I was brave and started a new thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SachaF · 14/06/2007 09:14

Neck here too! I wasn't aware I had loose skin there but ds is making a good effort to make me look older!
a repeat night last night,
Ow Ow Ow, give me back my hair ds, it's not a toy!

mylittlefreya · 14/06/2007 09:29

Despite dd having (very sadly ) never been breast fed, she is really into pinching nipples at the moment. Ow ow ow ow Mummy doesn't like that. And biting noses, it's a relief I'm not alone on that. Cute but ow ow ow.

I don't know how those of you with more than one (especially 5!!!) do it!!!

I fish dummies out of my bra if she falls asleep on my chest regularly.

magnolia1 · 14/06/2007 10:56

Ds1 frequently sicks down my cleavage but then I don't really mind as at least I have a cleavage at the moment (it will dissapear when I stop b/f )

My af came back today Done ok to get to 6.5 months but I was kind of hoping that as ds1 was still feeding every 2-3hrs it would stay away for longer

The kitchen is being painted, I have had no sleep and dh woke me when he went to work at 6am (ds1 had just gone back to sleep) So I was up early again!!

It's raining and I'm not in a good mood

Dd4 was 4 yesterday and it was chaos but fun. Yet more stuff to take up room

Gloria42 · 14/06/2007 11:57

Magnolia, my af came back on Tuesday meaning I only made it to 5.5 months. Another myth that as long as you keep bf af stays away....!

Am taking it as a punishment from above - have decided to wean DS onto bottles. He's still feeding every 1.5 hours all day (although sleeping well at night) and the arrival of the tooth just made up my mind .

castlesintheair · 14/06/2007 14:27

Being stupid here what does "af" stand for?

So much for sleeping through the night. All 3 dcs slept badly (due to humidity) and I'm a staggering zombie, again. Hence not knowing what "af" means or when a friend came round I couldn't remember having a long phone conversation with her yesterday

DH is back from Scotland tonight around midnight ish. Hooray!

AQ hope the 'mones settle down soon. ((Hugs)) to you and everyone else feeling a bit wibbly. It really does help to get out - the benefit of having school/nursery age DCs is you just have to go out about 10 million times a day and there are always friends to visit or visiting. Stops them squabbling in the afternoons but I soooooooooooooo look forward to 8pm

castlesintheair · 14/06/2007 14:27

lol at you lot losing stuff down your bras!

magnolia1 · 14/06/2007 14:33

af is aunt flo or something a nick name for periods

Indith · 14/06/2007 19:54

My goodness I've not posted on this thread for so long it went off my 'threads I'm on' list

Been on a jolly down to Leeds today to see one of them there mythical NHS dentists. (DP's old dentist so not quite as random as it sounds)

We get regular frustrated hissy fits when we move stuff away from ds. Shame 5 month olds can't understand the concept of 'no don't grab the coffee cup it will burn you' isn't it

Can't say I've ever had anything other than sick down my bra (certainly not a mobile phone!) altough I did come home the other day and realise I had been walking through town with my bra undone and tucked under my breast. Good job my top was pulled down!

Sleeping is still a total mess. Those wonderful days when he had gone down to one waking a night are but a memory. Still last night was only 3 wakings and one was for poo not milk so hoping that some sense of normality will be resumed. Bad nights coupled with some hectic days have led to one shattered Indith. I can't imagine having to cope with more than one. (yet strangely enough am calculating when it would be best to get my coil out to ensure I can get going with the next one as soon as my finals are over crazy? Moi? )

accessorizewithbabysick · 14/06/2007 20:40

Gloria, I think I'm with you on the giving up on bf (and the painters arrived a fortnight ago, just to add to the metaphor. I'd always wondered what AF was as well, castles). The constant feeding everywhere we go is making me exhausted and there's been no letup since I moved him onto 2 quite large meals a day. And the wind is still awful, I'm sure I should give up stuff food-wise to sort it, but as the thrush keeps reoccurring I don't see what there would be left to eat & I just don't have the energy to think about it. Tho I suppose I'll change my mind tomorrow as usual
Sorry no sleep castles
Bec, I spent the entire day in the house & feel wretched as a result (aside from 2 short trips in the car to drop off/pick up ds1 from nursery). Twas raining like mad all day tho.

Elibean · 14/06/2007 22:18

Happy Belated Birthday Magnolia's dd

AWBS (sorry, keep calling you AQ, will try harder) I'm thinking about stopping BF too. Have been down to twice daily expressing and once nightly feeding for the last couple of weeks, and dd is nearly 7 months now...only reason I've kept up the expressing for this long is that I had a worry she might have hayfever, which BF would help. But I don't think she does, and she won't take a boob during the day for some reason - habit, probably, from the bad old bronchiolitis/floppy larynx days.

Also, if I'm honest, a bit of hanging on because of knowing she is my definitely-last-baby

If she was a happy feeder, I might carry on - but me and the pump need to part company soon

We had ceiling fans put in to both dds bedrooms today - I'm so , if you close your eyes it feels like being on a beach somewhere. Reason for them though is that their rooms are South facing, have the airing cupboard (dd2) and are boiling hot. Not so .

Elibean · 14/06/2007 22:20

Indith, Castles, everyone else needing them - sleep vibes to you.

Gave dd a late dreamfeed last night (11ish - was up watching Apprentice final ) and she slept till 3am, had a small BF and went back to sleep till 5am, came into our bed and slept till 6.45.

Much better

Bectheneck · 15/06/2007 03:38

Argh, don't look at the time. I'm not here honestly I've been in bed for hours.

