Pavlov-hope you are OK today hun.

kayzed-well done to Roshi

Gave Sophie some SMA (5oz but she only glugged 3oz ish down) she zonked out immediatedly on her gym mat. Poor girl must have been starving the way she uh, uh, uh when she saw the beaker.

Mum and dad coming in a mo. Dad is tiling and mum and I are going to paint the ceiling. DH doesn't know so watch out for me on the relationships thread later.

Bloss-get you on the homepage! How do you do tips?

Better go-love to all and will catch up later.

Also, need, need, need to use my brain!!

pinkdolly · 11/05/2007 18:19

Kz- How did your appointment go? Was everything ok? what did they say about your back?

I am v.tired. After Jazz's upset yesterday evening she hardly slept last night. Oh well. But in the light of day I suddenly feel a lot more confident about going away next weekend. I have been volunteering at the cafe today and Jazz was really good for Dh. She settled for him really well. And only started crying when I came home. As if to say "look mummy I have been utterly miserable without you"

Annie- Yes they are beautiful pics, I really must get mine updated.

Right this place is a tip. as it usually is after Dh has had the girls. Must go and tidy.

TheGoddessBlossom · 11/05/2007 19:02

I do know the score Jeanie, yes I reckon work would deffo be a rest - the work stuff aside, it would mean I could go swimmming/shopping in lunch hour on my own - to me that sounds like pure bliss at the moment. I particulary hate mornings - they are just sooo groundhog day, and start so bloody early for me - 5.45am this morning. it's just such a bad way to start a very long day, resentful already you know?

have had a good day today, been out of the house loads, visiting etc.

KZ??

Evening girls

Kayzed - well that kind of sounds like good news, shame they couldn?t be more definite about what it actually is, but very good that they haven?t identified anything worrying . Hope it has been reassuring xx

Wallace - that is sooo gorgeous, he looks so pleased with himself, like a wobbly newborn lamb or something [melt]

Pink - sorry, started writing this yesterday before dp had a go at me about my mn addiction (he has a point) so never got around to posting. This may be a bit out of date now... but - practicalities first - did you say you weren?t sure what you were going to do about feeding while you were away from Jazz as she won?t take a bottle? If so then I guess that?s what you need to immediately address before you can feel confident about leaving her. If you can get that sorted soon it sounds like you have a lovely family who will take excellent care of her. If a whole night away sounds too ambitious for now then cancel but get in some practice sessions so you can both enjoy some happy times with other friends and family.

Annie - lovely pics, Kayley's so clever walking along like that! I bet they are a right conspiratorial pair too

HC - hi to you, well done to Sophie on her clapping! Emma isn?t quite there yet, waves both arms around a bit randomly but I?m sure will get there soon

Us - how are you doing hon?

French - how fab the kids being bilingual!

Bloss - re 5.45am - do you think it would be possible to shift their bedtime clocks a bit so they go to bed later but wake up later?

Jeanie - if it?s any consolation I?m not the least bit organised, the house looks like a bomb has hit it when dp gets home of an evening. He?s much tidier than either me or Emma Thank god I can cook and do online supermarket shopping or I'd have no housework credits whatsoever to negotiate with Bloss, we?ll have to get you round for some domestic management master classes!

Impy - thanks for the invite to Madrid with promise of vino tinto, god that sounds fab! Might just work on organising that one?

Got Emma weighed today, she's nearly 16lbs! Back on the chart, nearly up to 9th centile so that's a relief. She has developed a monster appetite (for her) - for dinner tonight she had a whole 7month size jar, a small avocado and half a banana

Well I?ve got more to write but will post this for now otherwise I?ll get interrupted again? be back soon.
Love to all xxx

Kayzed - gorge pics of them both, I think you're right about the eye colour

kbaby · 11/05/2007 23:22

Dh is out tonight so I can spend as long as I want on mumsnet without being rushed.

Ive been struggling this week as DS has decided he doesn?t want to sleep. Monday night he woke crying so I settled him back to sleep then when he did the same Tuesday we reverted back to CC but this time its worse as he keeps pulling himself up and getting stuck and seems to be crying for much longer. In fact by Wednesday we were so tired that when he woke at 5am again crying I checked on him every 5 mins for the first 30 mins and then fell asleep. So I have no idea how long he was actually crying for. Mustve been tired though to do that. Ive been like a zombie as I think getting sleep and then suddenly not getting it is somehow worse. DH and I have been at each others throats and apaently I have no patience!!!!!!

