Yes and yes. You only have to pay for parking though if you're not a member. Yes good place. We park in main gates and then walk through to the cafe, have a picnic then walk back. There isn't anything else there but they can have a good run around, and a new raised path is pretty good for cycling.

My original message. I must be doing it wrong!

Jelley · 22/04/2007 08:54

I've never done freecycle.

2boysmacca · 22/04/2007 08:57

obviously never have I

We have so much stuff and I keep saying we'll sell it but it just stays in the loft. We have run out of space.

Jelley · 22/04/2007 09:07

I emptied our loft so dp could convert it then he never got round to it. It is slowly filling up again, but I'm planning to do a car boot this summer some time. and clear it out again.

mustrunmore · 22/04/2007 11:36

please let me help with your car boot!!! I love them, but have nothing to sell now!! I'll leave the boys at home, so I can bring one or two bargains back with me too
I wish we could do a conversion. Bu5t because there's a high ceiling in our room, the loft is only above the boys room and lodgers, so its tiny. And low. And has the water tank filling most of it.

Right, I'm getting on the treadmill.

Flamesparrow · 22/04/2007 12:52

Worrying how excited you go there at the idea of a car boot sale!!

KelBelle · 22/04/2007 13:13

Hi Ladies,,

I have just came in from the garden to give myself a few minutes out of the sun. DH has DS today, he took his paddling pool and swim nappies to his parents so he is probably having a fantastic time and I'm just making the most of time to myself and chilling out in the garden in my shorts!!

Will read the thread and catch up with you all now!!

mustrunmore · 22/04/2007 13:14

Second only to running in terms of endorphine release

Off to paint my concrete now!

2boysmacca · 22/04/2007 14:21

Dh has gone to the tip and then gone to get the car cleaned and has taken ds with him. I've been left to pot a plant int he garden. The only problem is, I can't lift the damn thing down to where it needs to be planted!!

Hatfield Forest was lovely. We put ds2 int he back pack and he loved it. Ds just scooted along. We got back for lunch, put little one to bed then started to clear ou some of the front drive (under the hedge is full of weeds) I think I might pour myself a glass of water and put my feet up for half an hour.

I forgot to mention, ERNIE sent us a little gift on Friday

2boysmacca · 22/04/2007 14:23

Jelley, when I said loft, I meant the eaves, ours has already been converted. We have zero storage space.

2boysmacca · 22/04/2007 14:24

The desk I offered on freecycle has gone too My bedroom will once be a haven again!

mustrunmore · 22/04/2007 14:26

Ooo, how much did you get?

2boysmacca · 22/04/2007 14:27

£50 We've been very lucky so far, getting about £50 every 2 or 3 months for the past 3 years.

Flamesparrow · 22/04/2007 14:33

ERNIE?

2boysmacca · 22/04/2007 14:35

Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment (ERNIE)

Premium bonds!

Flamesparrow · 22/04/2007 14:46

Ahhhhhhh

mustrunmore · 22/04/2007 15:07

I won £50 in about 1995, when we were home for a weekend, and just happenend to be there when the cheque came (still registerred to mums address)! Since then, nothing. Did win £41 on the 2000 lottery, and my oyster card not long ago!

mustrunmore · 22/04/2007 15:29

Just done my entry for the womens 5km in September. I like that one, as it was the first race I ever entered!

PhoenixGirl · 22/04/2007 16:42

Afternoon, We've been to costco and got ds a water wheel activity table. But its not that warm here to use outside and it keeps spitting with rain and dh won't let me put water in it in the house so we haven't tried it out yet.

My house looks like a playgroup toys everywhere. Dh brought more toys down from ds' bedroom.

for ERNIE macca

Jelley · 22/04/2007 17:17

Well done macca. I bought some before I had dd1, won about two months later, and not a thing since.

Play table...can't you put a bit of warm water in it? Or have it in the kitchen? I wouldn't be able to wait if it was mine . I mean my ds' of course

Jelley · 22/04/2007 17:18

Oh, mrm the car boot by us is an afternoon one, so you could cpme and join us for the day.

I'm cream crackered! I haven't managed to get to the gym but had a very physical day. Accumulated in ds having a massive wobbly which dh was witness too. He's never seen him throw one before and was completely shocked.

They are now being bathed while I should be doing some work but I can't be ar*ed. Have a committee meeting on Wednesday and I need to get the accounts in order. I have no motivation to do it. Tomorrow after the boys have gone to bed sounds like a good plan.

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/04/2007 19:36

Yay for ERNIE macca. I was asking about NT because I was looking at it yesterday wondering whether to join or not, as they sent me details of some special offer or other. Do you think it's worth it?

What day is the car boot sale? I have a very big car boot, and you do keep telling me I should go to one! Not actually sure I want to sell stuff, but prepared to go for the experience. mrm - I could drop dd off with your dh and the boys, and give you a lift . Actually, I could just load up my boot with crap from the loft and you could sell it for me. That way we'd both be happy!

Had lovely time with friends today. We were just popping up for coffee, but stayed much longer in the end, then went down to Watford to pick up the cosy coupe grande that I got on e-bay yesterday. Saw a bike shop whilst we were there, popped in and managed to get a helmet that fits dd, so have e-mailed the company I ordered from yesterday to see if I can cancel. Dh says I have to have a helmet too though, so that dd sees how important it is to wear one. I look bloody ridiculous in all of them .

Wrote most of this message yonks ago, so no doubt there will have been loads more posts since then, but I'll have to read them once dd is in bed (currently being bathed by dh).

mustrunmore · 22/04/2007 19:39

Of course you need a helmet too
Not sure what dh would do with a girl baby! Alien species to us!
How much was your coupe?