Just wanted to say AQ, I didn't go out either and it's a pain cos DS is propelling himself across the floor at a helluva speed but there just isn't enough room in the house for him to have a good old scoot without being pulled away from something that he wants to put in his mouth. I could try him again at the soft play place near me now he's a bit more active but I don't want to go out when it's peeing down and I don't drive. Heh, can't go out in the heat and can't go out in the rain - excuses eh?

As a result I've been in a bad mood and headachey all day. Plus DD1 is doing GCSEs but sod all revision for them so is mostly hanging out on PC chatting to mates in the day and then buggering off out with them in the evening. I'm glad she's enjoying herself but wish she'd help out a bit more without me having to ask and get a pained expression and a grunt in response. Oh to be young and carefree again!

Indith · 15/06/2007 10:44

Don't think I got those vibes Eli. Was up 7 times between 11.30 and 6! I did get one 2 hour sleep though!

Ds is now on nap number 2 of the morning and it looks like it is turning into a long one.

accessorizewithbabysick · 15/06/2007 20:27

Ooh, ceiling fans, so reminds me of home, I had one in my room in Oz. I used to come home from school, strip off and lie on the floor under it at full speed. Bliss!
Indith, no sleep, urggggh.
If I could be arsed to change my name back to aq I would, don't worry eli!
Changed my mind on bf again this morning when I fed him on the bed first thing. Can't do that with a bottle!
Bec, really really hard without a car whether it's rainy or bloomin hot! Don't blame you. Took boys to soft play this morning, sent ds2 down the slide & he quite enjoyed himself! I managed to bounce quite a lot on the bouncy castle with no accidents, so yay on those pelvic floors!

jabberwocky · 15/06/2007 22:38

Behind again! G;ad I'm not the only one getting pinched Ds2's favorite is to twist theskin on the back of my upper arm. OUCH! Also a lot of face grabbing going on.

Elibean · 15/06/2007 22:41

Sorry, Indith - must have failed due to lack of vibes to send: was a crap night lastl night, and dd2 snuffly again and probably teething. Urgh. Not quite as crap as yours though - here's wishing us a better one tonight!

AQ, I love them too...spent a few months in S'pore as a child (went to school for six months there) and hated air con, loved fans. Happy to report that dd1 also fallen in love with hers, and insisted on having it on tonight in spite of cooler weather.

Am on pox alert here: sooo much cp around at dd1's preschool, and one of her friends she was playing with last week has it. I wonder how it would be for a six month old? Maybe, hopefully, a bit milder...??

Elibean · 15/06/2007 22:41

Hi Jabber

Pinching with claws, in our house - can't believe how fast those little nails grow

Elibean · 15/06/2007 22:42

AQ, where in Oz?

Also went to school in Perth for six months as a child

Elibean · 15/06/2007 22:43

well, obviously as a child, since it was school.

Thats far too many posts, even for me, am going to bed..

Bectheneck · 15/06/2007 23:08

Eli, my eldest DD had chicken pox at 6 months and I had it at the same time. I have to say I think I suffered more than she did! As far as I can remember she just seemed more subdued than usual - I can't recall her being in any distress due to itching or anything. I hope your LOs escape it anyway.

I had to go out today for food shopping and even though it was torrential rain we escaped the worst of it. The entrance to the shopping centre was under about 3 inches of water though! We are apparently in a flood area as the river Tame runs by us but is not deep at all although Water Orton further north has been flooded. I must check my contents insurance covers flood damage.....can't see it happening round here though.

Elibean · 16/06/2007 08:21

Thanks, Bec - if thats the case, I sort of hope they catch it and get it over with: might be quite good timing, no travel, not quite end of term, nice weather etc.

Though weather, , sounds like you're experiencing some! Whereabouts are you? We're not far from the Thames, but not much rain here yet...

accessorizewithbabysick · 16/06/2007 09:03

OOoh, sleep Eli that sounds grand!
Nearly got stuck in flooded road yesterday, shouldn't have ventured out really.
I was born in Ballarat, Victoria but lived in Bendigo, Perth, Adelaide and a few other spots. only place I haven't been is Tassie and I've got good friends there to host my next visit. I'm so missing it at present, haven't been since ds1 was born, I'd love to show them my home.

accessorizewithbabysick · 16/06/2007 09:04

DS1 had cp at 13 months and it was quite mild, much better for them to get it younger I think.

weirdbird · 16/06/2007 16:12

Ahhhh nightmare night last night, Hannah settled early and we had a nice date night and I sewed on a few of DD1's badges onto her camp blanket for her(go me doing one of those jobs that i never seem to find the time for!!) gave Hannah a dream feed at 11 and settled down for the night, she woke at 3 for another feed. DD1 woke up at 4 with a headache, Hannah woke again at 5 for another feed, then woke again at 7 for another feed and woke DD1 up as well, so that was that on the sleep front, feel like I have been tortured and have the most unbelievable headache today.

I think the hardest part is when you just get used to a pattern of them sleeping and then they suddenly do something completely different and it kills you.

Dont tend to loose stuff down my cleavage but it has been used to catch sick a tad too many times for my liking. Also another flab grabber here, she also gives me big slobbery kisses on my cheek.

Am still waiting for my period to start here (we dont have to use a slang term do we I wont get thrown up Mumsnet will I?)

babypowder · 16/06/2007 18:29

Jeez, what a week. I finally have 2 minutes to sit down and catch up with everyone! It was fantastic having a houseful! And so weird having a tiny baby around. he was a text-book baby, feeding every 4 hours, sleeping loads. Mine were never like that!

Thankfully, I can now wear DD2 on my back, so life has now become soooo much easier. Have managed a few long walks already, and household chores are much simpler now. I wish I could get on with slings and front-carriers, it's been such a long wait for this moment!

DH is cooking tea , but I'd better go and do something practical before Dr Who starts. Will catch up more later.