Hes been so clumsy this week. He keeps trying to pull himself up on things and is either toppling them over or hes falling, and we have wooden floors ouch!

Blos- when hes finished with the finger food does he just chuck it? Ds keeps doing this.
Oh and DH would?ve been lucky not have had a saucepan thrown at him if hed said that.

Ceebee- of course DS will have some of your genes, only the bad ones though

Pink ? He would be into everything if he didn?t have DD dragging him away and shouting ?no james your not allowed that? while the poor thing is trying to play with a spoon /get into mischief or something
Hc- Big hugs for you. You need to change your AD?s I cant remember mine making me feels so foggy.

I really envy you sahm. I thought I would love it but actually got bored. I ended up spending most of my maternity leave cleaning just to give me something to do. Im ok if im out doing things but I cant just be in the house with the DC on my own. Even on my day off I need to know in the morning what were going to do for the day and the thought of nothing just fills me with dread and when its only 8am and I feel that weve been up for hrs urghh..
Kayzed- Glad you got some news.

Wallace- hes a cutie.
On youtube have any of you seen the 9 months gestation- wish I had thought of that idea. And theres one called twins dancing in their mommys belly. Its wiered. Right must be off to bed, youtube has detoured me.

pinkdolly · 12/05/2007 07:29

Morning everyone,

Hope you all had a good nights sleep. Not so in the Stephens household. I dont know whats been up with Jazz the last couple of nights.

Wallace, What a gorgeous little boy you have, the video is fab.

KZ- Aren't your two lo's real cuties. i'm also glad that your appointment went well.

First- Emma seems to be doing really well, it's nice when you see them enjoying their food, especially when they're not usually good eaters. It was like that with Jazz for a long time. She still struggles every now and again. But she's getting there.

Regarding breastfeeding and my weekend break- This is what I think. Jazz wont take a bottle because she knows she can have something better from me (i.e milk and a cuddle). The times dh has tried I have still been around, which is why she might not have taken it. I will be doing a trial run with me out of the house.

While i'm away I will just have to express to help my boobs out a bit.

But if the worst comes to the worst I have picked a hotel which is less then 20 miles away. So I could come back or dh could bring her to me.

In the end we're looking at 2 days so it's not a great length of time.

When my friends little boy was this age she had to leave him for a week (her dad died ), she just carried on b/fing as normal when she came home and he was fine.

Ok well she is crying so best go. See you later

agalch · 12/05/2007 07:54

Morning all

Pinkdolly, glad you have decided to go for your weekend.Hope you have a fab time!! If the hotel is only 20 miles away then if she is inconsolable you are not far away so it's a great idea.
Maybe i should think about that too [hmmm].Nah i am too much of a wuss.

Eilidh still has no teeth,is bottom shuffling(like her big sis did) and waves bye bye saying ta ta and can say ta if you give her something(usually food) lol.Saying the usual nana mumumum dada etc.She is the most amazingly happy calm smiley baby i have had.Think by no3/4 you are so much more relaxed they are the same.So glad DH had the snip now or i would def be ttc by now.

My "friend" had a go at me cos she found out we are taking ds1's gf on holiday with us in October.Says it won't be a "family" holiday if she comes and is horrified that ds1 and his gf will share an apparment with my mum and dad and slep on twin beds in the lounge area.Explained that my mum and dad are up 2/3 times per night for drinks etc and that they will sleep with the bedroom door open to ensure theres no hanky panky. She is so judgemental,i only put up with he cos she is in our group of friends or else i'd tell her to bog off

Pouring with rain here atm so not sure what we will do today.DH out with his work guys tonight so i have offered to go out and buy the booze which will be prizes.I am officially a plonker lol. Will get ds1 to babysit his sisters for an hour.Teenagers are useful.Who's son was 11 the other day? Mine will be 16 in September(sob)can't believe my little girls will grow up and be 16 one day.

Anyhow must go and get brekkie.I am starving.Have a good day xx

frenchleave · 12/05/2007 08:45

Morning all!

Algach - at your friend! She sounds like my MIL who booked a "last family holiday" for them a couple of months before DH and I got married and didn't invite me. Obviously not part of the family then. I was really upset, and to make the point clearly, DH refused to go! Best way to lose a son is to exclude his GF from family events, IMO. Let that be a lesson to us mums of boys!

Pink - good for you going away and still bfing. How many feeds does she have a day?

