are you sure you gave birth to your little one you are so nice and slim I am very not saying I thought you were a chunk like me you look lovely so do the children and even your dh .

Eah hope the girls colds arent giving you too many problems Aidan seems to have one coming aswell, enjoy your night my mil is having the kids tomorrow its my dads birthday so we are going out for some nosh.

Canmum that program was shocking it made me cry how awful saying that my bf dh is in hospital with a blood clot they have been running loads of tests to see how big it is well last night she went to see him and said to the nurse how long do you think it will be before he is allowed home her response to my friend was shocking she said I dont no as he is a time bomb if the clot goes to his heart it will kill him . Just what you want to hear when your dh is 25 and you have 2 children at home but she did bite back and asked why he hasnt had a bed bath since monday, he has broken his leg which has disrupted this clot so he cant walk to get a bath he is also wating to have a cat scan bearing in mind blood clots are mega dangerous they havent hurried in giving him the scan and said last night oohh we will probably do it after the bank holiday weekend. The worse thing is 10 years ago my fil went into hospital on the 30th dec with chest pains they said they would do a scan after new year 24 hours later he was dead massive blood clot gone to his heart and killed him if they had scanned sooner he would be alive today to see his grandchildren. He was 40.

Pcf hope you feel better later.

Shimmer sorry to hear about f sleeping maybe its a growth spurt.

Nemo I always have problems getting Aidan out of the bath.

Rgee she has a massive nose

Lauren was a bit grumpy after jabs but slept really well however she is really grumpy today bless her. Sorry about long post.
