Hi all, welcome unchief. I'm hoping to do baby led weaning too. I just know that dh is going to give me a hard time about it, tho...

eli - another cold? You've really been thru it this year

Olihan - congrats on the exchange but too bad about the sleeping. Ds2 had a good night Sunday but I can't figure out anything I did differently in order to repeat it

Indith - don't know how you do it, woman!

AQ - How's it going with your ds1? I think the physical problems from the impaction are cleared up with my ds1 but am really getting frustrated with having to start over on potty training.

Cocobabe · 15/05/2007 21:55

Oli - Gr8 news about the move - hope it all goes well on fri ! ..and hopefully you wont stay offline too long ! ..Poor you , hope you have a better night 2night - every 50mins sounds awful ..( been there and done that and survived !)

Ive pureed lots , and freezer is stocked up with apple , mixed veg, sweet potato , butternut squash, carrot & pea and pear !!

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 15/05/2007 21:56

wonderful news Oli - I hope your move gies well. I looked after our buyers dd today as their removal company left their stuff in a mess, it's hard getting things done with the los around

i think dd2 is constipated - any suggestions?
hello unchief and pipey

where are you Milkshake? - i've seen you around, just not here

Oli - great news about the move.

Tonight I gave DD1 pasta, peas & sweetcorn. I made too much so pureed it. can I give that to DD2? I've only done carrots, pear, banana and jars of stuff so far.

glassslipper · 15/05/2007 21:57

xpost

margo i think pears and prune juice are meant to be good.

Glassy, no pasta till at least 6 months coz of gluten Can't remember if your l/o is 6 months yet?
I have spagetti bolognese waiting in my freezer

glassslipper · 16/05/2007 08:08

thanks magnolia. I will freeze it.

NEWSFLASH - she slept through!!! 7.40 until 7.35 when i had to wake her up

p.s sorry in advance to the sleep deprived. no intention to rb noses in it and i am very scared this will bite me on the bum tonight but had to share

Indith · 16/05/2007 09:05

Yay! Ds seems to be only waking once a night! Past 2 nights have been around 4.30am for a feed and back to sleep. Wonderful baby.

Oli fab news for the move, very sorry to abandoning you in the land of sleep deprivation though. Hope things get better soon.

Jabber I think I know what you mean re your dh. I want to do baby led weaning etc but dp just says he's leaving that stuff to me and when I try to explain to people who keep talking about baby rice etc (MIL, friends etc) he just says he's not getting involved. Ah well, I got him to fully support homebirth and he uses cloth so I'm not giving up! After exams I'm going to stick him in front of Aitch's blog!

Indith · 16/05/2007 09:07

Sorry forgot, GS YAY!!!!! SLEEP!!!!!!!

Right hitting books again, my mum not working so should be able to cope with ds for me today (my dad's limit being about 5 mins before he starts yelling, ds that is not dad)

Cocobabe · 16/05/2007 09:26

glassslipper - wow what a night youve had !

Bit tired this morning ! ..ds went to bed at 9pm woke up 10.50pm for feed , then decided he wanted to play - grrr ! so he didnt get back to sleep till 12.50am !then woke up again at 1.15am , another feed !, resettled at 2.30am , then wake for day & feed at 7am !....hope he gets to nap later ...

Cocobabe · 16/05/2007 13:02

Is there anybody around ? seems awfully quiet this morning ! Hope youre all getting some kip ...

Hair Loss - when does it all stop ?! Its driving me and dh mad seeing hair everywhere !I know its the hormones settling back in but after a few weeks - its still going on ! Can any of you remember how long it took till the hair loss calmed down ?

jabberwocky · 16/05/2007 14:11

GS and Indith - big congrats on the sleep we've had some better nights so hope springs eternal at out house.

unchief - dh is always suspicious of "new-fangled baby ideas" but I did talk to him this morning about giving ds2 a really ripe pear to try and he seemed fairly open to the idea

DS2 turns 6 months on Tuesday but we may start today or tomorrow as dh has been out of town and is now keen to do something new with ds2

LittleMissLate · 16/05/2007 14:13

Hi Cocobabe - my hairloss only started a week or two ago - coming out in handfuls every morning now . Clogs up the hoover nicely...

LittleMissLate · 16/05/2007 14:20

jabberwocky - I read somewhere (possibly on a weaning thread) that pear is very slippery and difficult to hold on to for a lo - don't know if that is with or without the peel on. Sure he will love it though - my dd adores pear but has it in puree form at the mo although you have just reminded me that I have some nice organic pears ripening in the fruit bowl at the mo - might try offering her a slice later .

castlesintheair · 16/05/2007 14:21

Hi everyone. Don't have much to say other than "hi" and I'm so knackered my eyeballs need an MOT, not to mention the rest of me ...

Cocobabe · 16/05/2007 14:36

Jabber- Pear can be very slippery to hold - let alone trying to peel it !! But my ds loves it when its puree form !

Misslate - annoying isnt it seeing your hair fall out , and the moans I get from dh about it when it clogs up the shower hole !! Hope it settles down soon , as Im starting to think about having a new hairstyle - I have long straight dark brown hair , feathered at front without fringe so I'd like to banish the mumsey look upon my rtn to work !

I was thinking I take the peel off of a small section but give ds2 the whole pear to hold. Maybe I should post a question on aitch's blog as all of the first fruits are slippery ones.

jabberwocky · 16/05/2007 15:08

"thinking I would"

jabberwocky · 16/05/2007 15:10

Re: hair - I hate to share this but with ds1 mine fell out until he was 18 months old! Can't remember when it started but I think when he was around 6 months the shedding began in ernest. It doesn't seem as bad yet so fingers crossed that I don't lose quite as much this time around. My hairdresser was seriously concerned last time, lol.

Ihad thought about leaving the peel on too. I was pretty sure aitch had said they would just spit it out.