Up earlier than I'd have liked today - why does Thomas sleep til 8.45 on school days when I have to get up at 7.15, and wake at 7.20 on a Saturday

Re the SAHM debate, I'm wondering whether I can go back to work in Sept as I'd originally said. Rang the nursery yesterday and was told it was unlikely I'd get a place, and I was quietly smiling at this news... so maybe I'm not that keen?!

kbaby - I hope he decides to sleep again soon - maybe he's teething, or coming down with a cold? T's sleep goes haywire then.

frenchleave · 12/05/2007 08:45

Wallace - gorgeous! What an absolute cutie he is!

F@F - well done to Emma for the weight gain! Sounds like she's eating really well.

KZ - glad it was nothing scary, hope it can be treated.

Was talking to another Mum at school about Thomas - she asked if he was crawling and I said no, nowhere near, so she asked if he was good with his hands - apparently late movers often have good fine motor skills to compensate! He did pass things from hand to hand very early, clap, and pick up small objects easily. Made me feel better anyway!

Time for a cup of tea I think. Happy weekends to all.

(PS have to post in 2 short messages because the site crashes if I try to post a long one!)

agalch · 12/05/2007 10:07

Morning Frenchleave

Gosh what a lovely m-i-l you have eh? Is she any better now that you are married? Hope so!!

Think my friend is so funny because of the kids ages. My ds1 and his gf are 15 and she cannot/will not belive that they are not having rampant sex every time they see each other. I know my son well enough to know that he would be asking for condoms if and when they decide to be sexually active.I have spoken at length to both of them about sex and i know they are going to wait till they are 16 before making a decision about it.Says i am encouraging them to do it by talking about it.Her way is to say don't have sex ds/dd.Thats gonna work for sure.

My two do the same, sleep in weekdays and up at 6.30am on the weekends lol.

frenchleave · 12/05/2007 11:41

Algach - yes fortunately MIL has improved, but she was a thorn in our sides (and us i hers no doubt for years. Didn't help that DH is the eldest - we had to jump through endless hoops to jump through, it was a nightmare at times. His siblings have had it much easier, but DH has quite a distant relationship with her now. You sound like you have a great relationship with your son. Will be asking for advice when Thomas is old enough for a GF!

JeanieG · 12/05/2007 14:06

Morning,

Algach- It was my DS that was 11 the other day. DD1 will be 9 on Tuesday.

I'm sooo excited, I have booked tickets for us (just me and her) to go to see Justin Timberlake on her birthday as a surprise. I think it's secretly more for me though.

KZ-glad it went well.

Be back on later

Jeanie

Ceebee74 · 12/05/2007 15:52

Typed up a HUGE message yesterday and then the PC crashed and I lost it all ? so here is my second attempt

HC ? hope you start to feel better soon ? thinking of you hun

Annie ? gorgeous photos ? love the window one ? bet it warmed your heart seeing them together like that.

Impy ? I am already back at work but only work Wed, Thurs and Fri which I have to say is a fantastic balance! Hope Ryan is back to full fitness ? that gastroentritis is awful isn?t it?

Pink ? glad you are feeling more positive about the weekend ? you do deserve it as you work so hard with your 3 girls.

Bloss ? at the nursery fees ? I pay £320 a month for Josh so double that and it still doesn?t come anywhere near what you were quoted!

Big congrats to Amelia, Sophie and Leo for crawling ? guess it will be walking for us all next eh?

Jeanie ? I am in the Northwest too so maybe me, you and Sohappy should organise a mini-meetup ? what do you think?

Soph ? no, you shouldn?t be worried ? all babies do things in their own time don?t they (like I am an expert hehe!)

Kbaby ? sorry that the sleeping has gone a bit pear-shaped ? it must be so difficult for you working aswell as you really do need your sleep. Hope things get back on track soon.

KZ ? hope you feel better after your appointment. It must be so frustrating with it being inconclusive. Lovely photos too ? what a cute pair of lo?s you have had eh?

MIL?s birthday today ? but not even that is enough to stop DH playing cricket . Took Josh round this morning to see her and we are going out for lunch tomorrow which I am not particularly looking forward to as Josh is not good in highchairs ? he gets bored VERY quickly and then just whinges until we get him out ? and obviously in a restaurant, we don?t like to let him whinge as it disturbs the other diners. And if we give him food to play with, he tends to gag and puke so it will be great fun

Still no clapping here either ? tons and tons of waving. No definite words either ? just mamamama and dadadad etc

JeanieG · 12/05/2007 18:22

Ceebee- a mini-meet up sounds good. Love that idea. Where are you?

JeanieG · 12/05/2007 18:23

Sorry agalch-just realised I spelt your name wrong.
